Chapter 27: Mixed Feelings
"Come in!" Gemma called out as she heard a firm knock on her office door. The door opened a little and Jay's head popped in, his long hair pulled into a neat bun and his usual cheerful smile painted on his lips.
"Sorry to interrupt Boss," Jay said. "Blaze called and I let him know that you're busy until further notice - as instructed. Should I give him a slot for some time next week?"
Gemma sighed heavily and shook her head. "Don't give him a slot yet. I'll tell you when I'm ready."
Jay shot Gemma a thumbs up before turning his head to the right and looking at Kit, who was sitting on Gemma's couch and watching the whole exchange with a bemused expression.
"Can I get you anything, Miss Simon?" Jay asked helpfully.
Kit shook her head and gave Jay a friendly smile. "Thanks, Jay, I'm still good with this coffee."
