Marguerite receives the messenger bird with trepidation. She lets it sit on her arm and feeds it seeds. After it leaves her arm to set on the bowl of water, she opens the cylinder container.
Inside is the paper she has been waiting for. She opens the envelope with the help of a small knife and she takes out the thinly folded paper with careful fingers.
Upon reading, she smiles happily. Even though she expected it, it still fills her with warmth to know how much of a good man Earl Hye is.
She already packed her things. Even if Earl Hye had refused, she still had a plan b in mind. So she was going to leave anyway.
The only problem is that she still hasn't figured out how to tell Armel yet. She knows his immediate response will be no. As a matter of fact, she has a feeling that if she leaves without telling him, he might actually do something crazy.
