Chapter 57 Clem's Mom

Lee asked, "Who is the man on the radio? Do you know him?"

Clem hesitated for a second, but she said, "I don't know him, but he seems nice. I told him my parents were in Savannah and he said he would help me find them."

Christa who overheard this came over and said, "Clem, sweetie. Trust me that is not what he wants. You have to be careful, okay?"

Ben then came running down the stairs, saying, "Lee, it's Kenny." Lee went running up the stairs, following Ben. John just sat with Carly and watched Clem draw in her book. She was drawing John killing walkers.

A while later, Lee came down the stairs. He was holding something covered in a blanket. John watched as he went outside and placed something into the hole then he watched as Lee covered the hole up. While John was watching this, he saw a figure standing in front of Lee watching him.

Lee noticed this figure and seeing Lee looking at it, the figure ran off as Lee shouted at it. John walked out as Christa and Ben came running out of the house, asking about the situation.

Lee said, "Someone was watching me."

Ben asked, "A walker?"

Lee shook his head, he said, "No, too fast. Took off quickly, when I noticed him."

They then began to discuss about the figure for a while before the door opened and Kenny came walking out. He asked about the situation, and Lee and Christa began to discuss. Eventually Kenny said, "We need to leave and soon. I'm going down to River Street and finding a boat."

Lee said, "Yeah, we need to get out of here as soon as possible."

Ben suggested they search the house before they leave, but Kenny hurries them to get moving. Seeing this, Lee said, "We'll do both. Ben, you look around the house and grab anything useful. Me and Kenny will go to the river and search for a boat."

Clementine appeared like a fucking ninja and said, "Can I come with you. My parents can't be far now."

Lee said, "Clem honey. I think it would be best if you stayed here with Ben and John, watch out for Omid and Christa. Help them get ready to move out."

Clem said, "You said I'm supposed to always stay close to you."

Lee said, "I know, its just this once. I'll be back before you know it." Christa then led Clem inside, as Kenny and Lee started to gear up. John also went back inside and looked around, he took a small amount of food and shoved it in his pack before he sat next to Clem who was brooding.

John looked at her, then he said, "Hey Clem. How about I go out and search for your parents while you wait here?"

Clem looked at John happily and said, "Okay, I'll stay here while you go and look for them."

John nodded then he told Carly about how he was going to look for Clem's parents. Carly was worried about him but let him go, after she hugged him. John then walked out of the house. John walked over to the back fence and easily hopped over it.

John walked to the right and shot a walker that was hiding behind a dumpster with his rifle. The walker fell to the ground, and John stomped on its head for pissing him off. John then walked through the alley. John walked for a while heading deeper into the city. When John was in between two buildings that were about 6 feet apart. John jumped between the two building before he gripped onto the railing of a fire escape and pulled himself up.

John then scaled the fire escape and got onto the roof of a building. John walked over to the edge of the build and looked through his scope. John scanned the area and saw and ten-foot wall of walkers. Most of them were dead, but some were living, and they were stuck on wooden pikes. John looking at this was displeased. John aimed at the walkers that were on the pikes and killed each of them one by one.

John then looked over the wall and saw that there were people on the other side, but they all looked rough, like thugs. There were no children and John couldn't see any women outside either. John saw about 20 men, they were moving around and doing things.

John watched as a man went in and came out with a woman, the woman was almost nude. All she had on her were rags, the woman looked bruised and tired. John seeing this was furious, he pulled his trigger killing the man instantly. He then began to pick off more men as they ran for cover. The woman who had been beaten and raped saw this and a seed of hope burned in her chest she grabbed the weapon of one of the men and began to shoot at them as well.

John reloaded his clip 3 time before he stopped firing as the last man was shot down. John then reloaded one more time, before he slung his rifle over his shoulder. John then backs up, then he ran full force and jumped to the other building across from him. John continued to jump from roof to roof as he made his way to the men he killed.

When John arrived, he was on the roof above the woman, the woman in rags aimed at him, but she stopped when she saw the rifle on his back. She then watched in shock as John used his pick to slide down the side of the building, leaving a steak of deeply scratched bricks.

John then walked over to the woman and asked her about this place. The woman said, "The men here took many women when the monsters first appeared. It wasn't always like this, but the good men had been killed off and that left all the women at the mercy of questionable men."

John asked as he saw the woman began to cry, "Is there anyone else here?" The woman didn't answer and began to dry harder. Seeing this John sighed before he took a shirt from his pack. He gave the woman the shirt, and she quickly put it on. John asked, "What are you going to do now?"

The woman looked tiredly at John and said, "I don't know. I had a daughter, maybe I will go and look for her."

John asked hopeful, "Is your daughter's name Clementine?"

The woman immediately snapped her head in John's direction, she staired at him in the eye and asked, "Do you know her? Is she safe?" John nodded as he smiled at her.

John said, "Yeah, she's safe. She has been with a friend of mine that I just met. We came here looking for Clem's parents. Come on, I'll take you to her."

John told Diana to wait for a second as he picked up all the guns on the ground. John then walked with Diana back to the house. On the way John killed any walkers they came across with his pick, the whole way Diana, who had been so tired looking was now full of vigor.

It took 30 minutes of walking to arrive back at the house. John led Diana into the house and watched as Clem sprinted over to her and gave her a super strong hug. Diana and Clementine cried as Christa looked over at John questioningly. John walked over to her and whispered, "That is Clem's mom."

Christa had a look of realization before she smiled brightly. Carly who heard the commotion came running down the stairs and when she saw John, she ran over to him and hugged him. After a second, she noticed the new woman and Clem hugging and used her reporter mind to put the pieces together, she smiled brightly after she understood.

Soon Clem and Diana had calmed down and Diana was coloring with Clem. John walked over and patted Diana's shoulder softly. She turned to him and saw that he had some nice clothes in his hand. Seeing this she smiled and walked over to a room and changed before she walked out. She then went back to Clem, and played with her, completely forgetting her pain as she stared at her daughter.

An hour later, Lee and Kenny came back to the house, with them was a blonde woman. Lee looked and saw Clem playing with an Asian woman, John walked over to him and told him about the situation. Lee was shocked but he walked over to Diana and comforted her as he talked with Clementine.

Diana saw how much Lee cared for Clem and started to get closer to him. It also helped that Lee looked like her deceased husband somewhat.

Kenny said to John, "We couldn't find a boat. I guess we will be coming with you after all."

John smiled and said, "Great, I'll go out and search for a truck to transport us back. Kenny nodded as John walked out of the house and ran many miles from the city, he eventually stopped. Then he summons big van that could seat ten people easily. John then drove the van, back to the house, when the group heard John pull up, they came running out holding some supplies. The new girl molly was surprised to see a vehicle, she knew that the city had been picked clean of vehicles.

Molly asked John, "Where did you find this? All the vehicles in the city have been picked clean."

John answered, "I ran out of the city and found it far out at a small building." Molly seemed content with the answer as she got into the van. Once everyone was inside the van, John started to drive back to the Prison. It was a 4-and-a-half-hour drive originally and since they had to stop to refuel twice and take a lot of back roads, it took them almost 9 hours, but they had finally arrived.

John opened the gate and everyone in the van was completely shocked. When John drove them through the yard, they saw people tending to the garden and kids playing. They finally saw the paradise John had told them about and they were all extremely excited.

Even Kenny who had given up all hope, had looked around the place with tears. John parked the van in the courtyard and got out along with all the others. Rick walked over to him, used to John running off and bringing people back by now. Rick gave the group a tour as Carly followed John into the prison.

Carly walked into a room after John and saw him walk over to 2 cribs. She then watched as John picked up to sleeping infants, John turned to her and said, "Carly, remember how I talked about my family. This is Joey and this is Cassy."

Carly then walked over and looked at the sleeping babies, she touched their stomachs and smiled. She then looked up at John and kissed him. Suddenly, four women came running into the room. A redhead, a blonde, a brunette, and another brunette who had blonde highlights. The women ran over to John, and they had a big group hug. Carly who was next to John was also sandwiched inside.

After hugging for a while, the women each kissed John tenderly, then they looked over at Carly and observed her. They then began to talk with her, they led her out of the room. John seeing this said nothing and sat down on the bed and held his children. His children had woken up from the commotion, but they didn't cry, no, they looked at John and smiled at him. John smiled back at them as he kissed their cheeks.

John then walked out of the room holding his kids. He walked over to Lee's group and introduced his children to them. Clem was smiling as she looked at them, Diana was also smiling, but for a different reason. She had fully regained hope after seeing this place, and now seeing John's newborns, she was full of hope for the future with Clementine. Diana had also gotten closer to Lee, and they might get together if Lee had any balls at all.

The rest of the group was also excited to see the babies and they played around with them for a while. Soon, John led them over to a table where Carol had prepared a welcoming lunch for them. After dinner, the group dispersed, and each went to their cells they had been given. John walked to his ladies who had been in a group off to the side and sat with them.

Listening to their sweet voices while they talked with each other happily. Amy leaned against him as he sighed in peace. John loved this atmosphere.

When it got dark, Amy and Maggie took the babies and went back to their room, Alicia and Victoria had also followed them. As Alicia passed by John she said, "Rock her world John. Then come and join us in bed."

Hearing this John walked out of the building with Carly, hand in hand. They walked over to his tower and got comfortable.
