Connecting The Dots
A few hours ago when the sky had yet to change but the moon had already lowered its stance, the battle finally met its end. The air cleared up as the deathly aura was lifted and the darkness flickered away under the might of the church's purifying magic. And as soon as the nightmare ended, everyone felt their previous tense body slowly letting go while a deep sigh of relief escaped from their mouth.
The knights lowered their weapon and the group of servants who had been watching in horror at the back finally collapsed to the scorched ground. They finally stopped their tears yet neither of their hearts felt relief. What came after the battle was the feeling of lost and suffocating tightness in their chests.
