The Vampire's Addiction

After years of war between the human race and vampires, a truce was finally reached. The agreement stated that a woman would be chosen to become the wife or mistress of the current vampire prince, forever trapped as his prisoner. While this may seem extreme, countless women were willing to fight for the opportunity, but unfortunately for Aria, she was chosen. Despite some believing she was fortunate to be selected, others claimed that it was only because of her power and wealth that she caught the prince's attention. Aria lost all her privileges the moment she became the vampire prince's bride, but things became even more complicated when the vampires demanded that their prince have a child with her. " Don't worry, I respect your decision, I understand if you want to take in another wife." She whispered with a handful of tears ready to spill out from her reddened eyes " No wife, you are the only woman in my life!" Erec exclaimed. Will that promise hold for a long time, when Aria refused to do her duty as the Prince's wife?

Happy.

What happened next was the real definition of silence. Everyone's attention was drawn to Erec, including mine, as curiosity overtook us except for the vampire beside me. I was sure that he only chose to discuss that topic so he could witness some kind of drama.

At the same time, I felt deceived, again!

I hated the fact that I wasn't told the full conditions of my marriage with Erec. How the heck would I know that I would have to live in vampire territory? That place was like a ticking time bomb for humans.

"Whatever you are doing, Ethan, I think you should stop  it." Erec finally opened his mouth to speak but the cunning vampire beside me did not express any sign of backing down as he maintained a smile on his face.

Ethan turned his gaze at me and then back to Erec, at that moment, I knew he was about to say another suffocating word.

"Prince, I think you should tell Princess Aria what this union is really about."

That was it, Ethan's last words were enough to wake the sleeping beast as Erec stood up from his seat and hit the table with his fist . . hard.

"I said it's enough!" He yelled.

Now, Ethan no longer had a smirk on his face. Just like me, Ethan probably wouldn't have expected that kind of reaction from him.

At the same time, I was scared, Erec's eyes blazed like that the edge of a golden knife and coupled with those scars that everyone had pretended not to notice, he looked like the Grim Reaper.

Silence reigned, no one knew what to say. Erec had tried to avoid any form of eye contact with me, I had always suspected that this part of him existed and there he was, innocently revealing himself.

I turned my gaze to his mistress, just like me, she seemed scared of Erec.

"Prince, in case you have forgotten, your wife is here." Landon faintly said.

With those words, Erec immediately stomped out of the room, which made Ethan the new center of attention as both Landon and the mistress fired cold stares at Ethan. The look in their eyes showed they understood what Ethan had said earlier.

Feeling left out of whatever was going on, I decided to leave the dining room for Erec's room. I knew that he would be there but it seemed that staying in Erec's room would be more pleasing than being close to Ethan and the mistress.

Without a word, I stood from my seat and walked away, at least, they would be given the opportunity to discuss whatever they had tried to hide from me.

Slowly but surely, I got to the door of the room. Knowing that behind that door was the vamp that had emotionally hurt me, I sighed.

In the next second, I slowly opened the door and as expected, Erec was seated on the bed while he stared blankly at the door. Of course, he had expected I would follow suit after he left the dining room.

But I had no plans to do anything other than to stare at him as I removed my gaze from him and went to sit on the royal couch.

Good lord, my gaze was not directed at Erec but I could sense his piercing gaze on me.

"Wife, I'm sorry for my rage."

It was then that I averted my gaze to him. Well, he did nothing wrong to me by getting angry, everyone, including the purest of the pure, gets angry once in a while.

I said nothing to him and that was all it took for Erec to get off the bed and walk up to me to sit on the couch.

Of course, I increased the distance between us, and hell, he was very displeased. Again, another deja Vu of what happened back at his car occurred as he also moved closer to me to shorten the distance between us, it continued until I got to the couch's handle.

"Wife, are you still giving me cold shoulders?" He asked the most obvious question.

It seemed that the fact that I cupped his face and said to him that he was not a monster had made him think that our previous issue had been rectified.

"Wife, why do I have a feeling that letting Beatrice stay here was not the only reason for your cold treatment?" He asked.

I sighed, at least he had solved a piece of the puzzle.

Getting no answer from me, Erec advanced to placing his palm on my hand, he knew that I would immediately jolt my hand away so he held it firmly.

"You know, you are my princess and I am your prince. We swore that we will always care for each other at the altar of our wedding and I plan on doing that but I don't think you are. How do you think I feel when my wife is not happy with me?" He gently said as he brought my hand to his lips and kissed it.

Those sweet words made me angry and I didn't plan to hide it, at least not anymore.

"Happy? How do you expect me to be happy after everything that you did?" I said with a slightly raised voice and as expected, Erec's eyebrows were slightly raised since he didn't expect me to burst out my anger.

"Wife, what did I do wrong? I said I was sorry for letting Beatrice stay here." He said as he stared into my eyes.

Those words were so annoying that they made me subconsciously face-palm myself.

"You did a lot of things Erec, why do you always act oblivious? You said you wouldn't hurt me but you did the opposite of what you said."

I couldn't believe what I had said but my mouth and feelings were ready to pour out my emotions to him.

"Can you please just fucking tell me what I did wrong?" I was taken aback by his choice of words and how he sounded. I hated to admit but I didn't expect that he would actually raise his voice at me.

My weakness overtook me as tears started to flow down my cheeks but Erec didn't show any sign of sympathy as he blankly stared at me.

"Why didn't you push her away when she kissed you? Why did you allow her to passionately embrace you even in my presence? Why did you leave me all alone last night just so you could sleep with her? And why did you allow her to stay when you know of the relationship you shared with her?"

I cried out those words but instead of giving me an answer, Erec cursed and in the next moment, he stood up from the couch and walked out of the room.

As expected, he definitely wouldn't have had an explanation for my questions.

That explained why the mistress was so cocky, she knew that she was the only one in Erec's heart and I was more than sure that she would take that to her advantage. A fter all, it was not every female out there that would ever have a chance to be acquainted with Erec and when one manages to be acquainted with him, she will surely hold on to him tightly.
