Song Yun was the War General of the Great Zen Empire. After being betrayed by his fiancée, he was sentenced to death. A miracle occurred and he found out that he did not die, but he instead transmigrated into the body of Cassius Winter, a Duke from the enemy Empire of Lumina who is known to all as the Lumina Empire's Sword. "General, we need to retreat. The Rayden Empire has too many soldiers compared to us. Plus, we have severe casualties." Bai Lin, Song Yun's second in command reported.
"No. We will return victorious. Tell our soldiers to bring out the big boys." Song Yun replied calmly.
Bai Lin's eyes widened in shock but he still replied promptly, "Got it, General."
The big boys, as General Song Yun referred to, were specialized weapons that Song Yun invented that could infuse a soldier's magical ability into a weapon through the use of a power stone which is infused into the soldier's weapon of choice.
Because of this new invention, they gained the upper hand in this war.
After Bai Lin left to inform his troops, Song Yun got ready for war. He carefully put on his armor and grabbed his sword.
In the land of Jules, there were three great Empires. The Rayden Empire, the Zen Empire, and the Lumina Empire.
The three Empires have been at war since ancient times, occasionally calling for a peace treaty to do trade and joining together annually to kill lurking demons on the border.
A Demon Emperor exists, but no one has ever seen him before. Instead, they only saw demons near the borders between the three Empires. The legend says that the Demon Emperor lives in the Shadow Land, located in another realm. The only way to get there was if your soul was tainted or you received a personal invitation from the Demon Emperor himself. Many believe that his ability is to shapeshift, so he could appear to be anyone.
Song Yun thought it was quite ridiculous. What was the point of the war? Not even the Royal family remembers as it started eons ago.
About 20 percent of the population wields magical abilities. Only a fraction of that percent is commoners while the rest have noble blood.
Song Yun is one of the rare commoners that have magical abilities. Because of his magical ability, he was able to leave the slums and become a wealthy and powerful war general at just 18 years old. He was considered a genius because the average life span was 150 years for a non-magic user and 600 years for a magic-user.
This battle was the final battle before he could return home to his fiancée, Hao Yu. Hao Yu was the son of the Imperial Advisor and he was granted this marriage due to his many achievements.
Song Yun wanted to quit his job as a War General to spend time with Hao Yu. Song Yun thinks that Hao Yu must have been lonely living in a mansion by himself with only riches and jewels to comfort him. He knows that materialistic things can not comfort his fiancée during his long stay at war but at least it will bring Hao Yu a small ounce of joy.
They have been engaged since last year when they were both 19 years old. Although they met only a few times, Song Yun grew to love Hao Yu. He couldn't wait to finish this battle to return home to surprise Hao Yu.
