Chapter 1 - “Mia Besna”

I was walking to my school like a regular day, it felt like a cycle; wake up everyday at 7 Am, brush your teeth, you know, the usual. Then Every day I would walk 20 minutes to my school, just to learn about chemistry, maths, health and whatnot, it was honestly boring.

I would regularly meet my friends on the way to school, and there was one friend I would like to share. I was observing nature until I saw one of my great best friends, Olivia, she is such a great friend. We met in 1st grade and immediately became best friends, we had many things in common.

Ever since we met it's been like she is a sister to me, we would never leave each other's side, no matter what. I loved her like a sister, and she felt the same, I saw it in her eyes whenever she would look at me with a happy expression, ready to do whatever.

"Hey Mia!" she said happily, "do you remember the vacation?" she asked happily,

The vacation she was talking about was going to the beach. It wasn't exactly a vacation, we are going with our class, but I was so excited about it! I love swimming, I have been swimming ever since I was, what, 5 years! And I'm 12 now! I have been wanting to go to the beach for such a long time! The last time I have been at the beach was about 3 years ago, and I've been going to swimming practice at pools since I wasn't able to find any beaches in Canada. So you can tell when my teacher notified us about the trip, I was ecstatic!

"Oh definitely! I have been waiting for this day for such a long time! When is it again?" I asked,

"what you haven't heard? They emailed our parents that it was going to be today, your mom didn't tell you?"

"No? But luck was on my side, because I decided to back up for today, wow my level of luck eh?" I said chuckling. I opened my bag and showed her my swimsuit. That one moment was probably the luckiest moment of my life.

We both got to school, a lot of the students were excited to go, I gave Olivia a confused look,

"I thought only our class was going" I pointed out,

"I…I guess not then" She said in a confused tone, she looked like she didn't know either, which was pretty understandable. We decided to go to our class line, because those still exist in 7th grade. Suddenly I see one of my enemies, Daniel, he was your daily annoyance.

Sometimes I wonder how this guy even made it into 7th grade. I would expect him to not even pass 2nd grade, which is when I think this idiot started school. Maybe when he was a baby, he got his head hit on a cabinet, which went for him to lose a few brain cells, that would explain a lot,

"Hey Mia, Mia the Ikea!" Daniel mocked. This guy forgot what 10/2, he is very weak, the worst roaster, a teacher's pet, and anything else you can think of, sometimes I think if he was a gift from hell! Sometimes I bet that he bribed the school to get him to this position. But I'm not here to make assumptions, I'm a girl of peace, well at least on the outside. I think about how I can destroy people, but I don't actually do it, even though I have all the strength in the world,

"Hello Daniel" I sighed at his rude comment. I feel like if I said anything "bad" he would tell the teacher and make it worse. I do martial arts, and the thing that I learned was only use it self defence, never overreact in contact, but I think Olivia had different plans, she was that type of "over protective" friend, and if anything happened to me or anyone else of her friends, she would annihilate them, or anyone if they even touch me incorrectly, even though I was stronger than her, but I will give it to her, she is my best friend after all, I could accept it,

"Daniel, don't even start this, I will shove a whole fist into your face if you lay a finger onto her, then you will be wailing on the floor, and then I will-" Daniel interrupted Olivia and said,

"Oh try me Olivia, you would never actually fight someone like me, and you wouldn't now, cause I could just tell the teacher" Daniel said proudly.

I was about to lose it, but I didn't do anything. Wasting my energy on a lower lever fool would bring me down to their level just showing how weak I am. Olivia knew if she did anything to him she would get in trouble, so she just gave him a glare and grabbed my arm tightly to get away from him. After we were a reasonably distance away from the idiot, she turned back I looked back, and I saw a grin on his face,

"Mia, you know how this guy is! You can't just let him harass you! We would be here for eternity if you kept doing this!" she said while glaring from me back at him,

"Well look, if I do anything, he would tell the teacher, the teacher would tell my parents, and you know where that's going" I answered back,

"Well you can't let him control your life, Mia! You are stronger than me! Use that strength!" She said back, grasping my shoulders a little tighter and shaking me like a maraca,

"Look, I don't care about Daniel, he could bully me all he wants, I'm just looking forward to the day at the beach!" I said with a little smile on my face.

"You are really unpredictable are you Mia" she smiled,

I shrugged, "let's talk later, we better be going"

When we came into our class, our teacher, Mrs.Maria came into the class, she was one of those teachers that had favourites, but still tried to make everyone happy, so then she begun,

"hello class, a little change of plans, we decided to book a little earlier. If you don't want to swim, that's completely fine! You can just sit on the sandy side of the beach with other classmates or classes. In Fact, the 7th and 8th graders are all going to the beach, it's called Kosola beach, it's pretty big, and make sure to stay in our class" she explained ad I felt a tap on my palm from Olivia,

"I thought there were no beaches in Canada, no?" She asked, clearly confused,

I sighed, "I don't know Olivia"

"We will leave now to not keep anyone waiting and we will stay there until 2:10 Pm, but don't worry,

We will go another day too, but we are leaving right now. The bus ride should take about 30 minutes, and last thing, enjoy!" After she finished that, the whole class fled out like WW3 was breaking out and they needed to go to a bunker. You know it's the first time I have seen my whole class line up in a single file line without the teacher telling us! And they weren't even talking!

Not even Daniel! I decided to join my class since I was really looking forward to finally having a day at the beach, after a million years. We went outside to the bus, and I could see other classes coming out. This one guy that had a fat crush on me, Jonah, but everyone calls him John.

He wished for me to call him the same, but I could see that everyone that called him John, either had a crush on him, or was his friend. He gave me a wink and went to his friends, I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but I saw they were hyping him about something, eh probably me. But the world doesn't revolve around me, might as well let them enjoy what they were doing. Sometimes I was thinking what he did in his room, or really anyone else who had a crush on me. I guess the anime movies about boys being absolutely obsessed with their crush really got to my head, I was kinda forced to watch it since that was the only thing on the Tv. I was thinking to what I could to Daniel, yea I said I was a girl of peace, but I also imagined how I could torture him, although I wasnt actually going to do it, for obvious reasons. Some days he says stuff that are so out of boundaries, weird, and insecure things, that I wondered if he didn't bribe the teachers into letting him pass classes, because I know his mom makes pretty good money, I didn't hear about his dad though, weird, maybe he did another kind of job? I was thinking about what I would do at the beach. As soon as I put on my swimming goggles, and I would raced to dive into the ocean.
