Air

Chapter 1

There was no air inside the dark, murky hole; there was nothing but dirt and open space. Still, if you looked carefully in the right-hand corner of the square-shaped hole, there sat a little girl, long hair reaching past her feet lay beside her, radiating the colour of blood.

A Victorian-styled dress that seemed tailored to belong to only her is what she wore, along with a choker with a breathtaking black jewel embedded into it. Tucked underneath her dress's skirt were two thin, pale legs that could only be described as the shade of white as the girl carefully folded her small arms together.

The overgrown frontal bangs covered her face, but if her face were visible, you would be able to see a ghostly pale face of a stunning child. Although pale and cracked, her two thick lips could still see the former rosy colour that they portrayed.

At first glance, this girl would be seen as a large porcelain doll, made by a true master who's had eons upon eons of study. Still, a third look later, you would see that the toy was a little too realistic with its overgrown nails and the exquisite detail. Then you would finally realize that it was not a doll you were looking at, but a dead child. The body was put in a way that made you think that she was taking a little nap; in a way, that was true, but that's an explanation for another time. If one had a keen eye, they would be able to see that the girl's body was dead; yet why didn't it seem to rot? No pungent smell roamed around the hole; her body was as if she were taking a nap.

The hole the girl was in wasn't something a human being could dig up. It was made so deep into the ground that no human would be able to dig, even with an extended life of 200 years to the average human lifespan. No exits were made, for it was intended that what was sealed could never get out. But it was a cage made from what humans called the earth's core, said to be the most vital substance both physically and spiritually. It is said to be able to hold the strongest monsters that plagued the universe. The silence that surrounded the cage grew even thicker, if that was even possible, as the non-existing eyes focused back on the girl. Looking at her, you could confirm 100% that she was dead, for the body was just too pale, and there was no air available this deep into the ground. The girl's pale lips twitched, and if you listened closely, you could barely hear a still audible gasp of a sweet and deadly voice.

There was a reason that this girl was sealed away here, and the world was about to find out why.

First book here on inkstone. I don't have the smarts to be able to write as good as the masters in this world of books (like my friend), but I'll write to the best of my abilities. I hope to gain all of your support :)
