The Secrets of Sylaenalond

The morning bells ring, Elvina gets up all excited since today is finally the day where she will be travelling to the capital city, Yst Falas, where she will be attending the Magic Academy which was first meant for the human nobles who lived in the capital city but starting today she as well will be attending the academy of magic.

 Elvina runs downstairs to greet her mother and father, after that she opens her door, runs out and towards the wall gates with her luggage, as she gets closer to the gate walls, she sees an elderly fall to the ground, spilling all of her groceries, Elvina then decides to stop, she walks towards the old lady and helps her, the older lady then looks at Elvina and says " thank you my dear", Elvina then just smiles at her and starts running again.

She then arrives at the gates and asks a travelling merchant if he was going towards the capital, the merchant just nodded, elvina then asks the merchant if he could give her a ride, the merchant seems uninterested so she then shows him 3 gold coins, the merchant eyes widens for a split second and then accepts it.

Elvina then hops on the back of the wagon and sits down, she places her luggage next to her and holds onto it.

After 7 hours, she finally arrives in Yst Falas. 

Elvina then jumps out of the wagon and thanks the merchant.

She then begins to look for an Inn, somewhere where she will be staying for 4 days, She then starts walking around the Hotel district and finds a hidden entrance to a beautiful garden, Elvina then looks around to then see the reception desk, she walks towards it but realises that no one was there, she then decides to ring the tiny bell which was located to the left of her, she waits for a minute, then decides to ring the bell again, she waits for another minute until a girl with animal like ears walks out of a door which was covered with vines, Elvina then looks at the girl in awe and whispers to herself " Woah, A beast girl?", the girl then looks at her and nods , Elvina then covers her mouth and apologises , the Girl just laughs and later on says " People tend to call us Demi Humans, since we're part Monster."

Elvina then drops her hands next to her waist and asks quietly " Do the Humans here discriminate our species?"

The Beast girl Then looks at Elvina and asks " Do you mean, Demi humans and elves?", Elvina nods, The beast girl then replies " Some do and some don't "

Elvina then looks confused at the girl and asks " Well how many of the humans hate us?".

The Beast girl then lifts her hands and shows the number 9, Elvina then asks again " 9%?" The beast girl shakes her head, Elvina then tries again, "90% of the humans ?" The girl then nods, Elvina then lets out a gasp and then replies " But do the humans know that this was once an elven city?"

The girl shakes her head and says " Most of the humans who reside here have forgotten of the thousand year war" She then Looks at Elvina and asks " Do you know about the Thousand year war?", Tilting her head.

Elvina then nods and quietly says " My Family partook in the war, including me though I was just 200 years old back then." 

The Beast girl then tilts her head and has a face of confusion, She then asks Elvina for her age, Elvina then says that she is 3,219 years old.

The Beast girl then looked at Elvina and asks once again " why do you look so young?"

Elvina then chuckles and says " We elves age differently, for example, my father is 8,243 years old and my mother is 8,123 but they still look as if they were 30."

The beast girl then looks in awe and says " I have never met an Elf", Elvina then corrects The beast girl " actually we're a different species of elves, We're high Elves, You can see the difference with our ears, mine are bigger than the regular elves" She then shows the Demi human her ears. 

Elvina then explains to her that most High elves tend to hide their ears with magic, making them a lot smaller, the Demi human then tilts her head and asks " Why do you hide your ears?", Elvina then casts a spell making her ears a lot smaller than they were and then says " It's so we don't get kidnapped by people who traffic Demi humans, elves and so on, High elves are a lot more rarer than woods elves, which means high elves have a higher selling price then other species."

The two girls continued on talking for multiple hours until Elvina noticed that the sun has set, she then interrupts the girl and asks with a kind voice " sorry but may I get my room key? I am quite tired" the girl then apologies to Elvina and hands her the key, as Elvina began to walk away the Demi human shouted " My name is Mia by the way!", Elvina then turned around, smiling and replied " pleasure to meet you, Mia" and then turns around and goes up her stairs, towards her room, she enters, drops off her luggage, jumps onto the bed and gives out a big sigh, Elvina then falls asleep.
