The Melody of Dissent

At the height of her fame, twenty-seven-year-old Maria Vegh, the beloved vocalist of the soft-rock band "The Dissidents," announced her retirement from music. Hours later, she was found in her locked hotel room, hanging from a noose. As her devotees decorated the streets with vigils and portraits, Detective Catherine Alcott refused to participate in the mourning until her scepticism around the narrative is dealt with. Self-exiled from her birth nation, the totalitarian state of Gyseia, Maria dedicated her life to bringing awareness towards the government's actions and supporting institutions providing refuge for their victims. With an end to Maria's life, a message was sent to every other escapee from Gyseia. As a mysterious hunter works to eliminate all other deviants in the seaside town of Vallago, a race for the truth ensues. With the aid of her friend and journalist, Ryan Wallace, Catherine seeks to expose the crimes of Gyseia to the whole world.
