Chapter -1

It was a bright and sunny day. Lia was staring out of the window of the cafe, where she worked as a part timer. She had many part time jobs for living and for her University fees. She felt a light tap on her shoulder, she turned around to see who it was. It was her boss, Ms. Brown.

She was like a mother to Lia. After Lia's mother died, when she was 14, Ms. Brown, her mother's best friend, took care of her and gave her the job and helped her through rough times.

"What are you daydreaming?" Ms. Brown asked.

"It's  nothing." Lia said bowing.

" Okay, go on with your work." Lia nodded.

"She sighed, even though Ms. Brown is strict sometimes, she still cares for all the staff, that's why it was her favorite part time job and partially because she liked the smell of coffee.

"Lia!" Someone called her. She turned around to the sound source.

"Natasha!" Lia smiled.

"Are you free today?" Lia shook her head in No.

" You said you would spend time with me." Natasha pouted. Lia chuckled at her childishness.

"Next time, okay?" Lia looked at her with puppy eyes.

"Okay." Natasha stopped pouting and gave a bright smile. Lia went back to her work.

Soon it was time for her next and last part time job. She went to the departmental store. She wore the staff jacket and waited for customers to come. She was arranging the groceries, when someone entered.

She was a tall, red haired girl, with an angelic face.

"Excuse me." She said in a soft voice. Lia turned to see who it was. Loa smiled and approached her.

"How may I help you?" Lia asked politely. She asked Lia where she can get cereals.

"Let me show you the way." Lia offered.

"Thank you." The girl smiled.

The girl paid and went.

" Comeback again. " Lia smiled and turned to her work.

Soon it was time to leave work. She bowed to her boss and walked down dark alley. The store was near to her house, so it wasn't a big deal walking at night. She soon reached her house, after her mother's death, she lived there alone. She don't know who her father was, as her mother was a single parent.

She was unlocking the door, when she heard some vehicle stopped in front of her neighbour's house. To be honest, there were no neighbours on her right side. Maybe someone new cane, as she heard about it a week ago. She wondered who it was. She thought se should meet them, but it was too late to visit them. So, she thought, before going to work she will visit them.

The night passed by, as the darkness again vanished with the raising sun.

Lia woke up from the ring of her doorbell. She sleepily went downstairs and opened the door. Her eyes were no more sleepy as she saw the same girl from the departmental store.

"You live here?" She asked.

"You remembered me?" Lia smiled.

"Of course I did." The girl nodded. Then Lia remembered, her new neighbour.

"So, hey, I am your neighbour, Kaitlyn. Nice to meet you." The girl smiled.

Nice to meet you too. I am Lia." Lia smiled.

"Hope we will be great friends." Kaitlyn said. Lia nodded.

Later that day, Natasha and Lia were hanging out together. Lia told her about the new neighbour thing.

"That abandoned house?" Natasha asked. Lia nodded while sipping her juice.

They talked about this and that.

"Wanna come for a sleepover?" Lia invited her.

"Sounds good." Natasha partially dragged Lia at this idea. Lia just smiled.

They were walking towards her house, when something caught her eye. She tried to looked at it properly but because of the darkness, it was quite faded. The person somewhat looked quite familiar, she thought.

"Are listening to me? Is someone there?" Natasha asked.

"Uh. Oh. Nothing." Lia smiled. She shrugged off the feeling and went to her house.

In the dark alley, someone was walking, simultaneously checking, if someone was following. That person turned around the alley and saw the target.

The target shivered very badly.

"W...why are y...you he..here?" He stammered.

The person just grinned and creepily advanced towards the target and stopped in front of the target.

"To kill you." The whisper sent shivers down the person's spine.

It was so fast that the target didn't had time to react. Blood splashing around the area.

"Good bye." The person grinned creepily.
