The Godly Demon System

"Are they at it again?" Dreamer said while lying on the bed.

"Why can't they compromise with each other and live peacefully?" 

He was talking about the Gods and Demons who were at a constant war with each other from eternity.

"Should I go take a look?" Dreamer asked himself.

It could be dangerous for him to go but after a few seconds, his curiosity got the better of him as he decided to watch the fight.

He got up and went outside his house.

"I wonder what they look lik… What the…"

Dreamer's eyes went wide. As soon as he came outside he was greeted with a view of a massacre.

Roars, war cries echoed inside his ears.

He roamed his gaze around the place and found nothing but blood. The ground turned crimson.

He shuddered at the sight, imagining the amount of bloodshed that took place.

"It's just as people described, the fights between Gods and Demons are extremely brutal!"

Dreamer had never witnessed a fight between them as the fights always took place far away from him.

But today, a fight between them was happening and he could see it. And as he saw it, he realized it was the same as people said… Brutal.

"Today you will be taking your last breath, Filthy Creature."

A heavy voice rang to Dreamer's right side.

He turned his head to see the source of the voice.

"God king!" His eyes went wide again.

Dreamer had only heard about the God king but now that he saw him personally, chills run down his spine.

God king floated in the air with a trident on his right hand.

No matter whether Dreamer saw him the first time or not, he knew the God King wasn't weak.

He dared not to look at his face, afraid that he might get seen.

He kept his head downwards, staring at the ground.

Sweat appeared on Dreamer's palms and his face went pale. 'I should go back. I should. Move. Just move.'

He repeated the same words to himself. He needed to go back inside his house. He couldn't stay here. Something inside him, forced him to run.

His mind knew what to do, but his body… it refused his command. His legs were cemented to the ground.

'Please. Ju-Just move!'

With one last push, his legs finally twitched and without any second thought, he turned back at his house.

Or so he thought…

"Haha. Right back at you, Worm."

Before he could move, another heavy voice rang to his left and he couldn't help but turn his head towards it.

"De-Demon King."

His heart threatened to crush his chest. He gulped and helplessly watched the two beings staring at each other.

Demon King also floated in the air, holding a scythe on his hands.

Just like God King, Dreamer did not dare to look at Demon King's face as well.

Dreamer had also heard about the Demon king. It was said that he was just as powerful as the God king.

Dreamer stood between the two kings, he knew he had to run but if he ran, he might get noticed by these two.

His mind ran through many questions and tactics to avoid such confrontation.

However, the main question that came to his mind was…

'Why the hell are they fighting in a place like this? They should fight in secluded planets or in space. Why here? Why close to my house?'

Meanwhile, both Kings didn't even register Dreamer, standing between themselves, or more like they didn't care about him at all.

Dreamer darted his eyes above, at them.

Both Kings stared at each other with fury in their eyes.

'What the…'

Thud!

Dreamer fell on his knees. An insurmountable pressure dawned upon him, making him unable to move.

"Take this."

"Bring it on."

Both of them threw their weapons at each other with all their might.

The weapons teared through air and proceeded to collide with each other.

But when the weapons were just about to collide with each other, something happened.

Dreamer, sitting on his knees, on the ground, just a few seconds ago started flying towards both weapons.

Both the Demon and God king frowned.

"What is this?" Demon King said. 

"Suicide?" God King spoke as well.

Both Kings just watched Dreamer flying towards the weapons, not moving an inch.

Dreamer on the other hand, was out of his wits. "What? Wait, what's happening? How am I flying? I don't even have any powers like them! I can't fly at all!"

Both Kings floated idly in the air, with their hands crossed in front of their chest. 

They looked like they were waiting to see what would happen.

"These… Help me! Save me! Stop your weapons!" Dreamer cried for help. He twisted his hands and legs in the air but to no avail, he didn't stop flying.

The Kings watched him going straight to his death.

Dreamer gritted his teeths. "You bastards! I swear if I get the chance I will stop this war between you even if I have to do it with force. Just you wait… Shit!"

Dreamer finally reached between the weapons, and as expected, the weapons pierced his both sides.

In an instant, he stopped moving, his eyes, filled with confusion, shock and fury, lost their light.

'If I had some power I would not be dying today. Not like this. Even a little power. I would have done something worthwhile. Just… some… power...'

His world went dark. Blood came out from his chest and back.

The blood flowed from his chest, then to his hands and then it reached his fingers and then it touched the ring on his left hand.

As soon as his blood touched the ring, it lit up in every color the universe had to offer. Colors so bright that made even the both powerful Kings close their eyes.

[ Ding! ]

A sound rang inside his mind. Gathering all the will power from his heart, he opened one of his eyes.

[ Requirements Met! ]

[ Gods and Demons Powers Acquired! ]

[ Initiating The Godly Demon System! ]

"Huh?"
