Chapter:4

After a while, a guard came to announce a notice. He said the queen has decided to make me her 'Personal Server'!!!

WHAT?! Noooo!!! I have almost finished my mission. I can't stay here forever! Oh no, I shouldn't have tried to impress her majesty and now she became fond of me and won't let me go!

Okay, calm down! I told myself. How can I think of my escape if I didn't calm down?!

I think I can't escape for now! At least not before a few days! I'll check the zone and come up with a way to escape from here later.

But what about my parents? I have to go home soon but I need the queen's permission to go out now! (someone just told me this information when I asked if I could go home! Gosh!)

Well, I decided to ask her today when I'll go to serve her dinner. Let's see what influence I can make upon her!

I was on a break from work so I went to sit under a big tree deep in the garden to have some rest. I have put down my hat which was a burden to wear all day. I wondered how every man wears it all the time!

From childhood, I had this hobby of observing nature silently sitting alone whenever I got a worry in my mind. It calms me down somehow.

A leaf fell in my hair by the soft breeze. I picked it up, thinking I should finish my job soon and get away from here and away from the royalty.

Prince Shen was working in his study hall. He looked out the window and decided to take walk. He went out, followed by Han right behind him.

Prince's favorite resting place in the garden, just where Su Mo Mo was sitting alone, oblivious of it. She didn't realize when Prince Shen came and saw her from afar and the surprised expression crossed over his majesty's otherwise unreadable expression.

Prince Shen stopped a few feet away when he saw someone sitting there. No one ever comes to this place because it is quite deep in the woods so, the prince used to come here with Han to spend some quiet time. And he never saw a servant spending the resting time sitting alone instead of sleeping or chatting with other servants in the servants' quarter. He recognized the servant, the one who came to serve earlier today. He stopped Han by raising a finger when he took a step to tell that servant to leave. Prince Shen decided to walk somewhere else and quietly left the place.

I felt someone was there just now but as I quickly turned to look, no one was there but I was sure I didn't just mistake it. I wondered how I didn't realize sooner as I never failed to notice someone's presence. I decided staying here any longer wouldn't be good so I got up and put on my hat and headed towards the kitchen.

I took the food from the chef and headed to the queen's palace. When I came in front of the palace, I saw her majesty's relatives were leaving. I went into her chamber, she was reading some book. I noticed the lamp wasn't bright enough so lit another lamp beside her table. She looked up and I'm sure she was a little surprised that I did that without her order. I quickly bowed and said, "Pardon me, your highness. I thought the light was dim and it might hurt your eyes so I lit another lamp."

She smiled and said, "You are not only good at your job but also clever in other things, I see."

I smiled gratefully and said, "Thank you, your highness, for honoring me with the title of your 'Personal Server'! I'm not sure I can meet your standards but I'll try my best, your highness!"

She nodded and asked as I wasn't leaving yet, "Do you wanna say anything else?"

I bowed my head and said, "I had a request to your majesty if you would hear me."

She asked raising one of her perfect eyebrows, "And what is it?"

I replied, "Can your majesty permit me to go home tomorrow? Because I need to go visit family as they didn't know I would be staying here from now on. They will be worried if I didn't return soon."

She seemed understanding and kind. She said nodding, "Yes, you may go. And you can often visit your family if you want, you have my permission."

I was very grateful and I couldn't help that huge smile that broke in my face and said, "You are the kindest and wisest, your highness!" I said a bit loudly, couldn't stop the relief wash over me.

Seeing me so happy she smiled a little and said, "Now, you may leave if you don't have anything else to say."

I thanked her once again and left happily. I have to do one more thing tonight. I have to write the report for this mission and send it to my client.

I'll make something up to tell my parents tomorrow! It won't be so easy! And I think I won't be able to sleep tonight thinking of an excuse that might be believable.

(Time skip to the morning)

Just as I thought, I couldn't sleep a wink last night! Today I woke up just when my sleep came around dawn by the call of two other guys who worked with me. They are friends and maybe took me as a friend. They were worried that I'll sleep in and become late for the reporting time. Well, I would have been if not for them. But waking up suddenly and seeing their faces hovering over my head, looking at me from so close made me freak out and I kind of screamed. They screamed too, freaking out hearing me scream!

"...AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!..."

The early morning's peace broke by our scream in the servants' quarter.

Hehe! Well, it's not my fault and of course, as I'm a girl, I'm not used to waking up to seeing two strange guys' faces hovering over my head!
