Evelina was still quite mad at West's decision of not coming with them to the ball. But since she could do nothing about it, she stayed quiet. But like a leaf in the wind, her mind swayed through different courses… and different curses.
Despite not being very vocal with her feelings, the other seemed to notice her annoyance with the fact that West was not coming.
"He said that he was just going to accompany Leila," said Royce. "Maybe he would try to catch up to us?"
But he would not.
West had already made it clear to the vampiress that he had no intention of changing his mind.
Evelina leaned her head on the coach's window, her mask getting in the way of feeling the cold glass against her skin.
