"Agh! Please no!"

"I'm beggin~Ahh!"

"Why are you~Ahhh!"

Desperate cries of anguish and despair sounded out from every direction, Weaving a symphony of misery that filled the battlefield. Two decades ago, Such a sight would have reduced me to a trembling wreck. Rivers of crimson blood cascading across the ground, Severed limbs scattered like trash. Who wouldn't be horrified by such carriage, No ordinary human could remain unshaken by a scene so grotesque.

But that was a lifetime ago, Literally.

I've changed since then.

Grown or I guess who could say evolved if you really wanted to be specific.

Of course saying l'd "grown" would be the understatement of the century to anyone who knew me back then. The me of the past thought this world was a nightmare.

As for the me of today, I was standing amidst a massacre and the only thing I felt in my chest was a faint twinge of boredom. To be honest, I just wanted this to be over with so l could retreat to the comfort of my palace I had built for myself.

And my beautiful wives of course.

"AGH!"

The scream of a man in resplendent golden armor ripped through the chaos. His voice ended abruptly as a blade cleaved cleanly through his torso, Leaving him to crumple lifelessly to the ground. The origin of all this bloodshed, The architect of this slaughter stood at the epicenter of the carnage. A solitary figure, Clad in pitch-black armor that obscured every inch of flesh.

Their presence was like a nightmare had come to life. The matte black metal covering their face curled upward into horns like those of the fables demons. The figure was extraordinarily tall and towered over the full grown men who looked like children in comparison. Probably about twelve feet tall if i was forced to give an estimate although you could definitely add a few inches to that, I was quite proud of my height but even I was forced to look upward.

The metal clad giant was dripping with the blood of those around but it was quite obvious to tell their gender. The reason being that the chest plate stuck out in an exaggeration fashion before curving back down to wrap around a thin waist, The back was the same with the figures rear jutting out showing a perfect hourglass even hidden beneath so much metal.

The long blade in the woman's hand sliced through the men who were donned in the famous golden armor I was sick of seeing. These were some of the best soldiers that the continent had to offer, The holy army blessed by the so called gods and yet they were being slaughtered like livestock, Not to mention that it was quite obvious that the tall woman wasn't even going all out yet.

The truth was that you couldn't place the blame of their lack of strength, It's just that the armored woman was just incredibly strong.

'Even I might have a bit of trouble with her if we were to fight seriously' I thought offhandedly as I watched a man get cleanly cut in half from top to bottom.

Of course I'd win but she was one of the dozen people on the continent that could still give me a tiny bit of trouble. Even the Holy Emperor and that self proclaimed barbarian king left me utterly bored these days, I hadn't had an exhilarating fight that boiled my blood since I was in my late teenage years.

"She's quite the woman isn't she?" I spoke through the wailing screams with a carefree voice.

"….." The person my words were directed toward didn't respond although I was sure he had heard them.

My gaze went down toward a man with white hair that was stained with his own blood. I wasn't one to pay attention to the same gender when it came to looks but I could admit he was attractive, Well at least he was when he still had both of his pine colored eyes in his skull.

"You know she has the blood of the ancient giants in her blood?" I smiled as I gossiped but he didn't seem to be in the mood for a chat.

'….' He just stared at the battlefield with a blank expression.

"….So the rumors about her were true then" Eventually though his calm voice rang out as he watched another one of his men get decapatated.

"The Iron Valkyrie truly is a monster" He muttered not looking away once from the slaughter.

"I heard of the terror she spread throughout the battle field but…It seems they weren't exaggerating" He let out a soft chuckle that was tinged with a bit of regret.

"You seem quite calm" I titled my head and stared down at the white haired man.

His identity was well known throughout the continent to the point even I had remembered his name.

Joseph, One of the Holy Emperors eight swords and a general of the holy army.

"You're watching your companions die and barely any reaction?" I asked with an off handed tone despite already knowing what his response would be.

"The gods are watching" Joseph turned to finally look at me and smiled brightly like he was mocking me although I knew it wasn't so.

"If we fall then it was their will…." He shook his head before staring up toward the sky with a feverish expression.

"Just as it will be their will when you fall one day as well….Crimson Sovereign" His words held not even a hint of uncertainty as if he truly believed them.

"The gods~Cug!" Joseph's words were cut sword as my blade flash forward and sliced through his throat.

"Boring" I let out a sigh wondering why I even tried to have conversations with these fools.

It was always the same pathetic religious babble that made me disgusted. Even to this day I didn't understand how one could have so much belief in beings that didn't seem to care about them, The only person I believed in was myself and the throne I sat on was the prize I had gotten for such beliefs.

'….' I watched as his hands gripped the wound trying to stop the fountain of blood.

His remaining eye looked up to meet my gaze, I felt nothing as he bleed out and in all honestly it kinda pissed me off that his blood had gotten on my shoes. I clicked my tongue as the life drained from his body before he fell limply on the ground.

One of the Holy Emperors eight swords had fallen.

My sight moved back toward the battle field that had slowly started to drain of the once harrowing screams. What remained was hundreds of bodies lying lifeless like their once famous commander, With a towering giant of metal and blood standing in the center.

"Are you finished Nova?" I raised my voice slightly drawing her attention as she slowly turned her head.

She walked in my direction while stepping over the corpses that posed no interference with her large strides. The closer she got the more I was forced to turn my head upward until she was right in front of me. I couldn't help but find my heart start to pound in my chest, Perhaps you would find it weird but I quite liked being looked down upon by such a tall woman.

"Yes" A calm emotionless voice sounded out as she proceeded to swing her blade letting the blood slid cleanly off.

"Shall we head back then?" I asked glancing at the carnage of blood and limbs with a slight smile for what was to come.

The news that one of the eight swords had died would spread.

I wondered how the Holy Emperor would react.

'….' And I trembled in anticipation hoping that he didn't disappoint.

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.

Check out my other book as well Lunar:Secret Guardians ******************* "Grey, elemental affinity, zero" The Elder announced the result loudly On hearing this, it was like a bolt of lightning struck Grey, he stood there dumbfounded and just stared at the Elder. Shocked voices could be heard from the people and there was some which were also filled with scorn. Grey stood dazed amidst all the noises without any reactions. One word was constantly reverberating in his head, 'How?'. 'Why, why did this happen to me?' Grey asked himself over and over again **************** Unbeknownst to Grey, something greater lies in wait in his body.... *************** Check out the book, leave a review after reading, and also your powerstones. Hope you enjoy this, and Thanks for reading ^_^ P.S: When I started this book I had zero writing experience, so the first chapters aren't that great, although, my writing quality has improved over time. Also, English isn't my first language, so there are some instances where my choice of words are not good enough for what I'm trying to portray. A heads up, the book will be using a medieval setting. My world building is not the best, but it gets better over time, so bear with me on the early chapters! P.S: Cover art not mine I just edited it. If you're the owner and want me to take it down you can notify me. Other novel: Lunar:Secret Guardians Check it out as well! Discord Server: https://discord.gg/gs68a4ZzaN
