The Eagle in the Sun

1st June, 1918, Palace of Versailles, France :

Representatives from the "Big Four" nations has arrived to discuss terms for peace. The nations are; the German Empire, United Kingdom, France and United States. There were silence all across the hall for first 5 minutes before the terms of peace was passed by the german representative, Thomas Frutzal.

The universal terms to the Entente were :-

• Withdrawal of British and French forces from Belgium.

• Withdrawal of Dominion and other allied forces.

• Withdrawal of American forces from Europe.

• France and Britain have to pay 2.4 million marks each as reparation to Germany.

• British and French navy, army and air force sizes have to be reduced by 60% respectively.

After this, started the terms of specific regions-

● Europe terms:-

• Abolishment of the Kingdom of Belgium and its replacement by the Union of Flanders-Wallonia. Replacement of the House of Brabant by the House of Hohenzollern, as the new rulers of Flanders-Wallonia.

• Merging of Luxembourg as a state in the German Empire.

• Nancy and Epinal to be given to Germany.

• Liege and german speaking parts of Belgium to be annexed by Germany.

● Africa terms :-

• Return of German colonies occupied during the war.

• French Congo, Southern West Africa, Madagascar, Mauritius, Togoland, Gabon,Seychelles; British Malawi, Malta, Cyprus, Kenya, Zanzibar and Belgium Congo to be given to Germany.

• Nullification of the Heligoland-Zanzibar Treaty of 1890.

● Middle East terms :-

• Kuwait to be given to the Ottoman Empire.

• Sinai Peninsula to be the new border between the Ottomans and Egypt.

• Anglo-Egyptian Sudan to be given to Egypt.

• Gulf Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain to be German protectorates.

● East Asia and Pacific terms :-

• Return of all occupied german colonies in China and the Pacific.

• German recognition of Japanese sovereignty over Port Arthur and Liaodong Peninsula.

• All British and French colonies in the Pacific(except Fiji, Australia and New Zealand) to be given to Germany.

• United States occupation of French Polynesia.

The treaty was put into effect after all the representatives of the four nations sighed; thus effectively ending the Weltkreig(The Great War or WW1) in Western Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
