Chapter 1Chapter 1: Strange Cave

Centuries ago, all the monsters and beasts had gathered together to attack all the races in the world. Cities burned and lives were lost, all because of one dragon.

Krios, the strongest dragon ever recorded in history with his unimaginable control of the darkness element and his seemingly immortal body, had brought all the beasts under his rule.

The four races, the humans, the elves, the demons, and the werewolves couldn't stand idly by and watch as Krios brought havoc upon the world, and so for the first time, the four races of the world united in order to stop Krios and his army.

Hundreds of thousands of soldiers and mages worked together in order to stop the monsters from reaching their homes and fought with everything they had. Yet despite everything, the joint effort of the races were still pushed back by the overwhelming number of beasts.

And that is when they appeared. The four heroes of the four races. Damian of the humans, Sylvia of the elves, Kabato of the demons, and Kylo of the werewolves.

Known as the four strongest beings in the world, the four's appearance had changed the tide of battle and were beginning to push back the beasts. This angered Krios causing him to come to the battlefield himself and confronted the four heroes which led to one of the most earth shattering battles to have ever taken place.

Inconceivable amounts of damage was caused to the world, changing the landscape and destroying anything that came remotely close to the fight.

Krios was unable to defeat the four heroes as their joint effort put him in a corner. But at the same time, due to his seemingly immortal body, the heroes were unable to destroy him, bringing the fight to a standstill.

Then, the heroes gathered all their power and created a powerful magic array which managed to seal Krios in the very battlefield that they had fought in. But as a cost, they used all their life force to create the array, causing their bodies to fall and turn to dust.

But because of them, after sealing Krios, the beasts had lost their will to fight and scattered away from the fight, leading to the victory of the races.

But the races didn't stop there. Which the remaining troops that they had, they went and killed every single dragon that they could find in order to prevent another thing like this from happening.

Though some say that some of the remaining dragons had removed their souls from their bodies. But these souls were destroyed. However, there is a rumor that a soul managed to make it through the slaughter, and this soul was the soul of the dragon Essie who was Krios's second in command, but the rumor was never confirmed.

John listened to the story with shining eyes as he trembled in excitement.

"Okay children it's getting late, it's time for bed." Said the elderly woman on a rocking chair with a slightly old book in her hands.

The 20+ children who were lying down on the carpet listening to the story groaned in dissatisfaction as they complained.

"But mama Loreen, were not sleepy, and we want to listen to more stories." John said as he rolled on the ground causing Mama Loreen to chuckle.

"Well you all have to sleep or else you will be tired tomorrow morning." Mama Loreen replied causing the children who looked no older than 12 to make dissatisfied sounds but they said nothing else as they had already expected this outcome but still tried nonetheless.

The children were all orphans and Mama Loreen was the caretaker that looked after them.

They orphanage was in the kingdom of Avrion which was one of the kingdoms in the human continent.

The orphanage wasn't very popular and was built in the outer city of the kingdom were commoners and peasants a commonly seen. It is also very close to the wilderness which caused it to be frequently attacked by wild beasts, the only that protected them was a 10 feet tall cobblestone wall and some slightly trained guards.

The orphanage would receive a monthly allowance from the kingdom which barely enough to get everyone fed.

John walked towards one of the rooms that was for the children while talking with his best friend Ronald.

"Hmph, when I turn thirteen, I will awaken magic that is strong enough to rival that of the four heroes and then I will make this orphanage prosper." John said with determination but then Ronald just sighed.

"I get you're enthusiastic but don't be naive, the chances of someone awakening magic is one in a thousand, and awakening magic that is even a bit strong is even lower." Ronald said as they entered a wooden room that had five beds next to each other.

The two of them along with the other children that stayed in this room entered and got on their beds to sleep including Ronald and John.

3 HOURS LATER

As everyone was soundly asleep, John suddenly opened his eyes and looked around the room and checked on everybody making sure that everyone was asleep.

When he saw that they were all asleep, John wore a pair of slippers and slowly made his way to the window at the end of the room and opened it quietly. He then proceed to climb through it. Luckily, the orphanage had only two floors and this room was on the first floor, so he didn't hurt himself.

After he snuck out of the orphanage, he quickly walked through the outer city of the kingdom, directly towards the wall.

It took him five minutes to get to the wall as the orphanage wasn't very far away from it and started looking for something. After a minute of searching, he found what he was looking for, a bush that was on the side of the wall.

John gently pushed the bush out of the way revealed a hole that was 1.2 meters in diameter.

John then got on his knees and crawled through the hole and came out of the other side of the wall.

John took in a deep breath to appreciate the fresh air of the wilderness before running into the forest ahead to avoid the guards on the wall.

When he reached the forest, he looked around before facing east.

'I haven't gone east yet so let's go in that direction.' John thought to himself before walking in that direction.

This is something that John has been doing since he was nine, he would sneak out of the kingdom and let his imagination run wild.

Soon, in his vision, the ground had already become a fierce battlefield. Mages and monsters clashing on the ground and warriors with their flying mounts fighting in the sky.

John imagined himself raining down giant fireballs from the sky as he completely dominated the battlefield and was laughing like a maniac.

However, while drowning in his own imagination, he suddenly tripped on something causing him to fall. This wouldn't have been a problem apart from the fact that when he tripped, he fell into a steep cave.

As John was falling, he reacted quickly by bringing his hands to protect his face as he tumbled down the steep cave entrance.

Luckily for him, it was quite smooth so he didn't sustain any injuries apart from a few scratches.

When he stopped falling, he got up and dusted his body before looking up at were he fell from.

"Well that could've been way worse so I'm not gonna complain." John commented.

"Now how to get back up." He began to ponder as he walked around the cave. Suddenly, a ray of light hit his eyes causing him to close them reflexively.

"Wait, a light in a cave at night!?" John's interest was immediately piqued as he stared at the turn that led to the back of the cave. He thought about going but then he hesitated.

"On one hand, if I go and it's something dangerous, I die. On the other hand, if it's some sort of artifact, I could sell it for a bunch of money." He thought about the pros and cons before coming to a decision.

"If it was something dangerous, it would have probably killed me by now, plus, I don't have much to loose. So let's go take a look." He finally decided and started to walked deeper into the cave.

As he walked deeper, the light became brighter and brighter. He then saw a bunch of vines that seemed to prevent him from seeing whatever was behind them.

After a moment, he walked through the vines and for a moment, his vision distorted as if he was falling through space before he was on the other side.

John gasped in awe and surprise at what he saw on the other side. He was in a large room that was at least 30 meters tall and wide with all sorts of plants growing along the floor and colourful crystals protruding from the walls. But what caught his attention was the large pedestal in the middle of the room.

The pedestal was blue in color with marking of different dragons that looked very life like on its surface.

At the very top of the pedestal was a blue orb the size of a head that gave of a dignified aura as it illuminated the room.

John suddenly seemed to have entered a trance as he walked towards the pedestal and climbed it before coming face to face with the orb.

He was about to grab the orb before he suddenly stopped and slapped himself, snapping out of the trance.

"What the heck am I thinking, this could be the seal for some powerful monster that could wreak havoc on the world for all I know." John said as he stared at the orb before deciding to leave.

But just as he moved his leg to turn, he accidentally stepped on some loose gravel causing him to trip.

He the instinctively grabbed the floating orb to stop himself from falling, but it just fell along with him and he hit the ground with a *Thud*

John was dazed for a moment before he realized something and his eyes widened as he looked at the blue orb in his hands and sucked in a cold breath.

He quickly stood up to try and put the orb back in place, but what happened next shocked him. As he wanted to place the orb down, it suddenly began to expand and change shape right in front of his eyes.

He was rooted to the ground as what he saw was something that he only saw in stories. The orb took the shape of a massive translucent blue dragon that looked at John indifferently.

Then, the massive dragon turned into a mass of blue energy that immediately surrounded John and began to enter his body. He wanted to cry out but then found that he couldn't do so as his entire body wouldn't listen to him. Instead, a very comfortable feeling entered his body as the energy was entering him. He felt like he was in a hit spring and for a moment, forgot about himself and the situation that he was in currently.

After a minute, the energy had completely entered his body and the room was quite. John then opened his eyes, but instead of his brown pupils, there was a blue reptilian like slit in his eyes. But he blinked and they went back to normal.

John stood there for a moment in a daze before he regained his senses and looked around.

"Wha- What was that." He stammered fearfully. Suddenly, the room trembled and pieces of stone and dust fell from the ceiling to the floor.

John saw this and his pupils constricted as the trembling became worse.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no." He said before he began to run towards the entrance from the pedestal while large pieces of rock fell from the ceiling, crushing the pedestal that he was on a moment ago and the places around him.

John ran as fast he could while doing his best to not get turned into meat paste from the falling rocks.

But then as he was nearing the exit, a very large chunk of the ceiling fell, and it was going to land right in front of the entrance.

John saw this and grew desperate. He was still at most 8 meters away from the entrance and the rock was falling faster than he could run.

Then he mustered all the energy that he could and ran even faster, but it still wasn't enough. Then all of a sudden, he felt that his body was brimming with energy. He didn't think twice and just ran with all his strength.

In that moment, though he didn't notice, blue scales had appeared on his feet and his pupils once again became blue slits.

Then, He gathered up all the energy in his body into his legs and jumped with all his might towards the exit.

As he jumped, the world seemed to slow down as he saw the large boulder come closer and closer while was about to reach the exit.

*Crash* A loud sound was heard throughout the cave as John barely made past the boulder through the exit.

John got on his knees as he retched on the floor profusely until he started dry heaving and coughing violently.

After that, he put his hand on his chest as he felt like his heart was going to tear through his chest and his breathing was ragged. Before he knew it, he started crying loudly as he curled up on the floor.

After 30 minutes, his breathing finally stabilized and he got up from the floor while trembling and cleaned the tears from his face.

He then walked towards the entrance of the cave and began to climb while putting his center of mass forward to keep himself from falling.

Finally, he got out of the cave and walked back to the wall and crawled through the hole in the wall and walked through the outer city towards the orphanage while avoiding the patrols of the city guards.

He then reached the orphanage and crawled through the window and entered his bed before sleeping almost immediately.

Young Master's PoV: Woke Up As A Villain In A Game One Day

"Now you see?" she shouted in a mix of annoyance and disappointment. "You can't outsmart Scrients! They're the most intelligent beings across the two realms." "You're right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a heavy sigh. "I made a mistake. I was too arrogant to think that a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "Heik! Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I'm not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait, you can't. I killed them all.” ______ My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid, pointless scuffle, and in the middle of it, I tripped and hit my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in - the memories of another life, of a different world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First, I was in a game I used to play in my past life. Second, I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool and mysterious kind, either. No, my destiny was to be manipulated and die a dog's death! I was the worst type of cliché: an ungrateful, privileged, insufferable young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. The kind everyone hates — a snobby brat from a powerful noble family who thinks he owns the world just because he was born with a silver spoon lodged in his mouth. You know the type. The one the hero beats to a pulp to prove his worth. Yeah, I was that guy. And the hero? The hero was the kid I’d been bullying all this time. The same one I got into a fight with. He was the supposed savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And at the end of it all, the final antagonist of the game, the undefeatable boss… the Spirit King, was waiting. But could I even make it to the end? Could I conquer a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that was now my reality! “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could, but I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, twisting the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains before they could become threats - nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected? Who cares! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me—my survival, my life, my choices. “I will live this life with no regrets.” …But as I soon discovered, fate was not easily changed. And the price of altering one's destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR
