Scion of Light
Garen Reveck, a historian fascinated with the art of war, dies at the age of thirty two. From ancient battle tactics used by Mesopotamians to modern warfare involving assault rifles and missiles, he loved it all. Reading about legendary strategists such as Alexander the Great, Cao Cao, Hannibal Barca, and Napoleon Bonaparte command the battlefield with such expertise sent a shiver down his spine. Simulating their legendary battles in his mind became a favorite past time of his. He dedicated an unhealthy amount of time to his study which left his body frail and weak. War was his addiction.
His soul is retrieved before it reaches Heaven and brought to an unknown world. Inhabiting the form of a human fetus, he is left without answers for what transpired after his death. Issues arise upon his birth as his memories of Earth are stripped from him and his sense of self shattered. All that remains is a naive child who knows nothing of his past but is destined to rule an empire. He is the Scion of Light, none shall shine brighter than him.

Two chapters a week. Potentially a third or fourth chapter a week if this novel really takes off. Keep in mind, I am a full time doctorate student so my time is limited. Most chapters are 3,000+ words.
I am writing this novel as a method to challenge myself in preparation for Liberator, a future novel of mine still far from completion.
