Take my hand

Maya felt the wind gust against her face and tossed every strand of her hair, she closed her eyes and smiled softly facing the sea.

The rolling waves made a rhythmic sound so soothing.

After returning from Maya's parents' graves, Marve deliberately took Maya to the beach which is located not far from where Maya used to live, because all the way Maya was just silent and stared sadly as if she was covering the wound in her heart, it made Marve feel as if he could feel the sadness that Maya felt because he also always became gloomy after visiting the graves of his parents. Their wounds are indeed the same maybe that's why they were able to get close in such a short time.

"It's been a year since I returned to Jakarta, but this is my first time to this beach," Maya said.

"Where did you live before? "

"I live in Borneo."

"That's so far away, Was it fun living there?" Asked Marve getting curious, he wanted to dig further about Maya's life in the past, but Maya again showed a sad face as if she did not want to tell it. "Too difficult and it hurts. I don't like talking about my past, Marve. sorry..."

Marve understood, he wouldn't push it until Maya told him herself, all Marve wanted was to make Maya feel better.

It was dark when Maya and Marve reached this white sandy beach and Marve just smiled happily at Maya's face, which seemed to glow brightly in the moonlight.

"Are you happy?" Asked Marve, Maya turned and nodded with a smile, she then stepped closer to the shoreline but the shoes she wore prevented her from walking as soon as her heels were buried under thick sand and made her unable to walk.

Maya then tried to take off her shoes and squatted when she just touched the rope wrapped around her ankle Marve's warm hand suddenly touched her.

His face was handsome and shining like the moonlight had been sucked into his face, that was what Maya first felt as Marve lightly touched her feet and undid the laces of the heels she was wearing while holding her head looking at her and smiling.

"Why are you still wearing high shoes? Your leg will hurt again." Marve's soft voice and thin smile seemed to make time stop at once.

Her heart was pounding as if she had just run a marathon why is Marve so easy to make her touch like this?

"I know I'm handsome, blink honey ... you make me nervous." Teased Marve, Maya's face was flushed now. She was caught off guard.

"I looked at the sea, you are too confident," Maya replied nervously, she reasoned with stammering that Marve did not lower her dazzling and deadly smile as well.

Marve can only smile and get up while carrying Maya's shoes in his left hand and then he stretches out his hand right in front of Maya who is still awkward.

"Should I accept his helping hand?" Maya asked herself, this time more intense than all the dangerous kissing things they had been doing...

"Come on ... " Marve said again, slowly after taking a deep breath Maya accepted Marve's helping hand and got out of the car.

Their eyes met again when Marve pulled Maya's body a little while helping Maya to get down, but Maya quickly moved away and looked the other way.

Maya, don't fall in love with him until he's really in love with you. Maya inserts a small suggestion into her brain so that her heart doesn't get hurt because she fell in love with Marve first.

Marve has everything .. everything even the sun seems to be behind his head so he always looks shining even when he is not smiling like this. Marve was so dangerous, it was too hard not to fall in love with him.

The wind blowing hard again made Marve turn around and hugged Maya tightly.

"The sea breeze was not very strong, Marve. It is okay." Maya said, her heart might explode right now or her spirit might jump out of her body if Marve got this warm towards her.

"I just don't want you to be cold."

Oh my God ... did he just say that he was protecting me?

Should I jump for joy now or fall unconscious right now?

Marve then slowly moved away as the wind slowly calmed down, but when Maya wanted to release her hand from Marve's grip, instead, that man tightened his grip as if he would never let go.

Slowly, Marve then took Maya along the beach a little closer to the shore so they could feel the soft and bubbly lips of the waves hitting the instep of their feet leaving their rhythmic footprints swept away by the waves a second later.

"Is it cold?" Asked Marvel.

"Little, but fun. Thank you." Maya replied smiling.

Marve raised his head, why is the night sky so dark that not a single star can be seen showing its twinkling light.

"What are you looking for above the sky? Will it rain money tonight?" Maya asked, she was joking as she also raised her head to face the dark and black sky with gray clouds.

Marve laughed at Maya's joke "Is there only money in your mind?" Asked Marve pinched Maya's nose exasperatedly making her purse her lips.

"Not really, in my mind I have money, my family and .. "Maya replied hanging, she almost opened her card if she continued her sentence.

"And?" Marve stopped now and looked at Maya closely.

"And .. money. "Maya replied jokingly, Marve knew that money was not everything for Maya when she offered a lot of money so that she would marry him but Maya refused, she just wanted the family to be saved from distress.

"Come on Maya .. and?" Asked Marve again forcing Maya to continue her sentence.

Maya answered hesitantly as if whispering "And you." She spoke so softly that Marve couldn't hear her clearly because the sound of the waves crashing was much louder than Maya's answer made Marve even more curious.

"Come on, Maya, and what?" Merve asked a little forcing because he was very curious, but Maya tried to let go of her hand so she could run away if Marve didn't pull Maya's hand which he still held tightly so that Maya was back at his side.

"You don't want to hear what's on my mind?" Marve asked, he locked Maya's body by hugging Maya's waist tightly.

Maya could only freeze and stare at Maya's face, she seemed suddenly mute.

Marve's charm beat him again.

"I'm just thinking about how to make you fall in love with me," Marve whispered, suddenly Maya's body tightened and her heartbeat rapidly.

Realized Maya, her brain muttered but her heart had warmed almost to make it melt so that she could only close her lips.

Marve was happy, Maya was still frozen as if she had opened her heart and let it slowly creep in and dominate her.

Now the atmosphere that should have been cold was even hot when their two eyes didn't budge to look at the other until this warm atmosphere moved their hearts to get their faces closer.

The breaths they exhaled collided with each other when their faces were only as big as almonds apart.

Marve's hand had touched Maya's cheek and their lips were almost touching when Maya then turned her face so that Marve could not touch Maya's lips.

Marve looked disappointed, but he was not angry and just smiled shyly and let go of Maya's body now.

"Make yourself fall in love with me first, and I will open my heart to you."

Marve smiled. Maya was very careful. There may be only a few places in her heart that are unscathed so that she places a limit on her heart so that Marve does not easily occupy it.

"It's very dark tonight. Too bad, I want to take you where you can see the stars." Said Marve.

Now they are no longer on the shoreline and sitting on the sand, staring at the sky.

"The lights of passing planes are also beautiful like stars." Said Maya when she saw the red flickering above when the plane happened to pass by.

"But you can't see your parents' faces lit up by the airplane lights."

Maya was silent, Marve thought about it so much that he even wanted to realize what Maya said last night.

"It's okay, there is still your handsome face that I can see." Said Maya teasingly, she deliberately swung her shoulder and slammed it on Marve's burly shoulder gently.

"Okay .. okay, I know I am handsome," Marve said confidently and then they laughed together.

On the other hand, Andre stares out the window of his house hoping that Maya will pass and he can see her face once again.

The image of the Maya family he saw in the cemetery was like between the dream line and the thin real world.

"What are you daydreaming about? Is the case you are handling very heavy?" Asked Agung, the white-haired old man then sat on the sofa in his son's study while reading a thick book.

"This is not about my case but my Maya." His answer shifted his gaze.

Agung sighed, his son was still thinking about his first love which had passed him making him anxious.

"Andre this has crossed the line. Throw away all your feelings for Maya. She is no longer in this world." Said Agung, he looked angry and put his book now.

"She's still alive dad, even with Mina and Arya. I saw them today at Maya's parent's funeral." Andre explained.

Agung's heart jolted, when that incident Mina disappeared. Kania said that if Mina had returned to her hometown and stopped working the day after Maya's parents died, that's why when the fire broke out, only Maya and Arya's bodies were found.

"Maybe you're just hallucinating." Said Agung got up and was about to leave the room he did not want to just believe what his son said even though he could feel that what Andre said was no joke.

"I will prove to you that she is still alive." Said Andre confidently but Agung continued his steps out of Andre's office.

"She's Maya, she's still alive ... " Andre kept mumbling and saying it any time
