Chapter 1Two Options

"Are you blind? Or do you need a pair of spectacles to see properly?" Holding the brown locks of her hair away from her face, she yelled at the man who seemed to be rooted to the polished floor.

"Ugh!" She let out an annoyed groan as she threw another glare at the young man who was standing at a foot's distance from her. "Who's going to pay for this? Do you have any idea how much it cost me?" She yelled at the poor fellow once again, not giving him any chance to speak in his defense.

"I-I am s-sorry." He stammered through his words as he apologized to her. He knew he was the one at fault, but at the same time, it was nothing more than an accident. He didn't mean her or her belongings any harm.

"Sorry! Is that all you can say?" She humphed as she narrowed her eyes at his tall figure.

"I-I…" Not knowing what else to say, the young man stammered once again. What else he could do other than apologizing to her.

The woman, who was around the same age as him, trailed her eyes back to the floor, her keen blue eyes focusing on her feet.

"You can only stutter now after committing such a heinous crime." She pursed her lips together as her deep set eyes stared straight at the injured body. "I highly doubt that it will make it through." She let out a low murmur.

"How do you think you are going to repent?" Looking up from the floor, she questioned him. Her narrowed eyes were glaring daggers at his trembling figure.

It wasn't because he was scared of the lady who was standing before her, rather he was scared of losing his job. It was only his first week at the job, he had no plans of giving up on it as it paid him enough to go through a couple of week's expenses if not months.

After being kicked out of his last job, he had a hard time before landing on this one. If it wasn't for his father, he doubted that he could have eaten a day's meal on his own.

"I will do as you say, Ma'am. Please, don't report this to the manager." He requested, more like begged her not to go through the usual process. If his manager was to find out about what had unfolded here, he surely would have to wash his hands off the job.

"Ma'am? DID YOU JUST CALL ME MA'AM?" The lady yelled on top of her lungs, garnering attention from the passersby and the people who were already waiting in the hotel's lobby.

"Are you insisting that I look old? How humiliating!" She continued with her rambling, not taking anything else into account. She couldn't care less about how her outburst would end up affecting the poor concierge's job, if not, his newly established reputation among the hotel staff.

"N-no." Not knowing what else to do, the boy just shook his head frantically. He had only used the title of 'Ma'am' for her to show some respect. After all, she looked like an heiress of an empire, if not, she definitely belonged to one of the elite families of London. It was too obvious from the bling of her jewellery, and the dazzle of her clothes.

"No? Why else would you refer to me with that awful honorific?" She refused to accept his reasons. She couldn't even bother to listen to them. For her, he was nothing but a measly pest, one she could always get rid of.

"I apologize for it, Young Miss." The young man wasn't someone foolish. He decided to use another way to appease the lady who was standing before him, seething with anger.

"I am still not going to buy your apology. Do you think that I can be easily fooled? Accepting the fact that I am young and beautiful won't earn you my forgiveness." She raised her chin up in the air as she muttered out haughtily.

"Do you even know who I am?" she continued, not letting the man speak up for himself.

"I-"

He had only spoken a single word after contemplating over her question for a couple of seconds, when he was interrupted by her.

"Let me answer that for you." She tilted her chin slightly to her left, making sure that it was still raised up in the air. "I am Priscilla, Priscilla Sundseth, daughter of Chante Sundseth."

She barely took a small pause before she continued, "People like you, are nothing but merely ants for me. I can crush you anytime I want. It will be the same for me as flicking off a bug, but before I do that, there is one thing you need to do." Her words were clearly meant to threaten him, and they seemed to have done their job perfectly as he had started to tremble in his place even when he tried not to be affected by them.

"What? Did the cat get your tongue?" She narrowed her eyes at his figure as she eyed him up and down.

"N-no, Miss Sundseth." He gulped down a mouthful of saliva before replying back to her. For some reason, he was having a hunch that whatever she was about to ask him, he was not going to like it.

"Since I am so generous, I will give you two choices. One, you pay for injuring the poor soul. To me, it looks like it won't heal anyway, but I can try getting a replacement for my baby boo." She waved her index finger in the air as she spoke.

"Two, you will have to kiss it… say like ten times. No actually make it twenty kisses. You can't escape paying for the psychological trauma you have caused me by hurting my precious darling." She trailed her eyes to the floor as she added another finger.

The young man could only follow her line of sight as his mind pondered over the two options given to him.

'Let me make things harder for you, you measly worker.' Priscilla thought to herself as the corners of her lips slowly curled up in a devious smile.

"You have five seconds to make the decision, or I will make sure that you end up on the pavement right outside the hotel's main entrance." Priscilla added, tilting her head to the side.

"W-what?" The man was left baffled with his mouth agape.

"Five..."

"Four..."

"Three..."

"Choose wisely, or you may be left with nothing." She reminded him once again as she waved three fingers before his face.

"Two…"

Seeing her two slender fingers dancing under the pale lighting of the lobby like a ballerina, the man found himself running out of breath, and time. He couldn't help but speak up.

"Hold on! I choose...."

If you’re unwilling, I’ll find someone else who can get the marriage certificates today.” His expression darkened as he pulled her close. “Once offered to me, it’s mine alone.” Unfazed, Arwen asked, “So, do you accept? If yes, we’ll get the certificates now.” “On one condition,” he said. “I don’t do contract marriages. The woman I marry will be the woman I share my bed with. If you agree, then we’ll—” “Not a problem. Let’s go,” Arwen said without letting him finish, pulling him into the Civil Marriage Bureau.

Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Kang Li woke up in the body of the sickly beauty, the youngest daughter of the Kang family in Aoli Village, who had been spoiled and pampered all her life. The original host had a tough life, first being dumped, then marrying a divorced man in a fit of anger to become a stepmother, only to find herself unfortunately becoming the control set for another stepmother in the courtyard. She could certainly be considered a top contender for cannon fodder among supporting female characters. But to Kang Li, none of this was a problem. All she knew was that the so-called divorced man was a returned overseas research talent, busy with work, with a high salary and good looks, and was hardly ever at home. In these times, where food and clothing were scarce and communication was done by shouting, marrying him was nothing but good news to her, who just wanted to live the life of a salted fish. Kang's Mother: ...my daughter's gone silly! Brothers (sisters-in-law, nephews, and nieces): ...our sister (young auntie) has gone mad! However, apart from the head of the household, Captain Kang, the rest of the family were all sweating on Kang Li's behalf, worried that the delicate and frail treasure of the house (sister, young aunt) wouldn't be able to handle the grievances of being a stepmother and might hurt herself from the stress. The villagers who knew about the Kang family's situation gathered together, spewing sour words and gossiping, especially those who bore no good will and were just waiting to see the Kang family's downfall. Yet, Kang Li's life after marriage was not only blissful, but her husband doted on her, her stepchildren adored her, calling her mom the moment they opened their mouths. They clung to her like people possessed, and the wife (stepmother) had them following her every step. A certain flabbergasted system: I thought the host I was bound to was bronze-tier, but it turns out she's actually king-tier. - Luo Yanqing was naturally indifferent, with only work on his mind, but somehow, he started to find himself looking forward to holidays, although he rarely managed to go home once a whole year.
