THE 7TEEN: LET THE PAIN EXIST

Meet Dhruv, a 17-year-old boy shrouded in mystery. His life took a turn for the worse six months ago when his father passed away in a car accident, leaving him to contend with his neglectful mother and school bullies. However, everything changes on January 17th, 2017, when the police arrive at his doorstep to inquire about the murders of three of his classmates. Suddenly, Dhruv finds himself at the center of a murder mystery. As the truth begins to emerge, it becomes clear that things are not as they seem, and the line between right and wrong is blurred. Brace yourself for a thrilling ride where anything can happen, as the truth ISN'T WHITE ANYMORE. And Pain, Let It Exist! My novel stands out from many others in that it has a distinct conclusion and employs a unique storytelling style. Rather than following the conventional novel format, it is structured like a script. This decision was made to maintain a quick pace throughout the thrilling story without making it overly lengthy.

SHE HAS A MOTIVE?

Dhruv had finally found who the mysterious eyewitness was, and he had already started deciphering her. He knew something important for Shiv to solve the case. But Shiv couldn't help but see the hatred Dhruv had for his son. Dhruv decided to give Vikram a fate worst than death, and that was enough to show the grudge Dhruv held against Vikram. Shiv could also see the joy on Dhruv's face when he was telling him about Vikram. Dhruv was so enthralled by the joy, that he for an instance completely forgot that it was Pooja whom he was supposed to talk about and not Vikram. But sooner than later, he got back to his senses and continued to talk about her.

Dhruv: Sorry we were talking about Pooja!

Rathod: Yeah, we were.

Dhruv: Where was I?

Rathod: You were talking about Vikram bringing you some tea to drink.

Dhruv: Right, tea!... So while he was making tea. And as I said, I took his phone earlier. So now, I checked it! He was blackmailing Pooja to get back into a relationship with him with those nudes he had!

Rathod: You think that's why she is the killer?

Dhruv: I have two reasons to suspect that! First, she told you that she saw me near your place; I have been there only once. And that's on the 13th of January. And as I said, she had called Vikram that day in my presence. The call came from a telephone number saved as 'Pooja home', so she probably called from her home.

Rathod: And what's the second reason?

Dhruv: And second, Vikram asked her to be at his place on the 16th. It was the deadline! He wrote something like, "Either you give me the answer I want on 16th, or I am ruining your life" he also mentioned something about how you won't be at home and that she should meet him there,…... you could check his phone if you want. It can prove that I am not lying.

Rathod: I'll look into it! And by whatever you said, it's clear that she does have a reason to kill. If talking by your logic, SHE HAS A MOTIVE!

Dhruv: A little time with me, and you start murmuring my words. So, are you going to thank me for whatever I did now, or are you going to pretend that I never helped you?

Rathod: No, I am not going to thank you for anything. It was your idea to start with, remember?

Dhruv: Fair enough!

While Shiv and Dhruv had their little conversation, someone started banging the door of the interrogation room. Shiv was now really annoyed by this point; people were continuously disturbing him during his interrogation. And it was making him furious. As he opened the door this time, he just burst!

Rathod: WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE! I am conducting an interrogation or what? Why can't you guys do all you have to do? That is LEAVE ME FUCKING ALONE!!! I am trying to do my job here!

Bhosle: Saheb, Saheb, Saheb! Just hear me out! It's something important!

Rathod: Bhosle! Everything about this case is important! The difference is how important it is!

Bhosle: Saheb, it's not about this case.

Rathod: BHOSLE, ARE YOU MAD??!! If it's not about this case, it's not important! Why can't you all get a simple thing, that I don't want any disturbance while I am...

Bhosle (Cutting Shiv's sentence): Saheb, it's about your son's case! The fingerprint reports are here.

Rathod: What?!... So, you are saying that you have received the fingerprint reports?

Bhosle: Yes, Saheb! I pressured the guys at the lab to work a little faster as the time was less. They did take a little time but not as usual.

Rathod: Oh my god, you brought some actual important things, and I am here screaming at you. I am sorry, Bhosle! I got carried away.

Bhosle: It's alright, Saheb! I know the pressure you are having right now.

Rathod: Thanks for understanding! So?!... Do we have anything?

Bhosle: The prints we sent to the lab have matched with the one on the murder weapon.

Rathod: So the prints matched to...?

Bhosle: THE GIRL!

Dhruv (Shouting from his seat): I TOLD YOU, IT WASN'T ME!

Rathod: Shut up, Dhruv!.. So Bhosle, you are telling me..?

Bhosle: Yes, Sir! It's the girl!

Dhruv (Shouting again): I TOLD THAT TOO!

Rathod: SHUT THE FUCK UP DHRUV!... So I guess we have what we need!... Bhosle, don't let the news of this get to her! Bring all the CCTV footage from my building, especially the ones that are installed on my floor. It must have the footage of her entering and leaving my house if she did it. And ask Subhash to call all my neighbors. We have to start conducting interviews and interrogate them all! If I do this alone, it will take time. So I'll ask Vijay, and he can conduct few interviews in his cabin. And ask someone to look up Vikram's call record and look at everything on his phone. We'll find something about Pooja from it. And call the doctor, tell him that Vikram's body was sent to him at morning 8. It's more than 7 hours now. I want the autopsy ASAP! I guess that's all for now; get everyone to work, if something comes up, I'll say you!

Bhosle: Yeah…sure! I mean...that's a lot of wor… (In a low voice) fuck this shit! I'll get everything done!

Bhosle goes away.

Dhruv: Seems like someone is up to some work finally! By the way, I think that's a lot of work you just gave him.

Rathod: I know, that's why I am leaving now. I have a case to solve!

Dhruv: Yeah, do some actual work other than sitting and talking to a seventeen-year-old about his school bullies.

Rathod: I'll never understand you no matter what. I better leave, I don't have a lot of time.

Dhruv: Don't you think you forgot something?

Rathod: Forgot what?

Dhruv: The reason you stayed here and listened to my third story Officer, THE CLUE! Just because you have some big leads regarding your son's case doesn't mean my case becomes any less important.

Rathod: I forgot! So tell me, what's the clue?

Dhruv: The seventeen!

Rathod: The what?

Dhruv: Your clue is "THE SEVENTEEN"!

Rathod: What's that supposed to mean?

Dhruv: That's your work to find out!
