Chapter 25 (The Ball)

2 days before the ball:

Everyone in the castle was running around to prepare for the final touches. Ciaran was helping by making sure everything was in the right places. Lux was checking for anything missing. Delia was helping by carrying boxes of decorations. By sun down, everything was done. Everyone laid on the floo, resting while laughing. The job was done and everything was going to be great.

1 day before the ball:

Ciaran took Lux out to the market. It was only morning and almost all of the clothing shops had been sold out of dresses and suits for the ball. Ciaran and Lux were at the market again, they were excited for tomorrow. Lux and Ciaran could finally be open about their relationship to the people.

They had met the old lady again, and this time Lux sat down to have a chat with the elderly woman.

"" the elderly woman said with a smile. "<Looks like I know who is chosen to be the next queen of Pemmayg. What are you boys here for?" She asked enthusiastically.< p>

"" Ciaran said as he looked at Lux.

The elderly woman quickly started working on their bracelets. When she was finished she handed it to them, "" She smiled brightly.

Ciaran and Lux wore the bracelets she made, they both loved it. Lux gave the old woman golden coins, and thanked the woman before leaving. It was amazing that she knew everything even though they had never said a single word about it.

The next day came faster than it ever did.

The ball had just started yet the place was already full of humans and creatures. The ballroom ceilings were high where the hippogriff, pegasus, phoenix and other creatures could fly freely and had huge chandeliers, the walls were filled with beautiful drawings of different stories from the past and they had long and tall windows on the side of the wall. The sun was setting, the clouds turned gold and the sky was filled with warm colours.

Everyone wore their best to be chosen by the prince. Lux felt lucky that he met the royals by accident and now he is going to marry one, he wore a white colour long sleeve shirt with a collar, while wearing a blue vest with golden patterns on it which almost matched his eyes that night.

When the sun had set and the moon had finally risen, the royal doors were opened to reveal King Truman and Queen Cora along with their children, Prince Ciaran and Princess Delia. Behind them were kings and queens from the kingdoms of Rumtuina, Qebacna, Youthina and many more others.

Everyone bowed, now the event only really started. The King and Queen were chatting with the other kings and queens, while Prince Ciaran was getting surrounded by everyone, royals and non-royals.

"How come your brother has so many fans and not you?" Lux asked, when he saw Delia walking around by herself.

"He is the next king, and he is friendly, cool, charming and other things that made you also find him interesting." Delia chuckled as Lux laughed along.

"You're not wrong," Lux replied. "But, even if he is the next king doesn't mean there isn't anyone that doesn't like you." Lux smiled to motivate her.

"But who would like a girl like me? A girl who literally went to a small war and likes to ride horses and likes to shoot arrows at mannequins." Delia replied, upset.

Lux was comforting her, when a boy walked up to them. He looked like he was from a rich family.

"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting something, but I have a gift for Princess Delia," he handed the small gift to Delia. "I hope you like the gift that I made." He quickly walked away after saying that. Lux looked at Delia.

"Alright, you got me." Delia answered. They both laughed at the situation.

"Open the box, let's see what he gave you." Lux said.

Delia opened the box, it had a note with a small wooden carved statue of her riding a horse. She opened the note, which read:

"I hope you like the gift that i carved, it is not the best but i gave all my heart into it. I am not a wood carver but I'm a writer. I have written novels that have not yet been published but will be out soon enough. But the carving I had made you, I hope you will keep it well. If you read this, I am grateful for you using your time on me.

-Kirin Hill"

"Ain't he nice, what were you saying again about 'no one likes-" Lux's mouth was covered by Delia. She was redder than a tomato which made Lux very surprised.

The moon was high and shining brightly, which was the time King Truman made an announcement. The royals all walked up to their thrones as the king started to speak.

"Tonight has been a wonderful night for all of us! But today is Ciaran's 21st birthday, which means today is his coming of age ceremony and the day that he will choose the person he will seal the bond with!Everyone please step forward to let the Prince choose you to be his partner and Queen of Pemmayg!" The king said out loud to everyone.

The people congratulated Ciaran, and a long line started to form, waiting to be chosen by the Prince. Prince Ciaran walked and looked at each and every one of them. Even though he had already chosen his future queen, he wanted the others to have a feeling of having a chance.

When Prince Ciaran had pulled Lux from the line, everyone cheered for him. Prince Ciaran and Lux were holding onto each other's arms and looking into each other's eyes before waving at the people.

After that, everyone had a dance. Ciaran and Lux danced with each other in the centre of the ballroom while Delia was dancing with the guy she had just met. Everybody had a chance to join in the fun no matter the age.

It was a great night everyone, all went home after midnight and the next few days continued as normal.

It has been 2 years since that day. Lux is 25, Ciaran is 23 and Delia is 15. They haven't gotten married yet, as Ciaran hasn't found the perfect time, but maybe he might find the perfect time in the future. For now, it is time to take a rest and wait for them to find the perfect time.

See you soon...

To be continued?...(Maybe)

Shoud the story continue until their wedding or just end like this?
