Chapter 1The White Dove and Its Companions

The sun was beginning to set behind the mountains, casting a warm orange glow over the rolling green hills of the kingdom of Aradon. In the distance, a lone rider could be seen, riding towards the castle that stood proud and tall in the center of the city.

The rider was a knight, dressed in white armor and riding a magnificent white stallion. Sir Marcus Van Hellsing, he was known throughout the kingdom as the White Knight, a legendary figure who had been called upon to defend the kingdom from all manner of threats. Though a legendary figure in this unimpressively small kingdom that had only lasted through a few decades does not really deserve the word legendary, he genuinely has a high prestige in the seven cities of the kingdom.

As the White Knight approached the castle, he could see that the gates were open and the drawbridge was down. This was unusual, as the castle was usually heavily guarded, even during times of peace.

Drawing his sword, the White Knight urged his horse forward, ready for any danger that may lay ahead. As he entered the courtyard, he saw that the guards were lying on the ground, unconscious.

Something was definitely wrong.

The White Knight dismounted from his horse and cautiously made his way through the castle, sword at the ready. As he turned a corner, he came face to face with a group of armed men, all dressed in black and wielding swords of their own.

Without hesitation, the White Knight charged forward, engaging the men in battle. His sword flashed in the air, deflecting blows and striking true. The men fought fiercely, but the White Knight was a seasoned warrior and three-star one at that, and he quickly gained the upper hand.

With a final strike, the White Knight defeated the last of the attackers. Breathing heavily, he looked around and saw that the castle had been ransacked. It was clear that whoever these men were, they had come for something of great value.

The White Knight set about restoring order to the castle, helping the guards to their feet and organizing a search for the missing treasure. As the night drew on, he could not help but wonder who had orchestrated this attack and what their ultimate goal was.

Little did he know, this was just the beginning of a long and perilous journey that would test his courage, his strength, and his loyalty to the kingdom he had sworn to protect. The White Knight would have to face many challenges and make difficult choices in the days to come, but he was determined to see Aradon through this time of crisis and emerge victorious in the end.

The following day, the White Knight assembled a group of trusted allies to aid him in his search for the vile murderers. Among them were Elmir Nasr, a two-star assassin from a desert peninsula who had fought alongside the White Knight in many battles, and Lady Amara, a peak two-star archer who was known throughout the kingdom for her sharp aim and explosive shots.

Together, they scoured the castle and the surrounding lands, looking for any clue that might lead them to the thieves. They questioned the guards and the servants, and even ventured into the nearby town to see if anyone had seen anything suspicious.

But their efforts proved fruitless. The thieves had vanished without a trace, leaving behind no clues or evidence of their whereabouts.

Frustrated and worried, the White Knight turned to his trusted advisor, a wise old wizard named Merlin. Merlin had been the White Knight's mentor and friend for many years, and he had a reputation for being one of the wisest and most powerful wizards in the land.

Merlin listened carefully as the White Knight recounted the events of the previous night, and then he closed his eyes and began to mutter incantations under his breath. After a few moments, he opened his eyes and spoke.

"I sense dark magic at work here," he said gravely. "The thieves were not mere common criminals, but agents of a much greater evil."

The White Knight and his companions exchanged worried glances. They knew that the kingdom was no stranger to dark forces, but they had hoped that they could overcome this challenge without having to face them again.

"What can we do?" asked Lady Amara.

Merlin thought for a moment. "There is a sacred grove deep in the forest, where the spirits of nature dwell," he said. "If we can make an offering to the spirits, they may be able to guide us to the thieves and the stolen treasure."

The White Knight nodded. He trusted Merlin's wisdom and knew that they had to act quickly if they were to have any hope of retrieving the treasure and uncovering the truth behind this sinister plot.

Gathering their supplies, the group set out into the forest, determined to seek the guidance of the spirits and uncover the dark magic that threatened the kingdom of Aradon.

This is a work of fiction, any names, characters, stories or events, are fictitious! (Even the country in the story is just the author's fantasy as the author never visited those countries in the story) Armipotent is an archaic adjective meaning "strong in battle." Basically, it refers to someone who is physically tough in war. Originally, it was used to refer to the Roman god of war, Mars. ===================== Tang Shaoyang, an orphan who dropped out of the middle school to fight on the street as he found out school was useless for a penniless orphan like him. GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
