** The return**

When Kris regained his senses from his half-awake state, the first thing he heard was Zheng and Jie's voices cutting across the platform.

"You're an idiot, Kris! Taking on Kayako without backup?" Zheng yelled, frustration thick in his voice.

Kris ignored them, his attention shifting to the survivors around him. Surprisingly, Ming Yanwei was among them—a face he hadn't expected to see. According to the original novel, she was supposed to die alongside the three college kids.

As he scanned the group, Biscuit and Tengyi approached. Tengyi wore a broad grin, likely impressed by the points he had earned and the novelty of God's Dimension. Yinkong and Yanwei stood nearby, both captivated by their surroundings.

Before Kris could speak, Zheng stormed over and grabbed him by the collar. "What the hell was that, Kris? First, you and Xuan take off, and then you're out there fighting Kayako on your own?"

"Was it for the points?" Jie chimed in, adding fuel to Zheng's anger.

Kris swatted Zheng's hands away with a smooth, deliberate motion, a testament to the strength he'd gained from his training. Zheng hesitated, startled by the ease with which Kris brushed him off.

"Get your head on straight, Zheng," Kris snapped. "I didn't do it just for the points—well, not entirely. Xuan was in trouble, so I went to help. We had a plan—one we were about to execute when Kayako went after him. Biscuit, Tengyi, Bishop, and I had to split up to make it work—and it did."

Kris glanced around, suddenly realizing someone was missing. "Where's Bishop?"

"Right here," Tengyi replied, pointing to Bishop, who stood silently beside him.

Kris exhaled a sigh of relief. He had expected Bishop to disappear after Xuan's death. He clearly remembered a conversation about all player property vanishing when they died. Kris wasn't quite a hundred percent after the ordeal; his mind still felt clouded by some kind of haze. This only added to the confusion about how God's Dimension really worked.

His thoughts were interrupted by Zheng's voice again.

"That may be, Kris, but do you have to shut us out? Ever since the beginning, you've been distant with the team. We could have helped you. So why? Do you think we're just burdens that you or Xuan have to carry? We're allies, Kris. Does that not matter to you?"

Zheng's frustration spilled out all at once, which was odd to Kris—it was as if his emotional barriers had suddenly cracked open.

Kris glanced at Jie, who was nodding in agreement with Zheng's words.

"Wow, are you PMS-ing or something, Zheng?" Kris shot back, his patience wearing thin. "We're not here for a company retreat or some team-building exercise. We're here to survive. Don't take it out on someone who's actually trying to do something while you're stuck here whining. I'm not about to tie myself to your lot, even if it's not the 'right' course of action. Or do you want to take the reins now, Zheng? Sick of being a passenger in this ride? Prove yourself. Act competent. Stop jerking off with Jie."

Before Zheng could respond, Kris turned and walked off toward his room. Biscuit, Tengyi, and surprisingly, Ming Yanwei followed him in.

---

**elephant in the room**

Kris plopped down onto the loveseat in his room, leaning back with his eyes closed as he took deep breaths to steady himself.

By the time he calmed down, everyone from his little clique had made themselves comfortable in his living room. He noticed someone new but decided to leave it for now.

"That wasn't like you, Kris. I've known you the longest, and that's not how you usually act," Biscuit said, eyeing him with a knowing look.

Kris glanced at Tengyi and Bishop, who both wore expressions of agreement with Biscuit's words.

"I don't know," Kris said, his voice uncertain. "I've thought about those things I said, but I'm not the type to yell them at someone's face."

Bishop chimed in, his tone matter-of-fact. "Indeed. Your heart rate and pupil dilation suggest you were in an unnatural agitated state for exactly six seconds during that exchange with Zheng."

"F**k!" Kris suddenly remembered his outburst, glancing at Jie.

"Shit, shit, shit! Biscuit, the guy's making his move. I was influenced for a bit there. Bishop's reading confirms it. Damn it!" Kris muttered, a string of curses slipping from his lips.

"If that's true, we need to move up our timetable," Biscuit said, his voice grim.

"Yeah, I'm really going to hate this, but we have to go to that movie, Biscuit," Kris replied with a grimace.

"Wait, wait, wait! Before you go down that road, can I just say something?" Tengyi interrupted, drawing an annoyed glance from both Kris and Biscuit. "I mean, are we just gonna ignore the new person in the room? We don't know her. She could have ulterior motives. Can we trust her?"

"Well, why don't we ask her then?" Kris said, his usual self slowly returning.

"Could you introduce yourself and tell us why you're here? Also, why do you think it's okay to just invite yourself into our little clique?" Kris asked, a devious grin forming on his face.

Ming Yanwei looked around the room and put on a little show, pouting her lips and acting like an airhead who had just been swept up in the crowd.

But Kris knew it was an act. He knew exactly who she was.

"First of all, my name is Yanwei. And second, I followed you guys because I believe I have a better chance of survival if I stick with you—especially you," she said, pointing her pedicured finger at Kris. "You look strong, and you could even put that boy scout Zheng in line."

Kris chuckled, but he couldn't let Yanwei's little performance continue. "I never would have thought the notorious archer who killed an entire biker gang by herself would act like this…"

Yanwei stiffened, her body tensing as if she was ready to bolt at any second. Tengyi, standing near her, gave her a shocked look, his mouth hanging open in disbelief.

"Relax," Kris said with a grin. "I don't have anything against what you did. In fact, I was impressed when I heard about it. You see, those guys you killed had a bad reputation in our circles."

"Oh yeah, I knew of them," Kris continued, his tone casual. "I was into underground racing in the real world, and that's where I met those guys. They were your typical bully-the-weak, fear-the-strong type. So yeah, when they died, word got around."

"Did you know from the start?" Yanwei asked, her voice tight with frustration as she gritted her teeth.

"I had my suspicions, but you just confirmed it right now," (This was a lie of course I just said that to cover my canon knowledge) Kris smirked, enjoying the moment.

"By the way," Kris added, his tone turning more serious, "if you close your eyes and connect to God right now, you can heal anything—even old wounds. Actually, you both should do it. It's better to be in your best health if you want to stick around with us. And this goes without saying, but everything we talk about in this room stays within these four walls, understood?"

Both Yanwei and Tengyi nodded, closing their eyes and following Kris's advice.

---

**Healing and a Plan**

Kris watched as both Tengyi and Ming Yanwei closed their eyes, focusing on the connection Kris had mentioned. The room fell silent except for the soft rustle of breath and the hum of the space around them.

A faint glow began to emanate from both of them, a soft light that pulsed gently, as if responding to their concentration. Kris leaned back, crossing his arms, waiting.

After a few moments, Tengyi opened his eyes first, a look of surprise crossing his face. He raised his hand and flexed his fingers, as if testing something.

"Whoa... I can feel it," Tengyi said, his voice tinged with disbelief. "It's like… all the old aches, the scars, they're gone. I didn't even realize how much they were weighing me down until now."

Kris nodded, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "God's Dimension is powerful. You should have no more lingering injuries, at least for now."

Tengyi stretched his arms, moving freely for the first time in what seemed like years. He looked over at Yanwei, whose eyes were still closed.

Yanwei's expression was unreadable, but Kris could see the tension in her shoulders, the way she was forcing herself to remain still as the healing light swirled around her.

After a few more moments, she opened her eyes. Her usual confident, calculating gaze had softened, and for a brief second, Kris saw something he hadn't noticed before—relief.

"I... I didn't know it could be like this," Yanwei murmured, testing her own body, bending and stretching, as if she was reacquainting herself with it. "I've had these injuries for so long, I forgot what it felt like to be whole."

"Yeah," Tengyi agreed, shaking his head in awe. "I've had my share of scars, too. It's like they never existed."

Kris gave them both a small, understanding smile. "Now you're at your best. Just make sure you don't let your guard down. This world... It doesn't let you forget that you can get hurt. But for now, take the advantage while you have it."

Yanwei turned toward Kris, a faint smirk appearing on her lips. "I've got to admit, I didn't expect to be healed by some unknown force. But I'm not complaining." She flexed her fingers, still in awe of the sensation.

"Glad you're feeling better," Kris said, his tone casual but with an edge of sincerity.

---

"Now that both of you are healed, let's talk about what you plan to do from here on out," Kris said, his tone calm but direct, his gaze shifting between Tengyi and Yanwei.

"Of course, Boss. I'll follow you!" Tengyi responded without hesitation, the words practically tumbling out of his mouth. "I made up my mind back in The Grudge." He gave Kris a firm nod, his commitment clear.

Kris turned his attention toward Yanwei, who had been unusually quiet. She met his gaze and, after a moment, gave a small, noncommittal nod.

"I'll follow you… for now," she said, her words carefully measured, lacking the same certainty that Tengyi had shown.

Kris raised an eyebrow at her, considering her words carefully. "Yanwei," he said, his voice softer but still firm, "I can't imagine what you've been through, but let me make one thing clear. You are free to do whatever you want. Just be upfront with me if your actions are going to affect me, or anyone on the team. You're even free to leave right now, but if you do, just promise me one thing—don't spread anything you learn from here, okay?"

He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in before continuing, his gaze steady. "I know it'll take some time for you to fully trust me—or anyone here. All I'm asking is that you give me the courtesy of telling me if you plan to screw me over. Agreed?"

Yanwei looked at him for a long moment, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, she gave him a stern nod, a sign that despite her uncertainty, she understood and accepted his terms.

"Agreed."

---

"Alright, let's get to the meat of things," Kris began, leaning forward slightly, his tone shifting to something more serious. "Ah, but before that, Bishop, could you be so kind as to prepare a meal for everyone?"

"Sure, Kris. I'd be glad to do so," Bishop replied with a nod, already moving toward the kitchen area.

"Thanks, Bishop," Kris said with a nod, then turned back to the others. "Now, let me give you the breakdown." He paused, letting the weight of the moment settle. "You've probably guessed by now that I don't like Jie. Well, that's because he's a fraud."

Tengyi and Yanwei exchanged confused glances, but Kris continued before they could ask.

"He's pretending to be a regular player, but in reality, he's a guide—someone who should be helping us adapt to God's Domain. He's supposed to be the one telling us what the next movie is, giving us the best upgrade options. But no, instead, he's trying to maintain the status quo. Why? Because if he doesn't, he'll outlive his usefulness and get erased by God."

The two of them were wide-eyed, about to ask questions, but Kris cut them off with a sharp wave of his hand.

"I know, I know," Kris said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Why are we doing nothing? Why don't we just kill him? What's with you not telling the others, Kris?" He mimicked their likely questions with a smirk.

"The answers are simple," Kris replied with a resigned sigh. "I can't prove it. Even if I did, there's not much I can do about it yet. Honestly, I don't even think I can beat him—not with his abilities. The guy can hypnotize you or something, and he's a veteran of five movies. Plus, he has knowledge of the best upgrades in the system. So yeah, he's pretty untouchable for now."

Kris leaned back in his seat, the frustration clear in his expression. "And here's the kicker—he's already started to think I'm a threat to his little operation. That's why we had that little episode on the platform earlier."

Yanwei, who had been listening intently, nodded in understanding. "So, what's the plan then?"

"Biscuit and I have been saving up to buy something that'll protect our minds," Kris explained. "That's why we can't make a move on Jie yet. We have not been to the other two movies Jie's been in, so we're not exactly in a position to take him out. Let me explain a little more about this option."

Kris glanced between Tengyi and Yanwei, making sure they were both paying attention.

"There's an option in the system where you can revisit a movie that a veteran has already completed. The thing is, the most movies completed right now is Jie. So, if he dies and we haven't gone to those movies yet, they'll disappear from the list. It's a big deal because those movies contain points, valuable knowledge, and items that we'll need, if we want to get stronger."

Kris paused for a moment, his gaze turning serious again. "But there's more. You can also use this option to temporarily return to the real world. But I wouldn't recommend doing that right now. Your points are precious, and you'll need them to survive the next movie. Trust me, those points are going to be more useful to you in the long run than any trip back home right now."

The room was silent for a moment as the gravity of Kris's words settled in.

"So, for now, you should wait. We build our strength, find a way to protect our minds, and keep a close eye on Jie. We need to be prepared for whatever's coming next." Kris finished, his tone hardening with resolve.

---

When the heavy topic had been settled, Bishop had set the table, and they all moved to the long dining table.

Everyone sat down and started digging into the meal without a word.

By the time everyone had their fill, Kris leaned back, ready to continue.

"Alright, now here's the plan. There are still two movies left in Jie's past records," Kris began, his tone now focused. "Biscuit and I will take one, and the rest of you—Yanwei and Tengyi—will take the other." He paused for emphasis. "The two movies are Nightmare on Elm Street 1 and Scream 2."

He saw a confused glance exchanged between Tengyi and Yanwei. "Don't worry," Kris quickly added, "Scream 2 will be reset to its first part, Scream 1, since you haven't completed it yet. Plus, it's an easy one. You just have to kill Billy and Stu early on, and keep an eye out for any hidden bonuses. They're just ordinary people, so as long as you avoid the cops, it should be a walk in the park."

Kris gave them a moment to absorb the information before continuing. "If you're in agreement with this plan, I'll provide you with the D-rank reward you'll need to unlock the movie and help with your enhancements."

Both Tengyi and Yanwei nodded, though they were still a bit hesitant to dive back into a movie so soon.

"Alright, both of you should rest for now," Kris said, his tone more relaxed. "Just pick a door, hold the handle, and think about the room you want. God will take care of the rest." He glanced at them both, making sure they were listening. "Let's meet back here tomorrow around 9 AM. That should give us enough time to regroup."

He paused, then added with a more serious note, "Don't linger on the platform. Stay in your room. It's safe there. No one can get in unless you let them."

Kris gave them both a moment to let the information sink in before leaving the room.

---

**The Next Morning**

The sun had barely risen, and Kris was already awake, his mind racing with the tasks ahead. He was sitting at the table in his room, scanning over some notes he had made the night before, when a soft knock came at the door.

Kris looked up, his eyes narrowing as he set the papers aside. The knock came again, this time a little more urgent. With a sigh, he stood up and crossed the room, opening the door.

Tengyi and Yanwei stood there, looking a little more composed than they had the night before, but there was still a lingering hesitation in their eyes.

"Morning," Kris greeted, leaning against the doorframe. "You two ready for the next-"

Tengyi gave a quick nod. "Yeah, we're ready. I didn't linger in the platform like you said. Stayed in my room. But there seems to be a little commotion going on, look."

Tengyi moved aside so Kris could see the platform and the huge golden table now erect below the ball of light.

"Shit! Biscuit! There's something going on outside let's check it out." Kris hurriedly came infront of the gaudy golden tablet reading the words imprinted on it.

---

**The Announcement**

"...When a team has, or once had, three humans who have unlocked their genetic constraints, this message will appear and remain within this dimension."

"...We have predicted that once the genetic constraint reaches its fifth and final stage, the organism will evolve into a higher-tier being. The human world will either advance rapidly or descend into chaos at the emergence of such a being. To prevent multiple high-tier organisms from clashing and causing the extinction of humanity, we have established the following rules..."

"...When a team has three—or once had—three humans who have unlocked their genetic constraints, they will encounter other teams from different continents within God's Domain. Killing a member from another team will grant you 2,000 points and a Rank C reward. Killing a member who has unlocked their genetic constraint will grant you 7,000 points and a Rank B reward. Eliminating an entire team will reward every member with a Rank C reward."

"...There is no cruelty, justice, or evil in this world—only one team can survive until the end. If you wish to live, you must surpass your limits and evolve..."

--

By the time Biscuit and Bishop caught up to Kris, his mind was already racing. Damn, I thought we only had to delay Zheng and Xuan from unlocking their genetic constraints, but who would've known someone we hadn't accounted for had unlocked theirs too? Kris cursed under his breath. Man, we're in deep shit... wait. I think we can work with this. Gotta get the others in gear. Screw Jie and his group for now.

Biscuit, sensing the urgency in Kris's demeanor, grabbed Bishop and followed as Kris jogged back toward his room.

---

The tension in the air was palpable, as both Tengyi and Yanwei stood waiting for the next set of orders. Kris rubbed his chin, his thoughts focused. "Alright, here's what we're going to do. We're going to get the upgrades we need, and then it's go time. You both know the plan, right?"

They nodded again, and Kris motioned for them to enter.

"Good," Kris said, stepping aside to let them in. "Let's get this done."
