Danera was lost in thought when the elevator took her to the company's top floor, where the CEO's office was located.

The elevator opened, and Danera stepped out. Right at that moment, she saw Zayn and Emily talking to her. She was about to call out when she heard their conversation.

"...then when are you going to divorce Doriane?"

Emily's voice echoed in the deserted hallway that reached Danera's ears.

Danera was momentarily speechless when she heard those words and then hurriedly hid in the elevator. She stopped the elevator from closing and strained her ears to hear the rest of Emily and Zayn's conversation.

"She's Danera's Mom." Zayn corrected his mother's words.

"Mom doesn't care, she's still the same as Doriane." Emily snorted indifferently.

"Zayn, I don't want to interfere in your marriage, but I can't stand the thought of Doriane eloping with another man while you continue to marry her twin sister and Doriane's name remains your wife. I get annoyed every time I hear my friends praising her as my daughter-in-law."

"Mom, weren't you the one who wanted this marriage to be finalized to preserve my reputation and that of the Wilde family?" Zayn retorted flatly.

"Right, now your reputation is protected. It's time for you to divorce her and try a relationship with Leticia."

Their voices were getting closer. Danera's ears perked up when she heard Leticia's name come out of her mother-in-law's mouth.

"Mom, I've only been married for three days and you want me to get a divorce? That's not a funny joke." Zayn's brow furrowed when he heard divorce.

"Mom's not joking, but you don't have to worry about your reputation. As long as you're the one divorcing Danera and getting into a relationship with Leticia, no one will question your decision and I'll make sure the news about Doriane marrying another man never exists. You just need to divorce her on the grounds that Doriane is not suitable as your wife."

Danera bit her lip as her heart tightened at their conversation. Although she wanted to escape from her marriage with Zayn, when she heard about the divorce and her 'husband' wishing to have a relationship with another woman, she felt inexplicable.

The sound of their steps grew closer, but Danera could not hear Zayn reply to Emily's words.

Danera looked stiff when Zayn and Emily were in front of her. She tried to smile and greet Emily. "Good afternoon, Mom."

"Since when have you been there?" Emily narrowed her eyes and stared reproachfully at Danera.

"Uhm..." Danera hesitated momentarily, wanting to say that she had been there for a while and had heard part of their conversation. She glanced at Zayn and saw the male staring at her with an expressionless face. Danera wondered what the man was thinking at the moment.

"I've been here long enough ...." Danera was finally honest and avoided Zayn's gaze.

"So you were eavesdropping on our conversation? That's bad behavior." Emily reproached her with a cold voice. "Since you've heard I'll be honest with you two. Zayn, you'd better divorce her quickly and get together with Leticia. You and Leticia used to like each other and you promised to marry her. I'm going to be honest, I like Leticia and want you to be with her," Emily said firmly while looking at Danera sharply as if challenging her to argue.

But Danera just smiled and listened obediently as if unperturbed.

Emily continued with her sentence. "Zayn, I don't want you to choose the wrong woman again. I want you to marry Leticia and have children soon. Your mother and father are looking forward to having grandchildren from you. You and Leticia are no longer young, so hurry up and get divorced and marry Leticia."

Danera stared at the ceiling of the room and wondered to herself if there was another mother-in-law like Emily in this world who chose a 'wife' for her son in front of his legal wife.

But come to think of it, she became Zayn's wife only in Doriane's name and didn't take the marriage seriously. But the law still binds them, right? She has the right to protest if her 'husband' is pushed to another woman, right?

Zayn, who had been observing Danera's expression, frowned slightly at how calm the woman was when her husband was being set up with another woman in front of her.

"Mom you talk too much. I'll talk to you later." Zayn turned his head and pushed his mother's shoulder gently into the elevator. He grabbed Danera's hand before pulling her out.

"Zayn!" Emily looked at him with an unhappy expression.

"Bye, Mom." Zayn didn't listen to her and pressed the elevator's close button.

"Just a moment." Emily held the elevator doors from closing and shot Danera a glare.

"I heard you had an interview today at Alisher's company and got accepted right away?"

Danera stared at her for a moment. She thought of no one but Leticia, the person who told Emily about her interview.

"Yes, Mom. Did Leticia tell you?"

"Right," Emily replied coldly. "What's wrong with you? Why are you applying for a job in a field that isn't your major? I'm telling you to stop wasting everyone's time immediately. Alisher isn't some random company that hires random rookies who don't know anything."

"But I passed the interview," Danera complained at being considered a random rookie who knew nothing.

Emily shot her a warning look.

"I know my mom likes you because it was careless to hire you who doesn't know anything. I'm warning you to stop playing around. Don't harm Alisher just because my mother likes you. Tell her that you have no intention of working in her company and leave your place to someone more professional, namely Leticia."
