Chapter 243

Pearl couldn't help smiling and giggling to herself at breakfast, like an insane person.

Erik looked up from his phone and then back at it again every time she laughed to herself.

"Ok. What? What is going on over there with you?" He asked.

"Nothing, I'm sorry." She said, giggling again. He looked at her and put his phone down and walked over to her. He took her tea out of her hand and put it down. "What is so funny?" He asked.

"I had the best night of my life last night. The hottest, sexiest night ever. The best sex. The dinner. The care. I'm giggling remembering it. I feel ridiculous." Pearl said, covering her mouth and her smile.

"You've gone mad. Completely mad." He said, laughing.

"Yes. I have. It's taken over." She said, laughing. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulders.

"Put me down!" She shouted.

"I am taking you to the bedroom to shag the crazy out of you." He said.

"Good luck with that." Pearl said, laughing.

"Hey!" Pearl said to everyone when they got back to Highgrove House. "It's so nice to be back in the country and away from the palace." Pearl said. "The house looks amazing!"

"I had them each make up their own rooms for when they stay with us." Erik said.

"Great idea." She said.

"So, we were thinking we could maybe play a gig locally?" Dylan said. Pearl looked at Erik. He smiled and nodded.

"But we would need Tony." She said.

"It's a good thing I'm here, then." He said, walking around the corner. "Tony! How are you. How is your mom?" Pearl asked.

"She is doing well. In remission. I missed you guys so I flew out for some time away. Hope you don't mind." He said.

"Of course not. Happy you're here." Erik said.

"Where's Auggie and Maggie?" Pearl asked.

"They are still at the palace." Dylan said.

"Is everything ok?" Pearl asked.

"Yes. I guess they are just getting to know Edward and Frances better. They said they would be here a little later tonight." Dylan said.

Pearl made tea and sat on the patio, enjoying the evening air and the flowers that had begun to bloom in the beautiful garden. Everyone was inside laughing and singing. She never knew she could be so happy. She walked around and looked at all the different plants and greenery and blooms. She felt so much at home here. She felt like this was home. For the first time in her life. She then had an idea, the best idea. She took out her cell and called her attorney.

"Thank you. That sounds good." She said as she hung up.

"What are you doing out here, by yourself?" Dylan asked.

"Just walking. Thinking. How are you?" She asked.

"Man, Pearl, it's been a helluva year." He said.

"It certainly has." She said.

"I've been thinking about it and I don't think you should give up music. I know your life is going to change, but I think you should keep this thing going, if you can. Not for us. Not for anyone, but for you." He said.

"I've been thinking about it. How to make it work. I don't know if I will be able to, but I think I'll try. I know Erik will support it." She said.

"He will support anything for you. He's so in love with you, I've never seen anything like it." Dylan said.

"Thank you. I know I've said it before but I can't say it enough. Thank you for being my friend." She said.

"It's been the greatest thing that's ever happened to me in this life." He said, smiling.

They walked around the gardens until it was too dark to see anymore.
