A villain is born

"Why are we here?" I asked, trying my hardest to mask my terror. What type of joke is Lily trying to pull? She didn't say a word; she just stared blankly at me.

"Lily," I called loudly, the terror setting in. The air around us felt heavy and oppressive, and I couldn't shake the sense of impending danger.

"Apologize to me," she said flatly. Huh?

"What?" I asked, confused and bewildered by her demand.

"Apologize to me, and I'll take you out of here," she said, her voice devoid of emotion. Did I do something to warrant an apology?

"What did I do?" I asked, trying to understand her sudden hostility.

"What didn't you do?" she asked, and I frowned. There's no way I did anything to Lily. I have been actively trying to stay away from her for my own sake, so there's no way I did anything, but…
