3 First Fight

Once I entered the game, I immediately noticed a massive reduction in my physical and mental abilities, similar to how I was before I began training. Afterwards, I noticed that the world look realistic enough to the point I almost doubt I'm in a game. I quickly examine my surroundings and see an ancient-looking village with dirt paths and wooden/stone houses and small stands set up with merchants advertising their merchandise. There are many NPCs (Non-Player Controlled Characters) visiting the stalls and entering/leaving the different buildings and shops. I also notice a sparse amount of players around the village. They are rather easy to see due to their name and level being displayed above their heads, the text is rather small but becomes larger the longer I focus on the writing.

First things first, I should find out the different services/shops available in the village and if there are any potential quests available.

*Approximately an Hour later*

"Hello Sir, do you have anything that you would like my help with?" I ask a buff middleaged man that is standing behind the counter in a Blacksmithing Shop.

"Hello there Young un, now that you mention it, my ore storage is running low, would you be willing to go mine some copper ore for me. Here is a pickaxe to allow you to mine the ore as well as a mining skill book."

[Blacksmiths Ore Requisition Quest: Reward for Accepting, Mining Pickaxe {White}, Introduction to Mining {White}. Request requirements: Mine 50 copper ore. Reward upon completion: Unknown]

"I would love to Sir, I will now take my leave and return with your required Ore", I say while turning around and waving goodbye. From my observations, I have learnt that all NPCs act humanlike, but the AI (Artificial Intelligence) will get better and more realistic, the higher the level/tier of the character. To summarise, I got several quests, Collect Bita Herb (Provides minor healing effect), collect 20 rabbit pelts, collect 50 copper ore. I also found several starting items in my inventory. These are a map that will self-update with locations I have discovered, as well as equipment/weapon.

Beginners Chestplate {White}

DEF - 5

Durability ∞/∞

Beginners Trousers {White}

DEF - 4

Durability ∞/∞

Beginners Shoes {White}

DEF - 1

Durability ∞/∞

Beginners Sword {White}

ATK - (10-15) (Minimum Value-Maximum Value)

Durability ∞/∞

Due to the fact I have no other equipment to compare the beginner equipment with, I currently do not know how bad the equipment is. Although I'm sure, the benefit of infinite durability will more than make up for it. I also looked around for any facilities where I could learn any combat-related skills, but I was unable to. From the different lifestyle class quests, I got the Beginners Mining Skill {White} and Beginners Gathering Skill {White}, the former allows me to mine white grade ores/gems and the latter will enable me to collect white grade plants.

I haven't yet engaged in conversations with other players yet as they all immediately grouped up and left the village, I assume it is to kill creatures and get exp (Experience Points). I did, however, pay attention to the direction that the majority of the players travelled which is towards the north of the Village, not wanting to put too much effort into choosing a direction I decided to follow the masses and also go North while hunting for my required quest items.

*Approximately five minutes later*

*Thud* *Thud* *Thud* (these are sound effects)

I see a rabbit hop out of a nearby bush in front of me. It is approximately 1.5 times bigger than a regular rabbit, but it doesn't look all that threatening. After observing it for a second, a semi-transparent screen appears in front of my eyes displaying the rabbit's basic stats.

Rabbit {Common}

Lv 1

Hp 50/50, Sp 30/30, Mp 0/0

Stats

Body 3, Mind 0, Soul 1,

Skills - Bite, Jump Kick, Headbutt

Judging from its stats, the rabbit probably won't be that difficult to defeat, but I won't underestimate it just because its stats are lower than mine, it does have the advantage of having combat-related skills while I don't. I unsheath my sword and cautiously walk towards the rabbit while ready to attack upon seeing any sudden movements. Once I am 5 meters away, the rabbit suddenly turns towards me and starts running towards me, the speed of the rabbit is relatively quick for its size but is slow enough for me to react. I take a big step forward and swing my sword down aiming for the rabbit's neck, and then I successfully hit it. The number 30 popped up which I assume is the damage I dealt; I am a little disappointed considering a real rabbit would have died from having its neck sliced with a sword, although if any other players were to witness his moves, they would be shocked at the precision and speed of his attack. After I pulled my sword back in preparation to land another attack, the rabbit suddenly tripled in speed and headbutted my stomach. Although I felt pain due to the attack, I just ignored it and stabbed my sword into the rabbit's eye and finished it off. I see a notification show up in the side of my eye saying Exp + 10. I take a quick look round to see if there are any threats nearby, upon seeing none, I walk over to the rabbit and see it turn into white light and disappear leaving a couple of items on the floor, there are a single copper coin and a Rabbit Pelt {white}.
