(2) Kireina's first steps

Kireina-2 Sasuke-5 Itachi-10

ITACHI'S POV

I was playing with my baby sister since I had the day off today "C'mon Ki-Ki, you can do it!" I encouraged with my hands outstretched, smiling.

"No, I 'can!" she protested, her tiny hands on the side of the table, her legs shaking as she tried to hold her body weight up, supported by the small coffee table with a nervous expression on her face.

I let out a soft sigh. "Don't say that Ki-Ki. C'mon, I'll catch you if you fall. I promise." I said reassuringly.

"Nuh uh," she shakes her head, making the same face Sasuke made at her age and still did now, making me chuckle. Apparently, she thought my laughter was directed at her, and angrily pouted.

REI'S POV

Itachi-Nii had the day off so that means I get to spend time with him! I love it when he's home and I get to hang out with him because he's usually super busy working for the people in the weird animal masks.

I feel my short legs wobble and shake. He was trying to teach me how to walk, I kept saying I can do it, but it's too hard. I whined mentally and physically.

"C'mon Ki-Ki, you can do it," I heard him say stretching his arms, coaxing me to come towards him.

"No, I can't!" I protested, gripping the table with my small hands, my legs wobble beneath me. My toddler body began to shake under my weak legs.

"Ki-Ki," he tried again. I shook my head and decided to just give up, letting go of the coffee table, and fell down on the ground, letting out a small 'oof' as my bottom hit the cold hardwood floor.

I was done with falling over and over, so with all my toddler strength, I hoisted myself back up and toddled towards Itachi, my hands in the air.

'Walking makes me sleepy,' I thought. I then felt my brother's eyes gaze down at me as his face softened into a smile.

"Good job" He praised gently, petting my hair. I smiled and giggled happily, grabbing his hair and playing with the long locks gently.

ITACHI'S POV

I chuckled softly, before sighing. I then stood up and began to walk towards the sliding door we had instead of normal ones. I heard the pitter-patter of light feet.

Suddenly I felt a light tug on my pants and looked down and saw Kireina staring up at me, doe-eyed and innocent. Already understanding, I smiled apologetically.

She hummed gently under her breath, picking at the thread of my pants, her Uchiha eyes staring up at me.

I glance back at where she was sitting previously, comparing to where she was standing right now. I was proud it had all paid off. Sasuke was too impatient and forced her to her feet too quickly, always resulting in Kireina falling. I had hoped my gentler approach would work, and it had.

She cocked her head to the side cutely, wanting me to pet her hair, which I obliged happily. Her hair was always so soft and smelled beautiful. She giggled, pulling at my fingers, her small white teeth shining. "I make 'Tachi happy?" She asked in her high-pitched cute voice.

"Yes, you did." I chuckled, picking her up in my arms.
