Prologue: The Accident
Eryndor Thorne's life changed forever on a crisp autumn evening, October 12th, 2010. He was only eight years old, sitting in the backseat of his parents' car, when the unthinkable happened. A drunk driver ran a red light, slamming into their vehicle with a deafening crash.
Eryndor remembered the sound of shattering glass, the scent of smoke, and the feeling of weightlessness as the car spun out of control. His parents' voices, once full of laughter and warmth, were reduced to cries of pain and fear.
In the chaos that followed, Eryndor was pulled from the wreckage, his small body bruised and battered. He watched in horror as his parents were cut from the twisted metal, their faces pale and still. The last thing he saw was his mother's hand, her fingers slipping from his as she was taken away.
The days that followed were a blur of hospital visits, funeral services, and tears. Eryndor was left alone, his world shattered like the glass of the car window. He was sent to live with a foster family, strangers who tried to comfort him but couldn't fill the void left by his parents' passing.
As the years went by, Eryndor struggled to cope with the loss, his heart heavy with grief and anger. But on this fateful night, something was born – a spark of determination, a fire that would drive him to escape the darkness and find solace in a virtual world.
