The failed villain

"Ah, man!" Roger's head thunks against the table, tears prickling his eyes. "I hate that stupid novel! It's so damn annoying."

"Then why do you keep reading it!" The voice came from across the room, where two people sitting on opposite sides of the table stared at him with confusion. It was his parents.

"You always complain about it, yet continue to read it."

"Instead of reading those novels, go look for a job." Said his father. And after a deep sigh, he added. "You're almost twenty. How long are you going to live with us."

Roger shrugged and left the house without saying anything. He wanted to clear his mind and go to a video game store. He loved the book. However, after a while, he started to dislike the main character and instead was rooted for a villain. However, he knew that the villain would never win. So he decided to stop reading it, and on his way to the store, he threw the book into the garbage can.

"Well, this is a goodbye." He stared at the garbage can for a long time before leaving.

As he was walking the passage, he heard a tire screech. He turned around to see the truck going straight for him. The sudden impact knocked the air out of his lungs, and he fell back into the street.

* * * * * * *

When he opened his eyes, he couldn't see anything. Everything was pitch black. Why? He kept asking himself. When his eyes finally adjusted, he realized he was in a room he had never seen before. He was lying down on something soft. A bed, most likely. How did he get here? He looked up at the ceiling and tried moving again.

In the back of the room were a wardrobe and a mirror. He saw a wardrobe and a mirror. He walked toward the mirror with caution. As he was getting closer, his hands were shaking. He felt nervous because he had no injuries, so he feared that this might be one of those cliche moments where a protagonist gets transferred into another world after death. And after he looked in the mirror, he saw a handsome young adult: dark gray hair, silver eyes, and excellent facial features.

"Oh, shit..." Roger whispered to himself. "This isn't happening. This is a dream?"

Before reincarnation, he was neither ugly nor handsome. He was barely above average. However, now he looked like a model. He posed in front of a mirror and studied himself. His hair was silky and perfect. On top of all that, his body looked great. He didn't have any visible scars.

"Not bad." He murmured to himself. "Now... Where am I?"

The question echoed around the room, bouncing off the wall and creating a symphony of silence. The silent room could hear no other sound except for Roger's footsteps. He wandered around the house looking at things, mostly empty shelves. After exploring, he found a schoolbag full of notes and a wallet. He checked the wallet and found an ID. There he saw his name and his picture.

"Loki Crimson..." He said aloud and started thinking about where he had heard this name before. "Wait a minute..."

Then he realized Loki Crimson was one of the villains in the novel he read before death.

"Yes!" He exclaimed, but it turned into despair after one minute of joy. "No!"

Loki was utterly humiliated; not only did Loki's girlfriend Sara leave him for the main character, but even his childhood friend Clara entered the main character's harem. The two of them were the reason Loki died. This was why Roger hated the main character and rooted for Loki in the first place.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" He yelled under his breath. "What the fuck am I going to do?!"

He took a couple of deep breaths, and suddenly his head cleared. Suddenly, Loki's memories flashed through his head; his childhood friends, the movies he went to, the books he read. The skills he learned. It was like his mind unlocked, and everything came flooding back. At the moment, he was 18 years old—almost nineteen. Now Loki lives with his elder brother, Darvin.

After calming down, he went to bed and thought about everything he had learned in the novel. He knew about the betrayal that awaited him and the misfortune his girlfriend would bring. But he also knew that his girlfriend was holding him back from unlocking his full potential out of fear of Loki's hidden powers.

"Uh... Status?"

Roger tried to open the status window, but then he realized how silly it was. After all, even in the novel, only the main character could use the status window because he had the superpower system. The rest of the people had to learn to use their powers or magic on their own. Very few people were born with superpowers, and Loki was one of them. He had a very overpowered combination of abilities that the original Loki wasted.

"How do I open the eye of chaos," Loki asked himself after remembering two of Loki's primary abilities. The eye of chaos. Which allowed him to see and control the mana in the air. This was a highly overpowered ability because it granted Loki an almost unlimited amount of mana. Not to mention the second ability - the chaotic creation. The skill defied the heavens and allowed Loki to use creation powers. It could create anything he desired. The downside was that it required vast amounts of mana. But with the eye of chaos, that downside disappeared forever.

Loki focused his mana into his eyes, and soon they began to glow. He started to see mana flying around like little colorful snowflakes. He smiled and pointed his finger at the red snowflake in the air. When it fell on his finger, it started to burn.

"Auch!"

He jumped up and put the finger into his mouth, sucking on it to relieve the pain. Once the pain stopped, he continued experimenting with different mana attributes. After a while, he got tired and went back to bed. Before falling asleep, he made a list of things to do to survive.

First: Train

Second: Get rid of toxic people in my life.

Third: Join a guild (and maybe start a cult).

Fourth: Save brother's life.

Fifth: Meet Julia.

In the novel, Loki was a nice person and kind, and you could even call him a pushover. That's why he was so weak, even though he was a villain with enormous potential and a threat to the main character. He became a villain after mc accidentally killed his older brother during a fight in school. Even as a villain, he was a pushover; unlike other villains, he never killed and rarely manipulated others. The whole school knew he was a pushover, so he was often bullied despite the power he possessed. Once, his brother fought his bully, and mc ganged up on him and killed him.

Julia was the only girl who stayed loyal to Loki. She was pretty intense and intelligent. Although she liked being the most brilliant girl in class, she was shy. She was the type of person who wouldn't dare look directly into anyone's eyes. She didn't talk too much and didn't speak more than necessary, which helped her avoid unnecessary social contact. But what surprised most people was that she had a crush on Loki. After Loki died, she ended her life by drinking a poison pill.

After a while, he put the notebook in his backpack and slept.

My first wpc, not going to lie. I am pretty excited.
