He spent his entire youth moving across the world from one army base to another. His irregular lifestyle was meant to come to an end with he started college, but during his freshman year. He was scouted by a Hollywood Associate Producer.
The role he was scouted for was Genghis Khan’s son in a movie about the famous Khan’s demise. His acting career ultimately peaked with this role, as he quickly discovered there weren't many opportunities for a Korean-American actor in Hollywood. Particularly one who was too white to play Asian roles and far too Asian to play white roles.
Because of his distinctive appearance, bulk, and stunt work, he was in enough demand to make a living. Most of his castings were as generic bad guys, but as he neared forty, he began to see the writing on the wall and started looking for other careers.
He was offered him a job instructing Korean Idol Trainees in acting, English, and Western entertainment culture by a former acquaintance.
Alan Thomas leapt at the offer, seeing the job as a chance to make easy money in his twilight years.
Who could have predicted that he would soon find himself the host of a system that would drag him into the darkest corners of the industry.
