The next day, after breakfast, Max and I went to the council hall, where all the Elders of the werewolf council had gathered under my instruction.
After thinking about it, all the Elders must have known by now of Lina and dark magic involvement during Abigail’s case and escape.
Therefore, for them to tell me no suspicious attacks had been seen or recorded must be a lie.
They had at least looked at the reports on the corpses we had gathered during Abigail’s escape and should know it was done by Lina and her master; it would be impossible for them not to know what I meant by ‘suspicious attacks’.
And since they knew of Lina's involvement, they should've known about the rogues' attacks, too, as Lina and the rogues were on the same side.
This could only mean one thing...
That they were deliberately keeping it a secret from me, and there were spies among them, just like Max had told me last night.
