Chapter 22

(I just watched a battle between Lance and Diantha in the anime, Bro. It's so slow-paced and bland. It may have always been like that and didn't realise because I stopped watching the anime since sun and moon, but still holy 90% of the time is them taking turns to use moves, is that supposed to be happening? Back to the ff).

Both trainers hearing begin, throwing out their Pokeball, respectively.

Pokemon: Meditite (Light Yellow)

"Medi Meditite!"

"Mightyena!"

Brendan making the first move calls out, "Mightyena use crunch!"

Mightyena hearing this goes for a crunch. Mightyena getting up to the Meditite gets a direct hit. Brawly seeing this attack counters.

"Meditite use low kick then follow up with a fire punch!" Brawly says to his Meditite. Meditite hearing his trainer go for a low kick. The low kick connecting with Mightyenas leg.

Meditite now trying to follow up with a fire punch misses because of Mightyena dodging.

"Mightyena use sand-attack then crunch!" Brendan calls out to Mightyena

Mightyena using sand-attack distracts Meditite and gets another direct hit. Meditite tries to counter with a fire punch to no avail as Mightyena dodges again and finishes off Meditite with another super effective crunch.

Brawly retrieving his Meditite, sends out his next Pokemon.

Pokemon: Machop (Talent Orange)

"Machop!"

"Lets go machop! Start if off with a brick break!"

Machop hearing his trainer, quickly run up to the tired, Mightyena, hits it with a super effective brick break finishing him off.

Brendan without batting an eye, sends out Kirlia. The reason for this is because Kirlia is super effective against fighting types as a Psychic type, being able to teleport away and deal damage from afar (Psychic > Fighting).

"Kirlia!"

Brendan using Kirlias telepathy, says, 'Kirlia use calm mind then psychic.' Kirlia hearing this uses a calm mind, before Brawly can say anything to attack Kirlia quickly uses Psychic to throw Machop across the arena like a Pidgey.

Machop recovering from the super effective psychic, stands up and waits for his trainers instructions. "Machop use bullet punch!"

Brawly trying to at least get some chip damage tells Machop to attack. Machop trying to get up to Kirlia fails as Kirlia uses teleport just before Machop can inflict any damage.

'Kirlia use psychic to finish it off' Brendan says, already guessing which Pokemon Brawly has last.

Kirlia right after a teleport uses Psychic and flings Machop out of the arena, making it faint. Brawly now up to his last, Pokemon sends out his ace Pokemon.

Pokemon: Makuhita (Green)

"Makuhita!"

'Kirlia quickly use psybeam!' Brendan says, wanting to dampen its movement before it can do anything. Makuhita using detect dodges the psybeam. Brawly after this tells Makuhita to use knock-off then revenge right after.

Kirlia, exhausted already from the Teleport and a few Psychics, isn't able to dodge getting hit directly by a knock-off. 'Kirlia before he attacks again use double team!'

Kirlia on the floor uses a double team to escape the revenge, the Makuhita tried to hit it with. 'Kirlia use psybeam!'

Kirlia using psybeam gets a direct hit on Makuhita. Not stopping there, though, Kirlia uses a disarming voice to do extra chip damage.

Makuhita, now extremely tired tries to recover from the attacks and stand up. but before it can its hit with another direct psybeam, knocking it out of the stadium as it faints mid air just before hitting the wall.

"What a splendid match Rookie! It was a fun match here's the badge you've fought for." Brawly says nudging the badge to Brendan

Brendan taking the badge smiles and thinks to himself 'five more to go.'

Brendan, after all the pleasantries leaves the gym and on the way to the Pokecentre gets a notification.

Hey Brendan! Hope you've gotten your badge already seen from my files, you've reserved a gym battle. After you finish can you please enter the cave near your location? My son Steven Stone, the Champion of the Hoenn, is drilling himself stuck in the ruins, thanks!

Brendan seeing this thinks it's a coincidence that Steven is in the cave while he's here to challenge Brawly, just like the games. Brendan also noticed the subtle flex of Mr. Stone talking about them being the biggest and richest company in Hoenn.

Brendan, after getting his Pokemon healed heads off to the cave where in the games is where Steven Stone is looking at a carving of Groudon and Kyogre. Brendan first on his agenda is to heal his Pokemon at the Pokecentre first so he heads there.

Brendan talking to Nurse Joy and giving her his Pokeball, sees a familiar person sitting by themselves in the Cafe. Brendan realising who it is starts walking up to them.

"Hey!"

Holy 115 power stones?????

Safe to say, the 75 power stone milestone has been passed a while ago. We all know what that means. Shiny Egg!
