Chapter 75

Unaware of how he was exhausting himself quicker by using his abilities in order to pressure the princess for answers. Vorbuk had unknowingly hindered himself due to his inability to calm himself down properly. His focus had been detoured away from the thing most important. His mana.

Vorbuk's vision began to feel hazy as he began to realize the black smoke from his shadow abilities had been draining him of his mana. His actions had been done without thinking clearly.

"I told you I don't give a damn about your name-" He tried his hardest to stop the black fog that was around them in order to buy himself time to leave. There was no time to deal with the young lady in front of him.

"Are you alright? Were you wounded?" Princess Isis stepped towards Vorbuk only to find him quickly retreating a few steps back from her.

"Don't. Touch. Me." He growled deeply at her with a glare that was sharp. It was clear to her that he was still on guard against her.

"You act as if I'm a disease.." She sighed out knowing that he would not willingly let her anywhere near him to help.

"There is no difference after all." He responded without pause. When it came to the kingdom of Theapan, the things they did for the ice queen was no worse then a plague itself. No hesitation was needed for him to consider anyone from that ice queen's side as nothing better then a plague to look at.

"Wh-What?! I was just trying to help you because you helped me earlier." She growled sharply at him with her tail and ears standing straight up with frustration.

So much had happened to her lately and she had merely thought she met someone who was finally willing to help her. Yet the truth was that knowing where she came from he had reacted coldly. It did not matter where she went because anyone who learnt of who she was either disliked her or wanted her life for things that her father was doing or had done in the past. Nothing could ever change the fact that her kingdom was one of them who sided with the ice queen.

It wasn't her personal actions.. It was her own father's actions that labeled her as no better then him. Vorbuk's reaction to meeting her was no different to any other person who came across her. It was a truth that she accepted even if she hated it.

Vorbuk did not want to waste time with her any further. Turning to leave he staggered to get away from the princess as quickly as possible. Mumbling could be heard from behind but he could no longer make out the words being spoken. His consciousnesses was fading.

"Hey?!" Her voice called out loudly as the sounds of her steps could be heard rushing towards him.

It was impossible for her to reach him in time to do anything to help him remain steady. Vorbuk would not allow her to touch him while he was conciuous regardless of what she said as well. She could only watch as the beautiful man that had moments ago helped her fell to the ground.

There was no time for him to react to his body falling. It was impossible to keep himself awake any further. His voice could not call out to her because he blindly had wasted too much time and his mana had depleted. Vorbuk's human form had collapsed in front of the Princess Isis. With no mana left to keep his human form as he fell into a deep sleep. The princess was left to witness the truth of the man in front of her.

Princess Isis rushed to the fallen beast in front of her that had just moments ago been one of the most beautiful men she had ever seen. She had thought he was a demi like her but to her surprise it was a companion beast who just had the rare ability to transform. It was not unusual. It was simply rare. The beast in her eyes was simply beautiful and kind.

"Typical.. wouldn't even let me help you and now you've fallen to this state. If it was simple exhaustion you shouldn't had forced yourself." She whispered under her breath as she carefully wrapped her arms around the wolf and began to drag him along with her into one of the abandoned houses close by.

Dropping him onto the floor away from the doors and windows she couldn't take her eyes away from him. Exhausting his mana did not stop the beast from fighting the exhaustion. His sleep only lasted a few hours before he was able to wake up. Body shaking slightly as he began to growl at the sight of her and the unknown place.

"Who-" and "What-" were the questions that she could gather from the look on the wolf's face as its eyes slowly opened to glare at her.

He's still on guard.. Obviously still wondering who I am.. She thought to herself before taking a few careful steps towards the wolf. His bright red eyes still glaring with her. Though she could tell he was exhausted and trying to force himself to stay awake.

"If I left you to sleep in the street you would have died long ago. No need to thank me!" She said jokingly to him in attempt to lighten the mood of the room a bit. Effort to change the mood or not did not matter in the end. The cold look in Vorbuk's eyes never changed in the slightest.

Seeing that her joke did not help the situation she could only bite her tongue. A lot of things had happened to cause her to flee her own kingdom. Her father was the king and the things that he did for Queen Lyra were things that she could never agree with. She never imagined that along the way of her fleeing her own home she would get caught up in such a situation at the Kingdom of Cista.

"I really don't have anything to do with this situation. You're misunderstanding me." She said bluntly to him. In his wolf form it really felt convenient for her because he could not argue back with her. However his gazing eyes was still enough to make her shudder.

The wolf did not seem to want to respond to her. Leaving her to wonder if he was still suspicious of her or going to let the whole thing go. He was the first person she had really had much interaction with since she fled and had helped her.

Watching him lower his head back down and close his eyes she could only assume he had decided to drop the matter. Relief was the only thing she could feel when she saw him fall back asleep.

Sleeping was the only way he could recharge his mana pool. Little did the princess know, he had not decided to drop the matter. Vorbuk still very much was considering killing The Princess of Theapan. But since she was willing to allow him to sleep.. he was taking the chance to fully charge his mana.
