CHAPTER 17: FIRST LIFE THREATENING BATTLE

Something was watching her. Its red eyes shone in the dark giving the whole place a creepy vibe.

"What again now? I'm too tired for this " Jia said lazily chopping the boar into pieces.

The figure watching her was a wolf. Its eyes were exceptionally bright while the rest of its body was pitch black.

"What do you want" She yelled to the wolf.

As if taking that as a cue, the wolf came out. It was a 7 feet tall, gigantic wolf with huge sharp teeth.

It growled at her, instigating a fight. Jia ignored it.

"System, what level is the wolf "Jia asked the system with excitement.

[Level 20]The system answered with no emotion

"Oh yeah. It is time" Jia said snickering at the wolf's eyes that blazed with anger.

"I still don't know what this is all about," Jia said cluelessly.

"A fight you want, A fight you're going to get, "Jia said.

It rushed towards her. She snorted slightly before using an alpha strike. It countered her with its paw.

"BOOM"

She was thrown a few meters away.

" Another alpha wolf, "she said coughing.

As she tried to stand up, it released sonic waves in her direction. She clutched her head hoping for it to stop while blood stained her hands. The wolf had a satisfied look. Then it stopped releasing the waves.

She tried to stand up, but her feet were wobbly. She used her saber as support to stand up.

Jia looked at the wolf with a pained expression. The pain in her eyes suddenly turned to extreme anger.

" FIRE DOMAIN "

The whole place became encapsulated in flames. The flames did little to the wolf. It released sonic waves again, causing blood to drip unto her hands.

Jia saw the wolf looking at her, amused.

She tried using her beginner mastery of gravity law.

The wolf used sonic waves to break the skill.

"I have a few last cards left," She thought to herself gritting her teeth in pain.

Summoning the Buddha's sword body, there was a big bang.

"BOOM"

The golden body shone in the night sky. Its eyes were lifeless and each handheld a black saber. It took gigantic steps toward the wolf. The wolf was enraged that something dared stand in its way. It released sonic waves hoping to smash the Buddha into pieces. But the sonic waves were only reflected in it.

The wolf howled in pain.

Jia lay on the floor with a satisfied smirk.

The wolf sprang up again. Its eyes shone with killing intent. It opened its huge mouth wanting to eat the Buddha.

Jia wanted to run away but she couldn't. The wolf had locked her in place with a special skill.

"I wish Eli was here and the rest of them," Jia said thinking about her friends back 'home.'

The Buddha had been crushed into pieces and swallowed by the wolf.

"Dang it" Jia cursed under her breath. The wolf approached her with a sinister expression.

All of a sudden, it stopped dead in its tracks. A golden light shone from it. The Buddha reassembled itself. That action split the wolf into pieces.

The different parts of the wolf were strewn everywhere. Its brain landed on Jia's face.

"Ew" Jia said grimacing, throwing the brain miles away.

She had already been fully healed from the mental injury, but her head still felt dizzy.

"Damn wolf" She cursed again dismissing the Buddha's sword body.

[Ding! Killed level 20 sonic wolf. The host has received a new stat; Mental fortitude] The system announced.

[Ding! +1000 in mental fortitude] The system announced again.

"System, what is mental fortitude, "Jia asked the system.

[How much you can resist mental attacks] The system replied.

"That should save me from sonic animals," Jia said sighing.

She summoned the Buddha's sword body.

"Carry me" She ordered it.

It carried her with a lifeless expression and went back to where Jia was before.

" Oh no. It's already frigid "Jia said with a disappointed look.

" Find me dinner "She ordered it like a servant.

It dropped her down and took off.

" Advantages, "Jia said leaning on a rock and yawning.

30 minutes later

Jia slept for 30 minutes. But she decided to wake up. It was at that time that the Buddha returned with a deer in one of its numerous hands. She accepted it and dismissed the Buddha again.

"Ah, fresh, "she said breathing in

"System, do you think it's time to go back "Jia asked the system.

The system did not reply.

She continued to slice the deer into tiny pieces. She found a couple of sticks and she made meat jerky.

Jia didn't know whether to stay back or go.

" System, how many days have I spent now "Jia asked munching on the meat.

" If I were to stay the whole thirty days, then I'd have...22 days left, "Jia said doing some calculations.

" No. I'm not staying here for 22 days.2 more days should be enough "Jia said to herself sleeping off.
