Rebirth of the Third Party

Eunice Lin tried hard to maneuver the strirring wheel as her foot repeatedly slammed the breaks of her car. Due to her surging emotion she had unknowingly accelarated with the thought of arriving at the hotel as fast as she can. Not long later she felt that she is losing control of the wheels so she decided to slow down a bit. But she discovered that the breaks failed. Her body is shaking in both fear and adrenaline while the car travel at one hundred eighty kilometers per hour on the city's main road, way past the speed limit.

As if the heavens is telling her that she is not unlucky enough, as she approach an intersection, a ten wheeler cargo truck is also about to cross. And her lane is on red light. Unfortunately she has no means to stop. In instinctive response, she swerved her stirring wheels sharply to the right to avoid head on collision. But due to inertia, the car lost its balance and rolled several times still hitting the body of the truck.

Inside the decimated, upturned car, Eunice hang upside down with seatbelt on barely conscious. The white airbag that has been deployed is dyed red with blood. shattered glass littered the car with some embedded on her skin. Her stuffs were also thrown out from the compartment. A brown envelope with the logo of S City Hospital conveniently landed on a spot where she could see it. With the little strength she have left, Eunice open her eyes with difficulty and the first thing she saw was the medical report making her burst to tears.

Because of her injuries, Eunice can't even cry audibly. What came out is a low, pitiful whimper from her throat as her tears flow from her eyes to the top of her head. She moved her obviously fractured arm towards her abdomen, caressing it with her trembling hands. "Urgh..hhng (My baby)". She called towards the little life in her womb. Even though she can't speak coherently, her grunt is enough to convey her grief. No matter how she try to decieve herself, she knows that it is the end for her and her baby. She can only apologize to her unborn child for being a bad mother, causing both of their death.

Finally she decided to just resign to her fate and reflect on what had happened few minutes ago. After she return home to her apartment from her meeting with the wedding planner on the reception hall for tomorrow's ceremony, she immidiately prepared to rest for her big day tomorrow. But before she could even change out of her dress, she recieved a video message on her personal phone. Thinking that it was Zach Lu, her groom to be, she opened it without realizing that the sender is just a string of numbers.

What she saw on the video made her blood boil. In the video, her fiance is holding the waist of a woman as he open the door of a hotel VIP suite. The woman is leaning on his shoulders with her arms wrapped around his arm. As the two entered the room, the woman lifted her head. With the change in angle, Eunice was finally able to recognize the woman. It was her cousin Alice Han. Without even locking up behind her, she rushed to the parking lot and drove off. She didn't notice a hooded and masked man holding a cutting tool in the shadowed area of the parking lot.

Eunice left with a belly full of anger. But right now as her life is leaving her body, all the anger she felt disappeared. She only felt regret and self reproach. She knows that she will get her karma. But she thought that losing her family's love and her friends turning their backs on her was enough compensation. However she was wrong. But to think that she needs to pay with two lives, isn't it a bit too much? Was stealing someone else's man that grave of a crime? In the end he even returned to her side at the night before their wedding.

Yes, that man was not hers. He and her cousin are rumoured couple. Although both of them denied the rumor, everyone in the business and entertainment world didn't believe it. After all it is well known how the CEO of LuMin Conglomerate, Zach Lu, supported the Nationally Treasured Pianist Alice Han. He is the main investor of all of her concerts. He even founded the Illuminate Entertainment Company where Alice debuted, together with the genius musician and also a second generation young master Eugene Lin, Eunice's elder brother. Only a stupid person can't get the gist of things.

And Eunice is that specific stupid person. She hold on to the fact that Zach had denied the rumor and fearlessly pursued him. Her parents and brother who already recognized Zach as Alice's unofficial partner tried to discourage her but to no avail. So that time when she got drunk and Zach who was kind enough to help her and send her to a hotel room to rest, she grabbed the chance and seduced him. The morning after a paparazzi posted a photo of them leaving the hotel room. The next news that blew up is their engagement and upcoming wedding. Both the business and entertainment news blew up with the sudden announcement. Eunice was even cursed as a home wrecker and shameless third party online. But she is too happy to care.

That only happened two months ago. The netizens already vowed to roast her on her wedding. Who would've thought she will end up dying instead. 'I'm sure veryone would celebrate with my death.'
