Chapter CXXXVI - Breakthrough

Marcus slowly descended the steps into the empty room below the stone cottage. It was a simple square space with no light. Marcus held his palm up before him as he conjured a tiny fireball, illuminating the barren room.

He was nowhere near as talented as Harith, but he could manage to create simple objects. This prompted him to make small torch holders near the staircase. He reached into his inventory and brought out two torches, lighting them with his fire and placing them in their respective spots.

He turned around and went to the back wall. He placed his hand against the wall, closing his eyes. He imagined an oval platform slightly higher than the floor behind him. The stone began to lift up as he did, forming the landing for him.

He turned around, reaching into his inventory once more and procuring his meditation pillow. He dropped it down onto the small oval platform and stepped onto it, sitting in a lotus position.
