Randy doesn't know how long Rose froze in place. Without saying anything. Without moving. It was as if she had turned into a statue.
Her usually bright eyes turned chilly, like a cold lake. If her eyes didn't blink, Randy must have thought the girl had actually turned into a statue of the ice goddess.
But a second later, Randy saw her chilly face slowly turn black as if someone had just hung a dark cloud near her head.
Still can't digest Randy's sentences. "He Dies!?" Rose murmurs under her breath.
Oliver died because of her—He protected her from the tree branch—how can she carry on her life with this burden?
After a while, Rose could express what was on her mind.
"Please tell me, Randy… you're playing a prank on me, right? This isn't real!!! I knew my dad could have saved him. My dad never lost a patient on his operating table. Never!!!" She stared intently at Randy—her eyes had lost their usual radiance.
