Natural Disaster(4)

Date: July 30, 2019; 9:07 AM GMT+8 Location: Wood Province, Q City, Yellow Mountain District, China

Wood Province is comprised of 19 municipalities and three cities, one of which is the highly urbanized city of P.

Q City, ranking third among the three cities, has a population of four hundred fifty thousand residents. Yellow Mountain District, on the other hand, is acknowledged as the poorest district among the eight, but its natural beauty is still undeniable. It is surrounded by Yellow Mountain on the left side and a clean, wide river stretching around 100 miles on the right. Behind it lies a municipality that relies heavily on farming.

The Jiang family lives in the rear area around Yellow Mountain District. The nearest neighbor is 200 meters away, and there are very few houses here compared to other districts because it is surrounded by empty farmlands. It takes one hour to reach the city center by motorcycle.

Yellow Mountain District is often neglected because whenever it rains, the water in Yellow Mountain flows out into Long River, causing flooding in 75 percent of the district. Another reason is that its soil is not suitable for urban development and can only be used for farming.

Jiang House

Xiao Yan exclaimed, "You're so beautiful, sister Yue!" while admiring her sister's clear and profound eyes.

"You're beautiful too, Xiao Yan," she replied.

"I wonder what his possible reaction will be when he sees you," Xiao Yan said playfully.

"Stop spouting nonsense, come on, we need to call your brother!" Yue replied, smiling.

Inside the small room on the left corner of the house, which used to be their parents' room, Jiang Chen was trembling, gritting his teeth, and frowning with his eyes tightly closed. You could see that his hands were almost bleeding from the force he used to grip his other arm.

He was having a nightmare, a frightening nightmare. In this particular nightmare, the world seemed corroded by a dark mist, and you could hear heart-breaking wails. Another scene was the world suffering from an imminent disaster, an earth-shattering earthquake. The sun seemed to be crying for help, and the sky was getting darker and darker, almost as if it were cheering for its triumph.

A huge bolt of lightning descended from the sky, following an orderly path as it struck major cities around the world. A fury that could ravage the heavens and earth.

As they stood at the entrance of a restaurant, a huge screech came to them. Jiang Chen gained extra strength and tried to pull the two girls quickly, but his efforts were in vain, especially with his sister, who seemed tightly rooted to the spot. He screamed, "Nooooooooooooooooooo!"

"Brother, wake up!" Jiang Yan poked his eyebrow.

"Nooooooooooooooo!" He quickly stood up and looked around, but found nothing. His soul seemed to be sucked away by something. His eyes were unfocused and he dejectedly sat down on the floor and cried. Yes, he cried.

"Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan," he sobbed.

"Brother!" His sister shouted, but to no avail.

"Brother!"

"Brother!"

"Brother!"

"Brother, what's wrong?" She worriedly hugged her brother and her eyes started to get red.

"Brother, I'm here."

"Brother, what's wrong?" She repeated it four times before she heard the voice she wanted to hear.

"Xiao Yan?" He grabbed his sister's hand and said, "Is that you, Xiao Yan?!"

"Yes, brother, it was me."

"What happened to you, brother? Are you having a nightmare again about Mom and Dad?" She quietly asked.

After 30 seconds, he started to regain his thoughts and said, "No, it was a different nightmare," and he added, "I was scared, I thought you would leave me too."

"No, brother, I won't leave you unless you stop treating me like a princess," she pouted and answered him.

He was teased by his sister's answer, and he laughed and reached for his sister's head and started ruffling her hair with his left hand. "Yes, my little princess."

But if you could see his back right now, it was drenched in sweat.

"It's too realistic. What's happening? Why do I always have this feeling that it was all real?" He thought to himself.

"Brother, you're smelly!" She wrinkled her nose and covered it with her hands, then started walking out of the room.

"Go take a bath. Sister Yue is already waiting," she said.

"Yes, give me 10 minutes," he answered and walked into the bathroom while holding and caressing his right hand.
