Brock looked up, "Something is wrong."
Chikorita mumbled worried, "Chiko."
Brock pat her head, "I'm sure the others will be okay. What I meant was it's too quiet outside."
Vulpix who had been helping carry stuff around paused, "Vul vul."
Golem nodded and followed the little fox Pokemon outside where things were creepily quiet. Brock followed them and wondered what was going on only to see Axel looking in the direction of the mountain with a glare that could kill. Before Brock could call out Axel was grabbed by his Blaziken and the two jumped back as a round of bullets landed where they were originally standing. Brock stifled his gasp as he held Golem and Vulpix back and hid behind the door, good thing he had not gone out yet. Lapras and Tyrunt were working together to build a wall using a bastardized version of rock tomb and ice beam.
Brock frowned, "We need to help but we can't go out there without being shot."
Golem nodded frowning, "Lem lem."
Brock, "I know, Golbat come out."
Golbat, "Gol?"
Brock, "Listen, I need you to use your supersonic and find out where our enemy who is shooting at us is located. See if you can figure out how many are there."
Golbat nodded and closed her eyes focusing on sending her supersonic waves outside discreetly. It had been a while since she has done it and had to focus, when she opened her eyes Brock had a map infront of her and a chalk. Her trainer told her to mark where the people were located on the map and it took her a few seconds but she was able to pinpoint them. Brock was planning on using Steelix to go underground and quietly come out the other side to knock them out. Golbat frowned not liking the idea of Brock endangering himself like that bit did not stop him.
Brock quietly moved to the other side of the medic area and checked before calling out Steelix, "Okay here's the plan. Golbat has discovered at least seven people here. So Steelix I need you to dig deep underground and deliver us quietly behind this rock. And then this is where Chikorita comes in."
Chikorita looked up at him surprised, "Chiko?"
Brock nodded, "Ash tells me you have been practicing on making your sleeping powder ten times more effective. I say this is a good chance to test it out."
Chikorita smirked, "Chikorita."
Steelix nodded and dug into the ground just as Brock picked Chikorita up and held on to Steelix's scale with one hand. Golem grabbed on to Steelix as well while holding Vulpix and Golbat flattened herself against him. They traveled for a while as Steelix went deep underground before Brock felt them moving upwards. They slowly came out behind the rock and Brock looked out only to shot at the others to scramble. Brock looked at the place they were in as it turned into dust.
One of the attackers spoke, "Well well have a wanna be hero boys."
Another one drawled, "We can see that Pharma. What do we do with him?"
Brock smiled, "How rude of you to speak as if I don't exist. Ah well. Golem you know what to do."
Golem who had hidden right after they reached the area attacked the machine gun they had been using to attack the Ranger post. The people cursed and started to attack Brock who was picked up by Steelix. Brock pat Steelix to thank him as they moved for cover followed by Golem. Back at the cabin Axel realized the shooting had stopped and along with some of the Rangers attacked the poachers. Brock hoped the others were doing better then he was at the moment, being attacked by poachers was not exactly a great way to spend time.
Ash meanwhile was on the lookout, "I hear engines."
Lucario, -It's too cloudy.-
Charizard rumbled, -We can hide in the clouds too. Hold on!-
Gengar hissed, "Geng gengar."
Pikachu growled, "Pika!"
Ash, "I know, buddy I know."
They hid among the dark clouds and Gengar used his illusions to hide them better just in time to see an unmarked helicopter fly by. Ash blinked before frowning and motioning for Charizard and Gengar to follow them discreetly and not be seen. Gengar nodded and focused on making the illusion stronger as they followed the copter to the middle of the mountain. Ash gasped on seeing a familiar face on the mountain and then growled on seeing a man try to capture him again using a weird technology.
Ash whispered urgently, "Charizard, see that machine? I want you to use heat blast, a highly compressed heat blast on it."
Charizard nodded before taking a moment to gather his energy, he would have to be careful not to hurt the other Pokemon. Ash felt the warmth of the fire move under him from where he was sitting and watched as Charizard roared and shot the attack surprising the group. Lucario sent an aura message to Mewtwo telling him to calm down and focus his psychic energy on protecting himself. Ash was shocked on seeing the man's face, he looked like Giovanni but much older and with blue eyes instead of brown.
Ash gritted his teeth, 'Jessie warned me that some of Giovanni's more unhinged family members were coming out of the woodwork. To think I would run into one of them here.'
The man smirked, "My my! If it isn't one of my brother's child."
Ash, "Who are you?"
The man was observing him making his skin crawl, "Ah! Where are my manners? My name is Gonzalez Rocketto, my dear Ash."
Ash felt a shiver of fear run down his spine, "I see. Can't say I'm happy to see you. What do you think you are doing here? Mt Quena is a no capture zone."
Gonzalez, "My dear... "
Ash growled, "Don't! Don't ever fucking call me that."
Gonzalez gave a dark smirk, "Now now that's no way to talk to an adult."
Ash scowled, "An adult knows better than to break rules."
Gonzalez chuckled, "Perhaps.... Wait!"
Gonzalez face turned murderous, "Where is Mewtwo? What have you done boy?"
Ash gave a wry smile, "And just like that the true personality comes out."
Gonzalez growled and snapped his fingers, "I am not playing around boy."
Ash looked around as grunts came out of the foliage, "I can see that. Charizard if you would do the honors."
Charizard looked straight at the opponent and smirked before releasing a very thick smoke screen and a loud roar. When the smoke cleared up Gonzalez cursed on seeing the brat and his Pokemon were gone from sight and ordered his men to search for them and he wanted both Mewtwo and Ash alive. He had been watching the more prominent children and Ash as a trainer had impressed him a little. Gonzalez smirked, he would be returning not just with a new weapon but also an heir, his heir's little rebellious attitude would need some fixing first however.
Gonzalez gave a dark chuckle, "You will regret betraying me Giovanni. I will take one of your children and then make you watch as he kills the other two."
Ash on the other hand had Charizard follow Lucario's aura, "Lucario, Pikachu, Gengar, are you okay? How is Mewtwo?"
Lucario was looking around warily, -We are fine, Mewtwo however is suffering from severe shock burns.-
Ash looked around and saw the water, "I think I remember this place now. The water here is special, very special. Help me take Mewtwo to the water. Hurry!"
Gengar nodded and picked Mewtwo up effortlessly, "Geng gengar."
Ash and Lucario helped Gengar slowly lower the hurt genetic Pokemon to the water that was crystal clear. And it was just in time as well as one of the walls blew up showing a darkly grinning Gonzalez. Ash cursed his poor luck and his forgetfulness, he should have written his memories down but then again if some unsavory person found the book. He did not want to think about what would have happened then. Ash only hoped the others were having better luck then he was at the moment as he dodged an attack from a Tyranitar.
Gou shot at Estraneo, "Max get out of here."
Max, "I don't think I can. Breloom is hurt and Mareep is exhausted."
Casey, "I'll open a path. Be ready to run."
Gou, "Earthquake?"
Casey nodded checking in on her Nidoking, "Yes."
Gou, "Together then. Sandslash!"
Casey, "Nidoking."
"Earthquake!"
Max gasped as he felt the earth move below him but didn't have the time to say anything as Gou realized a problem. Gou grabbed both Casey and Max and climbed on top of Flygon who had also realized a problem. Double earthquakes were not allowed outside of specialized battlefields for two very specific reasons. One it became very uncontrollable and two you never knew who or what was effected by it. The three returned their Pokemon as the watched the opponent rush to save themselves too. Max his his face in Gou's chest as one of the people screamed as he was buried alive under the rubble.
Casey shuddered, 'I just killed someone.'
Gou, "Don't watch. Let's head back to the cabin to report this."
Casey, "Yeah, ummm, could we land for a bit?"
Gou, "Yeah, Flygon if you would."
Flygon looked at their pale faces worried about them and nodded as he flew in the direction of the cabin and found a safe spot to land first. The three humans staggered as they got off the dragon type Pokemon before rushing to the bushes and dry heaving. Max was sobbing making Flygon coo and try to comfort him, Gou wanted to make sure he was okay but before he could move they heard an explosion that made them jump.
Casey trembled, "What was that?"
Gou, "It came from the direction Ash went."
Max sniffled, "What do we do?"
Gou grimaced, "Casey take Max and head to the cabin. Both of your Pokemon need immediate treatment. I'll go get Ash."
Casey, "Are you sure?"
Max, "We can help, distract them or something."
Gou shook his head, "No your Pokemon's health comes first. My Pokemon are still fine thanks to Meganium and Breloom taking the bullets instead. Speaking of we are having a long talk with them about that. Don't get me wrong I'm greatful they saved my Pokemon but that was very dangerous. So get them medical help and stay with them okay? They need you."
Max wanted to protest but thought about it and nodded followed by Casey. Gou then requested Flygon to carry then two of them to the cabin and to be careful. Cinderace came to stand beside him with a grim look, the fire bunny knew why his trainer was actually staying back. He remembered back in Vermillion both Gou and Chloe had requested to learn how to identify bodies and Professor Sakuragi had given them a shrewd look before sighing and handing them to the A - team of Vermillion City. They had decided to learn to do that in case there was a repeat of the Orange Archipelago incident. They were both still rookies but they had to learn somewhere.
Gou, "Help me Cinderace, Haunter."
Haunter appeared and nodded, "Haunt."
Gou, "We should hurry, it sounds like Ash is involved in a fight."
The three of them dug out the burried human and Pokemon bodies by following Haunter who had a closer tie to death. Gou wanted to puke but kept it in and muttered to himself to focus and his friends needed him. Haunter gave a shout pointing at one of the humans that Gou realized was alive and barely breathing. Gou called his Fearrow and instructed Haunter to keep the human unconscious and help Fearrow carry him to the medic cabin first. Haunter nodded and the two of them were off with their living quarry, which left Gou with the dead bodies. He called his Hypno out again and requested her to teleport the dead bodies to the Ranger camp. Hypno was very disgruntled at the idea of helping her enemies, that also enemies who tried to kill her trainer. Gou had to calm her and explain they were dead and could not hurt anyone else anymore. After that was done he gave a sigh and rushed towards the place where the explosion happened only to come across a group breaking down a wall.
Gou, "Are you okay to battle more Cinderace?"
Cinderace, "Ace!"
Gou's eyes widened on seeing what was going on, "Ash is inside? He must have found out why these bastards are here."
Cinderace narrowed his eyes, "Cinder."
Gou, "I hope Max and Casey are okay and reached the camp safely."
Max was looking back, "I hope Gou will be alright."
Casey reassured him, "Don't you worry Max. Gou is strong and has Cinderace with him."
Max nodded, "I see the camp.... Oh boy!"
Casey, "They are fighting too? Great. Let's try to get to the medical."
Brock looked up, "Casey? Max? Are you okay?"
Max got off Flygon as he landed after dodging an attack, "Yeah, just watched someone die is all."
Brock was grim, "I see."
Casey, "Gou went to help Ash. He sent us here because our Pokemon require medical attention pronto."
Axel, "Brock go help your friends, we can deal with this. You already helped us by destroying their weapon."
Brock nodded, "Come on! This way to the cabin. I'll take care of them."
[A. N.: Yup another update.
I hope JD gets justice. Praying for you JD!]
