Pokemon Master of Marvel (MCU)

"OH SHIT YEAH!!!"

Completing my run through of Pokémon Red and beating Blue with my team that I had painstakingly put together I flopped back in relief. Managing to beat the game with a Charmander, Pidgey, Geodude, Dratini, Oddish and Poliwag, I refused to evolve them put countless hours into raising my team to level 100, then steam rolling the elite four and passing the game with just the 6 of them.

The satisfaction I felt after completing such a feat was the best I felt since I first started playing the game. Seeing the development of Pokémon and how they changed to each generation. I started losing hope in the company as it honestly was getting ridiculous. They had absolutely no imagination and some of the designs showed their complete lack of originality, like seriously a pile of trash? an ice cream cone and a set of keys? I mean sure they probably had an acceptable back story or information on the species, but I just couldn't get past the look.

You can say whatever you want and I know I've gotten some hate online when I'd made my opinion clear, but i'm sticking to my guns and never progressed past gen 3. That one was a stretch and it only really captivated me for a single run through and then i lost interest. Pokemon Red though, it just never gets old and you can do so much and play it many different ways, yes, yes, yes you can do that with others, but there is just something about it that i never get bored with.

Putting down my trusty old brick which by this time was running incredibly hot due to the hours it had been running i had turned it off and headed into the kitchen to have some food, making my way there I started putting a sandwich together and was nearly done when I smelt something burning. Looking around I didn't see anything I the kitchen and followed my nose to the lounge where I saw my Gameboy smoking. Fear running through me I raced over to it, pried off the back to get to the batteries......

I gradually came to and tried to look around, I wasn't sure if I had my eyes open or not as I couldn't see anything, it was just black no matter where I tried to turn my head. Starting to freak out as regardless of what i tried to do nothing changed, it was black as far as i could see. It seemed to go on for day after day, turning into weeks and then what felt like years. My memories started to play back in my head trying to keep myself sane in this freaky situation, from my early childhood and making a few friends in early school, to moving away and losing touch with them. I went through schooling continually moving and not making any solid friends, just acquaintances. Finishing school and then dropping out a few years into university, retreating into my own world and apart from writing the odd webnovel and making some basic money surrounding myself with anything pokemon i could find. Gen 1 of course, i saw the years pass me by and complete run through after run through, learning all i could about the pokemon and any information released about the regions and world. 

Even though I disliked the other Generations this didn't mean that I wouldn't keep on top of any developments, after all I needed to make sure I could school any noob that thought they could prove other generations were better. I mean it laid the groundwork for every future game plot and the blueprint for every Pokémon to come. I don't think i need to go into it any further.

After what felt like an eternity, I thought my eyes were deceiving me as I could see a faint pin prick of light forming off to my right. Without hesitation, thinking that it would disappear on my I moved as fast as my body would let me. I saw the light getting brighter and brighter and when I got close i was suddenly floored by an overwhelming force.

"WHO DARES INTRUDE ON MY DOMAIN!!!"

Feeling the voice reverberate through my body and I felt like my own consciousness was on the verge of being crushed under the force.

Managing to get off a "eep", I felt his attention focus on me and the force multiplied, though as soon as that happened it disappeared.

"WHAT IS THIS? A HUMAN? HOW DID A HUMAN GET HERE?"

Laying on the ground I felt something touch on my mind and after what felt like it sifting through my memories it pulled out.

Feeling the presence peer down at me, 

"Well, you are certainly a curious one I would say. I have never had a human make their way into my abode before, they are mostly taken care of by my son. Though you seem to have slipped through the cracks and somehow have retained a body. Very curious indeed"

Finally being able to sit up, I stared to where i felt the presence originated from and tried to see anything that would give away who was talking to me.

"Ummmm sorry but who are you? and what's happened to me?" I asked feeling very lost.

"Oh where are my manners, my apologies but you young one are dead. Looking back it seemed that the game thing you loved dearly decided to spontaneously combust and a fragment pierced your eye and you bled out. Then somehow you managed to get all the way here and formed a body, how that happened I have no idea, it shouldn't even be possible."

Utterly gob smacked I just stood there mouth open trying to take it what he told me. I mean how could that be, what do i do, what about my family? though I never talked to them apart from Christmas and birthdays, I would still miss them in my own messed up way. Looking up towards the being, "So what do I do now? what about my family?".

"Well, while your family was upset from what happened they moved on pretty quickly, after all you never really associated with them much and as for what to do, you could do anything really. You haven't done anything really bad but also nothing good. So you fall into the very rare zone where you can go wherever you want. I mean I would probably say the afterlife would be the best choice as unless you were some sort of masochist, I don't see you choosing hell."

Thinking on what he said I was on the verge of choosing the afterlife, when I had another thought, speaking up i saw his attention focus on me.

"I know you said that i could choose anything either hell or the afterlife but would it be possible to choose something different?"

Feeling it get a bit interested in what i was saying, "Oh, and what would that be?"

"Well, I don't know if you are able to but what are the chances, I could reincarnate somewhere else?" Feeling a bit hopeful.

"Hmmm well I can't really say that it's been done before, most of the time when people pass away they stay in a soul form and judgement is passed on by my son. I can't really say I know much about the idea." It said with a sense of curiosity.

"Well in my old world there were plenty of stories about it happening, if you were able to, you could look at those." I brought up.

Seeing him pause for a moment, I then felt some excitement radiate around the area.

"Oh ho ho ho, I do like the look of those, yes i definetaly do." Hearing a chuckle come from the being. 

"So, uhh what do you think? Is that possible?" I asked hesitantly.

"Yes, it most certainly is. We are going to do it a certain way as well." With a snap I saw two rings of light materialise infront of me. When the light had faded i could see two wheels with many, many words written on them.

"What I have made are these two wheels of chance. One is the world you are going to and the other is the power you are going to have, there will be some other perks, but these are the big ones."

Feeling excited I made my way forward and even up close I still couldn't discern any names or words; it was all too small. Eagerness came from the being, "come on, come on spin the wheel." I raised my hands, grasping both wheels and gave them a big spin, seeing them speed around I watched on with excitement waiting for my results, and I waited and waited. After what felt like hours, I could see them finally slowing down and eventually stopped on....I didn't know, I couldn't read what it was.

Looking towards the being I was about to ask when he spoke up. "So your first result is the world and that is Marvel" feeling very uncertain as there are so many different versions I again was about to ask when he clarified, "Its the MCU in case you were wondering."

Sighing in relief, after all that was probably the most tame out of all of them, granted there were still some crazy things that happened but compared to the truly horrific options from other versions or universes, it was the best choice.

Turning to the other wheel I tried to make out the result, the being spoke up, "you got the Pokémon Master System".

Feeling confused as I had never seen or heard anything about it before, and I was a true pokemaniac, seeing the look of confusion on my face the being spoke up,

"So I'll give you a bit of a run down, the system gives you the ability to summon Pokémon after reaching a certain level, it combines gacha with a levelling system. You progress through the levels and as you get higher you get the ability to summon more powerful Pokémon. There are other mechanics behind it so I'll leave you to discover them."

Excitement rose within me as I thought of all the possibilities for such a system and what it could do for me. Eager to start my new adventure I turned to the being.

"Thank you so much, I'm sure that I'll make the most of the gifts you have given me, what's the next steps?"

"Well, we are actually all done. The perks will be displayed in the system, and you'll see them momentarily, other than that good luck on your journey."

With that I felt a yanking sensation and my body was pulled into a quickly growing portal.

Yet again I blacked out and the next time I came back to consciousness, my vision was obscured by some floating words.

'SYSTEM INITIALISING...0%.....25%...63%....99%'
