Chapter 9

(A/N: Hello guys, in this chapter I tried writing in 1st POV and I want to ask you guys what do you think?

should I add the first POV into the story or just continue writing it like the rest?)

"That's it for today!" In a middle of a forest, A sweaty young man was leaning at a tree and said toward the exhausted turtwig in his side.

"Turr..." Turtwig weakly responds as he tries to lift its paws but to no avail fail due to exhaustion.

The young man slightly shook his head as he send Turtwig back to his Pokeball.

"Come on turtwig, rest in your Pokeball for now." Tobi said while reaching for the Pokeball on his belt as Turtwig shifted into red light particles and enter into the ball.

Tobi heads on his way but instead of going back to the Town, he walks toward other parts of the forest.

On the way, Tobi encounter a diverse kind of pokemon but all of them were low-quality in Aptitude to even catch his attention.

(Tobi's POV)

I have been strolling around the forest for a while now but I still found nothing interesting.

*Sigh*

As I was already tired and my feet were sore, I thought of going back home but as was about to turn back, I saw a lake not far away from my current location.

my eyes sparkle as I run toward the lake as fast as I can.

When I finally reach the lake, I was greeted by a dazzling, clear, unpolluted water with many different Pokemon in it.

My eyes swept toward the pokemons as I appraise them one by one.

The average aptitude of the Pokemon living here in the lake was not much different from the one in the forest; ranging from white to yellow but a certain Pokemon caught my attention.

I can't help but get excited staring at a blue mouse with a body shaped into a circle.

'Marill!'

Even though my knowledge about Pokemon we're limited, I could easily recognise the Pokemon's species because Azumarill because one of my main Pokemon until gym 6.

'Appraise!'

I thought excitedly staring at the water Pikachu with expectation.

I was delighted at seeing that this Marill possess a high Aptitude but I fell into deep thought seeing that Marill also possess a double Ability just like Turtwig while Mankey who has a green aptitude, only has one.

Even though I have already had some ideas, the evidence was still not enough so I just set it aside.

What puzzled me more was that Marill, possess secondary typing which is fairy.

Even with my limited knowledge about Pokemon, I know for sure that Marill possesses only a single type, which is Water.

'System, do you know anything about this?' I can't fight my curiosity as I ask the system.

[DING!

The Pokemon species, Marill and its evolution line possess a secondary type but because Fairy Type we're only introduced in generation six Pokemon X and Y.]

'Then could you also explain why Marill and Turtwig possess two ability while mankey only have one?' I take advantage of the system's cooperation and knowledge as I ask another question that bothers me.

[DING!

People who were born with Aptitude would receive greater benefit compared to those that reach that said stage through Aptitude advancement.

For example, A Pokemon born with red aptitude possess a dual Ability while Pokemon that reaches red aptitude would only have one ability no matter what.]

As the system continues to explain, the more I understand just how much important Aptitude is for a Pokemon.

'Thanks' I said sincerely to the system. I know without the system's help, I won't achieve what I have done in the same amount of time.

Even though it felt like I was talking with the system for hours, In reality, just a few minutes have passed.

I focused my eyes on Marill who was just minding her business, basking in the sun.

I took the Pokeball from my belt as I released Turtwig who have restored his stamina and was eager to fight.

"Go Turtwig, Use Razor leaf!" I instructed Turtwig who executed the move without a single hesitation.

"Ma!" The Marill was caught off guard by Turtwig's surprise attack, she didn't have time to dodge as the Razor Leaf hit her causing her to exclaim.

The Pokemon around the lake were alarmed as they immediate swim away from Marill and Turtwig's location.

"Go Turtwig, use Bite!" I didn't give Marill any chance to reach as I instant commanded Turtwig another move.

Turtwig dashes toward Marill as he tries to finish it with Bite but Marill who live in the wild manage to reach quickly as she counters with a Slam sending Turtwig back to where he was before.

"Use another Razor Leaf!" I instructed as Turtwig acted swiftly and uses another Razor Leaf.

It only takes a second and a half for Turtwig to cast Razor Leaf but Marill manage to Dodge by using Roll Out.

Marill's body was rolling as she tries to get close to Turtwig and just when she was about to hit Turtwig, she was stopped by a bunch of thick roots that suddenly emerge from the ground.

Marill was wrapped by the roots as Turtwig knock her off using a Tackle.

[Turtwig learned the move Vine Whip]

I suddenly heard the system announcing as I was stunned that Turtwig learned a move all of the sudden but quickly compose myself as I just accept it. after all who would reject another trump card.

I move my eyes to Marill as I swiftly took an empty Pokeball from the Inventory and throw it to the knock out Pokemon.

*Ding³*

The Pokeball shook three times before it stops as the Marill was caught successfully.

'Bingo!' I was excited and happy to have another useful subordinate as I place Marill's Pokeball onto my belt beside Turtwig's Pokeball.
