Chapter 1: Haunted System

First Half of the Grand Line

Calm Belt

The Navy warship, with its towering masts and imposing presence, cut through the still waters of the Calm Belt.

It was on a solemn journey, carrying a cargo of the world's most feared and dangerous pirates, bound for the infamous prison known as Impel Down.

Lucas sat in a cramped, dimly lit cell deep within the ship, his thoughts racing.

He had been transported to the world of One Piece through a mysterious twist of fate, but that was far from his immediate concern.

What gnawed at him was the bounty hanging over his head like a death sentence – 30 million beli.

"I must find a way to escape," Lucas muttered to himself, his voice barely a whisper amid the creaking of the ship.

As a devoted otaku and an ardent fan of One Piece, he knew the legends of Impel Down well.

It was the most impregnable prison, nestled in the heart of the Calm Belt, encircled by colossal Sea Kings and housing the world's most notorious pirates.

Even the legendary figures of pirate lore found themselves confined within its inescapable walls.

"Once you're inside, only those with Shiki's strength or Luffy's uncanny luck can hope to break free," Lucas thought, his mind racing with possibilities.

But just as he was formulating his escape plan, an eerie sequence of pings resounded in his mind:

[Ping! System Activated]

[Ping! Start detecting the host environment and match the corresponding system template]

[Ping! The system template is selected successfully]

[Ping! Haunted system activated]

The cold, mechanical voice of the system echoed through Lucas's thoughts, leaving him bewildered.

A holographic panel materialized before him, its ethereal glow casting an eerie light in his dark cell:

[Host]: Lucas Wein

[Power Scaling]: 71

[Hired Ghost]: None (can be obtained by spending fear points)

[Fear Points]: 100

[Inventory]: Beginner Gift Package

A rush of information flooded Lucas's mind, explaining the workings of the mysterious system. It was both simple and unsettling – summon ghosts, terrify people, and accumulate fear points that could be traded for various abilities, including enhancing stats and acquiring Devil Fruits.

[Ping! It is detected that the Host has a newbie gift package, would the host like to open it?]

Without hesitation, Lucas opted to open the package:

[Ping! Newbie Gift Package Opened]

[Ping! The host summoned Sadako's item "Cursed Videotape." Since the world lacked a way to play the videotape, morphing item into a cursed Cameko. Sadako can now be summoned.]

(Editor: Cameko is a den den mushi that can store videos and stuff)

[Ping! The host gained the ability to manipulate the atmosphere around the ghosts.] [Ping! The host gained Saitama's physique, eliminating any physical limits on strength gained through training.]

"This newbie package is incredible; I'm practically invincible," Lucas marveled, his eyes widening with amazement.

The gift package had granted him abilities that would prove invaluable in this perilous world.

Lucas refocused on his immediate predicament.

Impel Down, he realized, was the ideal place for him to hone his newfound strength.

Its brutal environment, though fraught with danger, held the promise of untold power.

With determination burning in his eyes, Lucas set a lofty goal for himself – to surpass even the Yonko after three years within the prison's formidable walls.

As he contemplated his future, Lucas glanced up at the Marine guard stationed outside his cell.

"Hey, Marine! I'm seeking Vice Admiral Momonga. I have crucial intel for him,"

he called out, hope flickering in his eyes.

The Marine soldier, at first dismissive, couldn't help but be intrigued by the mention of vital information.

He exchanged a few words with his companion before hurrying off to find Vice Admiral Momonga.

"Prisoner Lucas, what information do you have for me?"

Vice Admiral Momonga inquired with his usual stern demeanor as he arrived.

"I possess a special item that can greatly aid the Marines in efficiently dealing with pirates," Lucas replied, gesturing to the boots he wore.

"Take a look at these."

Vice Admiral Momonga's interest was piqued, and he cautiously examined the boots.

His gaze fell upon something unexpected.

"A Cameko?" he exclaimed.

Indeed, it was the Cursed Cameko Lucas had obtained.

"What secrets does it hold?" Momonga demanded.

Lucas smiled mysteriously. "If you want to know, you'll have to watch it yourself."

The vice admiral hesitated but ultimately decided that a Cameko couldn't pose any danger to Fleet Admiral Sengoku.

With a curious expression, he accepted the Cameko and tucked it away safely.

Lucas's voice echoed as Vice Admiral Momonga departed, "Vice Admiral Momonga, one last thing – do you believe in ghosts?"

His malicious smile lingered in the air.

Thank you BlackGoku222 for the initial MTL (god annoying translation)
