Chapter 4| The entrance ceremony

"Nux..." Nux heard the voice "Nux!" He kept hearing it and then "Nux! Wake up!" He got a punch in the gut, he still didn't wake up but soon awoke from his slumber. Briggs was trying to wake Nux up since they need to go to the ceremony "Nux! We're going to be late!" Briggs says "And why is that my problem?" Nux asks bluntly, he slowly starts to doze back to sleep. "Because you chose to join a guild Nux! Nux?" Nux fell asleep "Dammit Nux! Wake up!" Briggs shakes him viciously "Hey I can get us there in an instant! stop being a pain" Nux said, he goes back to sleep while Briggs is holding him "You know what! I'm leaving you! Don't blame me when you get late" Briggs leaves Nux asleep, Nux is just snoring.

Melody is at the ceremony, it's about to begin, Briggs arrived and is one of the last people to make it "Briggs! Where's Nux?" Melody asks him "He's sleeping" Briggs said "Honestly, sometimes I think that he just takes nothing seriously" Briggs says sort of annoyed, the ceremony starts, the king walks up to everyone and starts his speech "Welcome adventurers to the start of the entrance ceremony, you will all be tested to see how strong you all are, and we will test how smart you all are, if anyone else is late then they cannot do the tests" Briggs looks to his side, no Nux, Briggs is starting to get stressed, How is Nux going to make it, and then right at the middle of the kings speech, he sees something idiotic "Hey there mister king" It was Nux. He walked up to the king with a tired look on his face, he put his arm around the kings shoulder, the kings long blonde hair touched Nux's arm, Nux could feel the softness of the hair "What are you doing!?" The king asks Nux "Are you idiotic?!" The king asks again. "It isn't that I'm an idiot it's just that I'm confident in my own abilities" Nux says with a smug look on his face, Briggs felt embarrassed, he looked away from everyone trying not to cause any attention.

Nux gives the king a pat on the back and goes to wait with everyone else "Well then, where was I, oh yes, the rules of these tests are that nobody can do lethal damage, if you do so then you will be disqualified from the test but may still get into a guild, we will soon commence with the tests" The king says. "Gotcha kingsy" Nux said loudly, The king felt disrespected, he just walked away and waited with some guild masters who will watch them all "What the hell where you thinking Nux?" Briggs says to Nux trying not to cause any attention to them" Nux looks at Briggs and smiles "It's because I wanted to make where I stand in the hierarchy clear as day" Nux says chuckling after, Briggs gulps "Are you serious?" Briggs asks "I'm as serious as I could be Briggs, I'm going to be rich and even more famous than the king himself" Nux says. Briggs blinks a few times, he couldn't believe the words Nux was saying, Melody was shocked as well "Wow, that's a cool goal to aim for Nux" Melody says giving him a thumbs up, Nux smiles, he sits down and gets ready for the test, but as he sits down a guy with black hair, a scar on his eye and a full black coat walks up to Nux and says "I hope your ready to be defeated " he says coldly to Nux.

Nux fell asleep, Nux didn't even hear what the man said, The man just assumed that he heard him, he walks away, Briggs is confused "What?" Melody was confused as well "Yeah, What?" Melody says, everyone is starting to get ready for the tests, some of them are doing push ups etc. but Nux is just sleeping, everyone else are getting themselves mentally and physically prepared but melody, Nux and Briggs aren't doing that, Nux is certain he can beat everyone there.
