At the moment I am sitting on the floor and salivating over my new toy, then I get up and declare my truly genius idea, "I have a fantastic idea, let's brag to GenE about my new Usp, he'll be astonished!"

I open my friend list and start scrolling, "Ugh why do I have so many people in my friend list, half of them don't even play the game anymore."

"..."

"Ha found him! Wait why is he offline? I thought we said we'll contact each other when we leave the pod?!"

After contemplating for a little while I decide it's best to leave the game.

"Log out"

Opening pod;

Suddenly a bright flash of light floods my vision as I open my eyes and I step out of the pod. Then I turn around and see that Gen is still inside the pod.

It takes a few seconds to get used to my body again still, I immediately rush to the overseer of the VR section. The man in his approximately 30s is currently chatting with a coworker and it doesn't look like he's paying attention to his job at all.

"I need you to open this pod.", I point at Gens VR pod and continue, "My friend is in there and I believe something is wrong with his unit!"

"Hey kid, can you wait a sec, don't you see that I am in a conversation here?" That's all he says and then turns around, not even sparing a glance of his console log filled with data of the pods.

"Fine, if you won't do it I'll do it myself", I rush to the console and shove him aside, then I start manipulating the Interface to see Gens current condition. Well manipulating is the wrong word here, I more or less push just a few simple virtual buttons.

'It doesn't seem like the workers here are qualified personnel if they need the simplified version of this interface, it's the version mainly meant for commercial and not for professional use!'

I first check Gens connection, but it simply states disconnected. It also seems like this guy shut off all sound, after I turn on the sound again a red blinking message accompanied by an ear-blasting loud alarm grabs my attention: [Alert all vital signs dead, safety protocol 7 in effect, uploaded consciousness of user].

Feeling a shiver running down my spine, I quickly turn around to look in the direction of Gens pod and see a guy with a business suit and red skin just walking through its lid.

All of a sudden he stops, then he turns around and smiles at me, his eyes full of madness. But this isn't even the strangest thing, his body looks like it's, for the better lack of the word, going through itself? A bit like when you look at a hypercube in a 3D rendered scene, you can only see a slice of this four-dimensional object with your three-dimensional perception. A better visualization would be, if you imagine being a two-dimensional being and a three-dimensional object like a ball would bounce through your space, as a two-dimensional being you can only see a slice of the object. Suddenly a mechanic male-sounding voice speaks.

Then the voice of my assistant again.

"WAIT, what was the first message again?!", I had almost no time to read the first message, the upgrade message replaced it too fast!

Suddenly I hear footsteps behind me, but I have no time to react as almost immediately a sharp object hits me in the neck. A knife rips through my skin and deep into my flesh immediately paralyzing me, I guess it hit some important nerve path. 'Shit, so someone really came through my door, I should have locked it. But whatever I'll respawn and my Tachi is soulbound now, I just really want to know what it meant with my body seems to be harmed? And what about the uploading?'

"Mwhaha I said you would die, you gave us a lot of headaches. You even got me to dirty my hands, with your mortal filthy blood! But now you'll be dead in a few seconds!", a deep and, curiously, evil-sounding voice speaks up.

'Who is this? Wait didn't he say something about that he told me I would die? I can only think of one person in the last few days saying something like this to me, is he this Sa-Tan person?', lying on the ground I try to speak but nothing else than a few gurgles and blood escapes my lips.

"HA, so you remember mortal! Yes, I am SATAN!"

'What's the point of this? I'll just respawn!', as this self-proclaimed Satan has already read my thoughts once it's quite obvious that he'll continue to do that.

"HA! Foolish mortal, you are so ignorant you don't even know what's actually going on, you are not even feeling how your soul and consciousness have disconnected from your body! In actuality, because your consciousness got uploaded on this games' servers, your soul has in a way attached to its new 'body', meaning that as long as your consciousness is wounded enough I can simply detach your soul and can finally begin with the first time of using reincarnation scenario 42, also called 'The Answer'!"

'Reincarnation scenario 42? 'The Answer'? My soul is detached from my body? Why?'

Satan smiles at me, showing his rotten ugly teeth, then he says, "You died from a heart attack, well your body did, but your soul and consciousness escaped giving me a massive headache. But I have to say no mere mortal gave me so much excitement in quite some time! And thanks to that I'll give you a little gift before you depart to your new life!"

"Well", he glances on his wrist were a stylish wristwatch materializes, "I'll have to go now, we'll see again I am sure about that, till then make sure to entertain me.", he gives me an almost friendly smile, at least for the standards of the possibly most evil being in the world.

Then he places his hand on my head, 'wai... ARHG!', a sudden pain so sharp and painful, it's totally different from anything else I have ever experienced rips through my entire being almost as if I am getting separated from the thing that connects me to this world.

All of a sudden everything goes black. 'No that's not black it's something different, it's nothingness!'

I can't feel anything, can't hear anything, can't see anything, can't taste anything, I can't smell anything, but there is something in this nothingness and it's growing stronger and stronger within me, it's a bit like a sixth sense but more like another being entangled with me!

There it is! It's still growing closer to me! And it's sending information directly to my brain like any of my other senses, but this type of information is entirely different from the reality describing stuff my eyes, ears, taste buds, nose and fingertips would usually send to me! This information is a direct connection between me and another being! Another being still getting born from my soul and other parts. 'I guess that's Tachi'
