Sinopse

Nightmares Creatures that appeared from the unknown a millennium ago continuously threatened humanity, pushing and pressuring people who once inhabited it aside. These Entities brought the world into utter chaos, furthering their influence to what was once a land that belonged to its rightful owner. In the end, humanity was forced to adapt. They kept trying different ways to fend off the Nightmares, and the solution they finally settled on was… why not become one themselves? Cesar Sparrow, an unfortunate fellow born in an era full of corruption, horror, and the unknown, was desperately trying to escape from its clutches… until he found an enigmatic, dying eyeball that latched itself onto him. “Hehehe, what a great fellow you are,” “How are you talking—. Just what are you…?” The dying eye that latched itself to his empty, bleeding eye socket chuckled, its voice groggy as it answered. “What do you think am I? I’m just an old and weak Nightmare, Sparrow. Though, you can call me Eyes of Deceit. And I'll borrow your body for a moment if you won't mind. Hehe,” "No, why would I give you my body?! Get the fuck out!" Entrapping himself in a series of encounters, uncovering secrets that belong to the Nightmares… and the humanity wanted to remain hidden, Cesar Sparrow ventures into the unknown. To keep struggling, to keep resisting, to keep persevering… will all that be enough? Will he be finally the one to break the chains humans had found themselves in, ending a millennium of suffering? Or succumb to the curse of the Nightmares? ******* Cover not mine. All credits belonged to the owner. Discord Link: https://discord.gg/wcFfu4SP

Chapter 1Memory Of The Past

"Children, what do you think Nightmares are?"

Once in a while, I couldn't but remember this question posed by my teacher.

It was the time when I was still a child, oblivious about what was really happening. Although I couldn't remember his face, name, and almost everything about him, his soothing demanding voice was all I could recognize when he posed this question.

I tried to think hard about it when I had a chance to ponder but my efforts were futile.

Still, even if it was very vague, I can remember pieces of it.

It was probably because his words got stuck in my head ever since.

I remember raising my hand to answer.

"Teacher, isn't that what happens when you have bad dreams?"

The teacher standing in front of the board seems to subtly chuckle. For some reason, I felt him staring at me for a brief moment before answering.

"Well, I guess outskirts people like us aren't suited to be shared with what's supposed to be general knowledge for everyone to know. You are still kids, yes. But even you people should learn what the known knowledge of what these Existences are,"

Faintly remembering how other children appeared disinterested in such topics, I realized how engrossed I was in the incoming discussion.

"Nightmares are manifested Entities that came from somewhere I don't even know myself. The word 'Nightmare' itself was just invented as it fits right with the description of how harrowing these creatures are to humanity. These entities are otherworldly beings with unknown purposes in this world. T-their… our first appearance happened a thousand years ago and only a century had to pass when humans discovered their existence,"

The teacher halted for a brief moment.

Squish—!

At the next second, I vaguely remember feeling a liquid splashing across the side of my face but I didn't mind it at all. The revolting sound of flesh being torn apart, the slurping sound of an entity permeated like when drinking water through a straw, and the soothing voice of the teacher resumed.

"Our existences corrupted humans in a way you children wouldn't even imagine. Nightmares grew that way. We feast on you lowly humans."

Splash—!

"But for some reason, humans found a way to fight back. It was funny how it took three more centuries to come up with a solution that didn't even guarantee the user's safety when exposed to such power. Well, humanity's greatest redeeming quality is their adaptability after all."

Splash—!

At this point in my memory, my vision became clouded. The appearance of the teacher who I could only faintly remember became more obscure, only their voice remained ringing all around the place.

"Yet you see kids, there's another way to fight back. It's not entirely a weakness but just a way to expose our identities if you fought one and didn't know their power,"

The voice paused.

"Our names. Our True Name you guys wouldn't even know no matter what. Wait, there's another thing. If True Names aren't working, our Nightmare Title was enough. However, I would prefer you use the former since exposing the Title is too weak to produce a… well, a result,"

The revolting sound of splashing sounds of flesh vanished. The voice also disappeared as well but just as I was thinking everything turned back to normal, the same eerie tone resumed.

"Of course, talking about this wouldn't make a difference."

This time, the voice was directly aimed at me.

"You're the last child left. It's a shame… I'm still hungry. I couldn't satiate this hunger even if I kept eating and eating… Shame… It's such a shame,"

I don't know what forced me on that day but I knew I was foolishly engrossed in listening. The voice's words echoed and rang inside my head that my mouth was forced to move on its own uttering a single word.

"Hunger,"

Suddenly, the voice was no more. The obscure and hazy surroundings that made me all alone in this tiny space also vanished into thin air.

In front of me, the teacher was gone as well.

Another 'being' was standing in front with its appearance harrowing enough that it was the only thing I could picture clearly.

The creature's figure was severed with fangs protruding out from those open flesh. Its revolting head which only had its cranial socket was located on its abdomen with its eye sockets elongating out a long, flesh-like snake as its two black eyes were staring at me from above as they hovered through the air.

The creature's flesh-like hand holding me tightly raised me up and was just like any other manifestation of its power.

But what me realize the dire situation was directly within the vision of my eyes.

A convoluted, huge mouth that stretched through the creature's neck halted on reaching out to me and deep inside of it was another mouth, this time, with the lips of a human.

The lips inside the convoluted mouth moved.

"Oh?"

The tone appeared to be fascinated.

"How come a mere child—"

My nose tingled due to the foul stench hence I merely ignored the voice and weakly turned my head around.

Mangled bodies of children of varying sizes and ages were scattered around. The blood across the floor was new and being devoured by elongated flesh-like limbs with mouths at the end of it coming from the creature on my front. The moon's illumination that pierces through the windows heightened the terrifying image of carnage and despair.

The memory of the past that still haunts me depicted a very clear picture that I couldn't shake off no matter what.

Soon, my eyes returned back to the front.

Fear struck me.

'I'm going to die…'

My breathing became ragged as my complexion turned for the worse. The Nightmare, Hunger, feel even more fascinated watching me finally coming to a normal reaction as to how humans were supposed to react.

"Very hungry…!"

Hunger let out a low growl and tried to end my life on that very day before I got freed from my position.

Slash—!

The flesh-like hand grasping my frail body was cut in half, leaving me falling and bumping my head to the ground.

Thud—!

Before even losing consciousness, my gaze fell on the group of people who entered the room and stopped the devil from finishing its last feast. Draped in all black, the group of people clashed with The Nightmare, Hunger.

I couldn't witness the start of the fight because the last thing I knew, I closed my eyes and lost consciousness.

"…"

Opening his eyes, a lone man finds himself staring at the ceiling wall of his room. The side of his eye was swollen due to the endless stream of tears that came down from it. His arm placed just right above his eye returned to its rightful position on the side of his body as he remained quiet.

"It's the same nightmare again…"

Wiping the tears on the side of his face, the man stood up from his bed to accept another day of the desolate world he lived in.

He went to the bathroom to wash himself. Once he was done, he got his school uniform into his wardrobe and attire himself before preparing some breakfast.

Bleakly looking at the cup of rice on his front and a shrimp using chopsticks, he finished his food.

With a polo as his inner and the black navy blue as an outer, his ironed black pants, and polished black shoes, the man looked at himself in the mirror.

Pale as ever, the man had a sharp face and features of an above-average individual. His deep, penetrating hazel eyes were devoid of emotion and emitted a silent menacing aura. His raven-black hair that complemented his pale skin appeared to share his threatening mood.

Arranging himself, the lone man grabbed the name tag that had just been placed on the table in front of the mirror and put it right near his chest.

/Cesar Sparrow/

After seeing himself cleanly dressed, the man, Cesar Sparrow left his room to attend the important event for today.

It was finally time to congratulate his seniors for graduating which also marked the day when the previous year would become the next seniors.

Authors Note: I have always been fascinated by writing fantasy relating to historical facts. In this story, you will find characters inspired by real-world myth and legend. The universe I created hopefully will make the reader's imagination excited and logically plausible. I hope you enjoy it. ### Here are some key aspects you'll encounter: MC: The protagonist follows the classic weak-to-strong arc. World: Picture a blend of Harry Potter and Star Wars. System: While it's primarily a magic-based story, there's a structured system in place that's easy to follow. Additionally, elements of cultivation. Harem: No, there are several female interests. But I enjoy romance first. So even if there will be more than one love interest it will be deep. Note: English is not my first language, but you'll notice that my writing and English skills gradually improve throughout the chapters. Other: The novel delves into deep research on science and history, enriching the storyline with factual and intriguing details. Give it a read—you might be pleasantly surprised by what unfolds. Primordial Villain with a Slave Harem

Quinlan, a simple office worker finds himself transmigrated to an extremely dangerous fantasy land as a level 1 Commoner with nothing to his name but his wits - and a unique gift that accompanied his teleportation. No one in Thalorind could have predicted that this unassuming arrival would one day rise to the top, redefining the very meaning of the term 'power'... And that he may have achieved said result by joining a criminal organization and clawing his way through its ranks. In the beginning, Quinlan was painfully weak and alone but thanks to his severe trust issues, joining a team was... hard. However, he soon noticed that a lot of people have collars around their necks in this world... People that couldn't exactly betray him. Follow Quinlan's journey as he grows in strength, amasses wealth, fights to the death, and meets lovely ladies. ... Discord: https://discord.gg/bjunEkswQ3\ ... After writing over 750 chapters, here’s what you should know: 1. About the beginning: The early chapters are a bit rough. I'm not saying that it's horrible, in fact, I believe the story to be very enjoyable right from chapter 1. But, at the end of the day, this is my first original novel, and I stumbled in some areas, especially with the MC's attitude. He's too reserved and occasionally too "simpy" with the first female lead. However, the MC grows into a confident, powerful, and composed figure. No long-term cringe. He becomes the kind of MC you want to root for. 2. Quinlan’s morality: He’s not a cruel, sadistic villain. Most of the time, he won't even be acting like a real villain, only when pushed to the limit. Meaning he won't torture puppies or civilians for fun while cackling manically. However, he’s greedy, shameless, and opportunistic. If the lives of his loved ones are at stake and he can only save them by burning a city with innocents inside down, he’ll do it. He's ruthless toward strangers when necessary, but doesn't delight in cruelty. 3. Regarding slaves: Yes, Quinlan becomes a slave master. However, he treats all his women—free or enslaved—with care and respect. 4. More than smut: Every love interest has a real story, a real presence. No girl will be left behind. As of Chapter 750, Quinlan has 7 lovers and a few more "in-development" love interests. This is not a "catch them all" story, adding one girl every 20 chapters. I prefer harems made up of girls with richly developed characters over giant harems full of shallow ladies. Quality over Quantity. 5. Balanced storytelling: My aim was to create a work where romance, action, and slice-of-life blend together naturally. There’s high-stakes action, power progression, romantic developments, comedy, and some chill downtime to let both the characters and the readers breathe. 6. Weak-to-Strong Progression: Quinlan will become OP. But he rises slowly, not overnight. His journey will hopefully feel earned. 7. Not every female character listed in the fandom is a love interest: Some women are important to the plot but are not part of the harem or a planned to be, such as his two mothers. 8. No Yuri. No NTR. That's it, thank you for taking your chance on my novel! I'll make a promise to you, showing how much I believe you'll love the novel if you get over the somewhat bumpy beginning! If you read 750 chapters and hate the story even after investing so much time into it, then you may burn me alive!
