1. New World, New Life

I sit here, in an empty void, waiting, floating around endlessly. All around me is an inky blackness but in the distance I can see specks of color. White, gold, red, and blue. Seeing that nothing will happen for a while, I think back to how I got to this point.

My name is Ryuji, no last name as I never knew my parents. I was what people would call an Otaku but I still had a decent social standing. Slightly above average looks, top of my class in highschool, proficient in multiple fighting forms, socially distant but easy to get along with. This allowed me to breeze through school without so much worry from people who would like to see me under their boots. I was walking home after another late shift at my job at a corner store which I maintain alongside my grades so I can pay for my lifestyle.

As I was leaving the shop I took a look into the mirror and see my face.

I had dark black hair that was pulled into a short ponytail at the back that contrasted against my pale skin perfectly. My eyes were a light golden color that were made prominent in the way they would seemingly glow in the dark and by the dark bags under my eyes from all the late nights I have. My figure was lithe, making me look slightly more feminine then all the other guys but if you looked closely you could see the compact muscles that adorned my frame which stood at about 5'6. Some guys have tried to call me a twink, but that stopped after they would see me and their girlfriend making out in a closet.

The clothes I was wearing was a simple purple hoodie and a black skirt with dark blue accents that stopped at about the middle of my thigh, I mean, I look good in it so why not? I was wearing some cargo pants underneath that, due to the lack of pockets skirts have, which were tucked into black combat boots.

After I finished looking over at myself in the mirror I continued on the way towards my apartment, wondering if I should finish RWBY or Overlord for the 12th time or watch the latest episode of MHA.

(AN: I couldn't get into the RWBY anime, the animation just kept throwing me off, I loved the story though.)

As I was lost in thought I heard muffled yelling and urgent whispering in the alleyway as I ducked down. I pulled out my phone, barely registering it was 3 AM and I had classes at 9 that day, I dialed the police and informed them. They told me to wait where I was and that they had a squad car on the way but I heard the whispers get more urgent and the yelling more frequent. I looked over and grabbed the pipe that was leaning against the dumpster, noting it was roughly 4 feet long, around 48 inches.

As I went forward and rounded a corner, I saw a man dressed in all black with his left hand over an older woman's mouth and a knife in his right hand pointed towards her neck as I could finally make out what he was saying.

"Shut the fuck up bitch! Just stay nice and quiet! Don't be too loud, don't want to ruin that pretty mouth of yours now do you?" he said as his knife moved from her neck to the corner of her mouth, as if he was going to cut it open. In response to this, her whimpering only got more frantic. But just as he was about to draw blood I came out of my hiding spot, the pipe in my right hand.

He didn't hear me move just yet, due to the woman distracting him. Allowing me to get right behind the man. Noting I stood nearly a foot under him I took the pipe with both hands and swung full force towards his right knee. On contact there was a sickening crunch, followed by a shout, a mixture of both surprise and pain. I look at the woman and tell her to run as she does so, before I attempt to follow suit.

Emphasis on attempt because, despite having a shattered knee cap, he was able to lunge towards me and stabbed me in the thigh. I groan in pain and look towards my leg, based on the amount of blood flowing out and how weak I already feel, he severed an artery, I have maybe 2 minutes before I bleed out. I hit the man in the head, with as much strength as I can muster, effectively knocking the man out as I collapsed to the ground myself. I drag myself over to the wall and sit up. Noting the sound of sirens in the distance, the time it took between the call and where I am now was maybe a minute. I look towards the end of the alleyway where the woman ran to, and hope she got out safely.

'Shit, I didn't even get to see the ending of MHA or One Piece. Fuck, this feels like one of those Isekai tropes I always read about in fanfictions… To bad it wasn't a truck, fuck this hurts!'

These were my last thoughts before I finally slip away into the endless void…

As the memory fades, I notice that one of the lights is a lot closer than before. I will myself over to it before being encompassed by it, and finding myself sitting in a chair in front of a desk, similar to a doctors office, I smell the faint scent of lavender. In front of me is a vague human shape. Well, when I say vague I mean the only thing that's missing are the facial details. The only detail visible is the mouth.

???: "Heeeh, so, you're the soul who wandered outside the page…"

"I'm sorry, what?"

The Writer: "Oh I'm sorry, allow me to introduce myself, I'm 'The Writer', I give the ideas of stories to the people of the multiverse."

"Ok, Writer, what do you mean 'outside the page'?"

The Writer: "Think of the multiverse like a book, universes like chapters, and worlds like pages. Some worlds have more pages, some have less and I write all of them. But it's all in the pages that life is born. Each world has at least one page, this lists it's history, it's 'Story'. Places like your Earth with lots of history have a lot more pages then say, Mercury, simply because your planet is the basis of the 'Story'. Anyways, enough chit chat. You wandered not just outside your pages, but also your chapter. Any longer and you'd have wandered outside the book, never to return again. So, I'm here to reincarnate you with 3 wishes and the world of your choice!"

"Oh? So like an isekai then?"

The Writer shows an excited grin: "Exactly! Now you're getting it! So hurry up and choose."

"Ok. for my world I'd like to go to the anime Overlord. For my wishes I'd like.

"I arrive in my new house 5 days before Yggdrasil is released. Already have the Dive Equipment and money that never runs out and can live luxuriously.

I get Yggdrasil 3 days early and increased Level Cap [200] as thanks for Beta Testing and removes the Racial Class Limit. (AN: Canon is only 45 levels into Racial Classes)

I'm also allowed 2 abilities, 2 weapons, a companion, and an armor that levels with me with no restriction that I'll never lose.

My weapons are my [Bad Dream] and [Hollow Lost].

My armor is [Unholy Reverend].

My abilities are a Blue Mera Mera no Mi & Ope Ope no Mi both w/ no water weakness.

The Writer just smiles slightly and waves me away as I disappear from the place and wake up in a simple house. Well, as simple as 100 years in the future can be. I feel hungry so I cook some food real quick, thanking The Writer for stocking the kitchen, before hopping online to study different topics.

Afterall, if I'm going to travel the universe, I could use all the knowledge I can get. Starting with Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.
