The entire audience clapped in adoration. Delia smiled, glancing at her husband then back at the interviewer. The hostess then asked, "And sir, bonus question, how would you describe your marriage?" Chapter 1Chapter 001 Alan Delia Ada

Song Recommendation: Forever by Gyakie

Northern Nigeria.

Draped in her pristine white robe, Delia gracefully cinched its knot and stretched her arms high, releasing a sigh that seemed to echo in the tranquil air. Lowering her arms, she strolled with a hint of mockery to the glass wall on the opposite side of the bed. The view beyond revealed an endless expanse of calm ocean waters.

The yacht maintained its unhurried course.

Delia opened the glass door and stood on the balcony, bathed in the gentle embrace of the sun's rays. Her beautiful, dark brown skin absorbed the warmth, and her dilated brown eyes fixated on the vast, serene pool of nature.

Her fingers instinctively traced the line of the diamond wedding ring adorning her right hand.

The serenity was abruptly shattered as the door inside the room swung open. Delia spun around to see a tall, handsome man in a suit walking in, engrossed in a phone conversation. Her heart quickened at the sight of him, her husband.

The man strode toward the enormous heart-shaped bed, dropping his briefcase with a casual gesture as he continued talking. "Yes, Jim. I know. I still disagree with the terms, and I wouldn't..."

Delia cooed at him with soft, appreciative eyes. He was a striking figure, with a muscular frame, black raven hair, and a white complexion partially marked with tattoos. She couldn't resist closing the distance between them.

Halting next to him, her smile was magnetic, causing him to turn to her, still engaged in his phone conversation. His face lit up upon seeing her, and he drew closer. His arm encircled her waist, and with the other hand, he pressed the phone against his ear to meet her with a gentle, affectionate kiss on her lips.

Delia responded with a sly smirk and leaned into the kiss, deepening the connection, and making it more passionate than the last.

"Sir? Sir? Sir! Sir, are you there?" The voice on the other end of the call stuttered, causing Delia to realize the distraction she was causing. She reluctantly pulled away, her arms remaining draped around his shoulders as he cleared his throat to respond to the person on the line.

"Yes, Yes. Now, like I was saying..." He continued his conversation, though his attention was divided as he took a seat on the bed. Delia decided to leave the task of removing his shirt for a later moment and turned toward the door.

Her husband swiftly grasped her wrist, pulling her back onto his lap. Delia wrapped her arms around his neck to maintain her balance, looking up at him in surprise. He fixed his gaze on the window, scowling at the words from Jim on the phone.

"Didn't I already pay that bastard!?" He exclaimed, frustrated. He pulled her with him to sit between his legs, his back against the headboard, holding her securely.

Delia chuckled at his clingy actions, shaking her head as she tried once more to free herself from his grip and step down from the bed.

He pulled her back with a firmer hold, his legs entwining with hers to keep her in place. His narrowed eyes met hers, and he asserted, "Jim, do as I told you. Get back to me later." He concluded the call, carelessly tossing his expensive phone across the room.

He frowned, fixing his gaze on Delia. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I need to go make lunch. I don't want to cook late," she responded.

His frown remained, and he clung to her waist with both arms. "And so? How many times do I have to warn you never to think of leaving my arms, huh?"

Delia chuckled, "Bobo, I'm going downstairs to cook for you."

"Let the maids do it," he suggested, his expression softening slightly but gradually morphing into a pout.

She arched her brows, "Really? You banned all the maids from cooking because you claimed it's only my food that deserves to stain your pots."

"Well, that's because it is. But still, I hate it when you try to escape my arms for anything. Let the country burn down for all I care, but don't attempt to move once my arms are around you." He turned her to face him more comfortably. "It makes me feel like you want to escape from my life, and you know that's my biggest fear, worse than death."

Delia smiled warmly, "Bobo, how many times have I told you not to say things like that?" She moved one of her hands to his soft black hair.

"I know, but I can't help it!" he admitted, resting his head against her chest. He mumbled, "I have a wife complex," and nuzzled her bosom.

"That's why you're cute," she said, playing with his hair.

"I know." He buried his face back in her chest.

She giggled, rubbing his head as he maintained his grip on her waist.

Observing her husband's endearing clinginess, she realized how he transformed from a man who made others tremble at the mere mention of his name into a needy, spoiled child when he was with her.

"Simp," she chuckled.

He simply shrugged. As she continued to rub his hair, she felt his fingers slide from her waist, down to her bottom. She yelped as he squeezed tightly.

He slowly pushed her onto her back on the bed.

"Any special request?" he inquired, his head tilted with a sly grin. No explanation was needed for act his glittering eyes hinted.

She grinned, her gaze drifting to his partly tattooed chest beneath his half-unbuttoned shirt, before she replied, "Whichever my husband wishes."

A devilish smile spread across his lips, and he lowered his face to her neck. Delia held the back of his head, sighing deeply as his lips planted a trail of kisses on her neck and shoulders, igniting her senses.

Enjoying the teasing pleasure he bestowed upon her, Delia moaned and sighed, the sensation building between them. He raised his head and captured her lips in a passionate kiss, their moans resonating with the intensity of their connection. However, amidst their fiery embrace, a sudden voice interrupted the intimate moment.

"Delia?" A voice called. She furrowed her brows, still lost in her husband's kiss.

"Del?"

"Delia!?"

Whose voice was that? She wondered, realizing that her husband seemed oblivious to the voice around as he continued to devour her with his kisses.

"Delia?"

"Delia!?!"

"MUMU ! WAKE UP!"

Everything suddenly went blank — a sudden soft hit landed on Delia's face.

She instantly snapped her eyes open, raising up from the couch she fell asleep on.

She scowled deeply, shooting her eyes to the centre rug of the small living room and sighting her three friends seated with a book in front of each.

The first girl with long braids hissed, "You sleep like a horse!"

"Horse is an understatement, Eboh", The second girl, Beatrice, chipped in.

Delia rolled her red eyes, yawning loudly as she rubbed her eyes. "You guys should leave me be, I only have one life to live".

Delia then yawned and stretched her hands in the air, cracking her neck slowly.

The only boy seated amongst them, Yusuf, chuckled, "In ya dry mind".

Delia pushed her feet to hit the carpet, looking tiredly at the trios on the floor. Delia then sighed, "At least it's good you woke me, I was having a horrible nightmare".

"That what?" Beatrice asked.

"A terrible one".

"Eheh? What happened?" Yusuf asked.

"It was just so frightening and unbelievable", Delia shook her head, sadly.

"Which was!?" Eboh snapped, not wanting to take the Delia's dramatic suspense.

Delia looked up at them, "I was married to a white man. And the scariest part was, he was touching touching me on his private yatch".

They busted into laughter.

Delia grinned, running her fingers over her masculine haircut. Eboh then started, "I swear that's really a nightmare!"

Beatrice laughed, "Let your father not hear this".

Yusuf's shoulders bounced in laughter, "Maybe it's a vision... Congrats!"

"May God not allow such! I rebuke it!" Delia snapped her fingers over her head.

Beatrice giggle, "Why? Maybe he'll be a good man".

"How did I possibly meet a white man? And again, you want my father to disown me after shooting somebody's son? Hm!"

They laughed. Yusuf started, "Your dad will go Hulk on him".

"I know right!"

"But was he at least fine? And what was his name?" Eboh asked.

Delia crooked her brows, "Ehhh... I can't actually remember his face, just his black hair colour".

"Well, we thank God your back to reality. Welcome back to Nigeria from your foreign yatch and paradise", Beatrice laughed.

Delia hissed, "I think I got the nightmare because you guys made me watch dumb American romance films... Can you see the sideeffects now!"

She moved down from the couch and sat on the rug, in front to the pile of open books in the centre.

"And worse, now I have to read", Delia grimaced in pain.

Yusuf smirked, "Don't worry, dear? You just have three more handouts to re-read for tomorrow's test".

"God punish this veterinary medicine that we're force to learn. Then the graves of the white people that discovered exams and assignments", Delia said nonchalantly.

"Be careful of what you say... Maybe they're even related to that your white husband from your dream".

"Don't let thunder misuse you there", Delia eyed him.

They shook their heads, laughing, looking back sadly at their thick books and sheets.

The next day.

After a three hours lecture, the lecturer exited the classroom. Students got up exhausted and ready to leave.

Delia along with the first set of students walked out.

"Del!" A hand from behind held her shoulder. Not thinking much, she turned around with a smile.

"Yusuf!"

"Wassup!" They shook hands.

"How was your test today?" Delia asked.

"As usual, the lecturer smoked weed before setting those questions".

They laughed before Delia stated, "Toor, your village people don tie your matter be that (Your village people are bringing you bad luck)".

Yusuf chuckled, "I know right! Where are the girls?" Yusuf glanced around.

"They're coming".

"Yusuf!", Eboh called out from behind, walking out with Beatrice. With a smile on their face, they stood next to Delia, exchanging fist pumps.

"What's up, Yus?" Beatrice smiled.

"I'm good". Delia clasped her hands loudly.

"Okay! Now that we're all here, shall we go?"

Smiling, they all nodded in agreement.

"Oh wait! By the way, Del", Yusuf started, halting, "I saw Benjamin today".

With the mention of the name 'Benjamin', a part of Delia's heart ached heavily. Not in a heartbreak type of way, but a way in which she wished she could stab a pole through the throat of the person who mentions the name-drag them to her kitchen to slice and dice each of their body parts with their eyes still wide open — then roast their body parts in the hottest part of hell, after starving them for twenty-four days first.

"Delia!" Yusuf called her out of her murderous thoughts. She snapped her eyes to him. "I hope you're not planning on how to kill me because I said Benjamin?" He raised his brows.

Her lips stretched into a devilish smile, "Never".

"Lie lie", he sang, rolling his eyes.

They all brushed it off with a chuckle, padding away from the Veterinary medicine faculty building.
