Near death

She tried really hard not to meet his eyes which was really scaring her, he looked like he would murder her with just his looks, if looks could kill, she would be six feet under the ground by now, she knew he didn't like how her answer sounded. It sounded as though she was defending him but that was the truth, she only told him the truth. Goodluck didn't do it so she further expressed since he was obviously not going to drop that dagger look he was giving to her.

"That was what he told me, he said he didn't do it all those times we were together and had all the chance  with me throwing myself at him, so he couldn't do it now that he knew I belonged to someone else, so that's how I know he didn't do it". She tried sounding a bit confused, so that he doesn't see it, that she was defending Goodluck.

What she told him was also the truth, she used to throw herself at him, and all those while they were dating in secret, she wanted them to go further, but he was just too responsible for her liking, even when she wish he could be irresponsible for a while around her, yet, he would still choose to be responsible.

Dave dropped his gaze, he had heard about Goodluck from her before now, even before she agreed to date him, she was still inlove with Goodluck, he had tried to win into her heart and the day she accepted to give them a chance had been the best day of his life because he was so inlove with her, he didn't mind been a second fiddle. Then when he found out that the person she was so inlove with had not even been intimately involved with her, his pride increased and he fought to make her his forever.

His parents hadn't approved of her, and he had just broken up with his girlfriend Tracy whom they all love because she was a working class and came from a powerful family. They fought him so hard to get rid of Amanda, but he was too inlove to listen to anyone.

She was pure and innocent, and  just looking at her, was enough to set his heart on fire.

Sonia his sister was so much into Tracy but immediately they got married she shifted her love and attention to Amanda, although she never showed she hated Amanda even from the first day, but that wasn't surprising at all, Dave was her favorite in a family of Four with her been the only girl.

Amanda wanted to convince him that she would never hurt him intentionally but she really didn't know how to go about it, and his next question shocked her.

"You never loved me, did you?

She was so shocked she opened her mouth to talk but nothing came out. How could he even say that, she could never tie the knot with him if she wasn't sure of her feelings for him.

"Don't try to lie to me, it has always been him, you love him so much you wouldn't even believe he could hurt you.

She finally let her lips join back together, she didn't even know she had left her mouth open since then, but she wasn't going to let him say something like that, she couldn't be accused of living under the same roof with a man she married without having feelings for him.

"How can you even say that Dave, you know I love you and have always loved you, I would never have agreed to marry you if I didn't love you, I never meant for any of this to happen, and I never denied you intimacy because I was bored or not ok with you, damn, Dave you are so good in the bed that I  am sure any woman you have been with would definitely want more, but I was just scared, I wanted to heal properly from the last baby incident and try my luck for a Vbac. I know I was too harsh with my approach, and am sorry but this is still a mystery to me and I must find out what actually happened.

I really should not have denied you, that was really wrong of me, and I am so sorry.

I take the blame, I am the one to be blamed for whatever and whoever did this to me, and I think I deserve it.

She could see him sobbing softly, he was indeed broken and couldn't hold back the tears, but she was happy he had stopped doing that thing he was doing with the knief, she wanted to move close to him to console him but decided against it.

She was about to beg him to stop crying because she herself was about to break down when her phone vibrated, it was a message from Goodluck, he wanted to know if she got home safely, one look at her phone and she knew she should turn it off, she couldn't allow his message spoil the mood right now even though she wished she could reply him. She reached out for her phone and tried to off it entirely but she heard a scream so loud she looked up almost immediately,and she was shocked at the sight infront of her, Dave was falling off the couch and blood was gushing out from his left shoulder close to his chest, she tried to process what just happened. She rushed at him, throwing off her phone, she no longer cared about the message or the reply, she was worried at the sight in front of h.

She didn't want to believe what just happened, where did all the blood come from, she got a ligature to try and hold it sti, she wanted to stop the blood, but it was just too much, if nothing is done, he might die.

"What happened? She asked, but seeing the knife fall off from his side, she could tell what happened.

Dave stabbed himself.
